56:13 Nice touch, saying “the film goes HAM on his evil” while talking about the villain voiced by Jon HAMM. 👌 Even if that wasn’t intentional, it was a fun coincidence.

I wanna give some benefit of the doubt for Optimus's poor wording prior to being Mufased by Megatron: As Orion, a crucial part of his character in the movie is that he rushed into situations without thinking of the bigger picture. While he grew out of it the more the movie goes on, it doesn't magically go away overnight. We've all said things out of the blue from time to time, so it's something he still has time to learn. I don't think he said that because he believes that Sentinel deserves mercy; he said that because he wants to save D-16/Megatron from a point of no return. However, it ended up costing them both everything and...we all know how the story goes. I like to think that it was because of this poor choice of words that leads to Optimus being much more careful in his words if you're familiar with media outside of Transformers One. These words proved to be the worst mistake of his life, so he resolves to be better when making his speeches.
54:30 Bumblebee was the exception to this since for most of his movie, it's only Bee seen and he's the most charming of the transformers visually. Also the visuals of that film were less muddy and Scattered than the Bay Movies.

The fact that Transformers One is higher on this list than Midona 2, Midfusa and Despicable Mid 4 puts a massive smile on my face. Shame that Transformers One didn't do well at the box office though

I never seen the night before Christmas in wonderland, but the fact that Santa Claus is voiced by stoick the vast makes me want to watch the movie more.
The Garfield movie reminds me of The Garfield Show, a tv show I personally liked. Also modern Garfield comics put Garfield in both some crazy scenarios and uses (and criticizes) modern technology, so the heist and use of technology like phones and drones make sense, in case anyone thought those were out of place. Also I legitimately thought Despicable Me 4 (a movie I liked and even I know it’s not for everyone) was going to be in the top 10 because of the amount of garbage 2024 gave us, but then the Alice in Wonderland Christmas movie and the 2nd place movie threw of my count. I got to watch them as I didn’t know they existed.
I really liked That Christmas; I thought the characters were likable and each plot line to be quite compelling, even if some ideas weren't as fleshed out or focused on as they could've been. I can see the film becoming a cult classic in years to come.
I haven't seen many 2024 animated films. Of the four I've seen, here's my ranking: 1. No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie 2. Inside Out 2 3. The Casagrandes Movie 4. Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation
If you haven't watched any ultraman media, you can still enjoy ultraman rising because it's just an awesome film. But definitely check out the series. It's a really fun series and it's also surprisingly dark
I personally loved The Garfield Movie, (As well as KFP4, but that's for another comment on another day) though there is one complaint about it that I will never understand: "It's not a Garfield movie." OK, then. We'll have Garfield sleep for a half hour, eat for another 45 minues, and kick Odie off the table and make quips at Jon for 15 more. That's definitely a lot more in character for Garfield, but it would be a lot more boring. It's like there's no winning. Make Garfield sleep and eat, the two things Garfield is most known for, it'll be called boring. Make him energetic and excitable, "It's not Garfield." It's a lose-lose no matter how you slice it. I saw the movie with my family and... it almost got me to cry, and I never cry at movies. I personally got really emotional seeing Garfield's backstory and realizing how much his father actually did care for him with all the tally marks in the tree. I'm also a Garfield lover (I read the comic daily) and there were a bunch of references to the strip, like his phone password being his birthday, 06-19-78 (along with other appearances of that digit sequence). That was really fun for fans like me to spot. And Odie is voiced by Harvey Guillen, the voice of Perrito from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. A+ decision right there, as I love both puppos. But that's my opinion and I respect yours. At least you had The Wild Robot at #1. That is where is should be and no one can deny.
I personally quite liked Spellbound. In parts it is generic, yes. And I wouldn't personally place it much higher in the ranking. But it does bring some fun new concepts. The sound cave and the shadow quicksand were very creative in my opinion. They handled the message about as subtly as Raya and the last dragon, but I'd still give it a watch. Also: Step by Step is a bop and a half and the singing is absolutely amazing. What I think is a shame, however, is how much of an awesome world they set up. The worldbuilding looks amazing but they do almost nothing with it. I suggest people to give it a watch. Don't expect a masterpiece because that's not what it is. But it still places far above the slop that disney has been putting out as of late. In my opinion, Orion and the dark (a mess of a movie that fumbled hard on its own concept) and dragonkeeper (a movie so generic and boring I genuinely forgot I watched it) should've placed way below it. Also: how is Despicable me 4 up that high?! Some of the movies on the lower end of this list are pretty boring/generic, but Despicable me 4 was the only one out of the ones I watched that I genuinely turned off halfway through, something I usually never do. It was genuinely the dullest, most uncreative movie I've seen out of 2024
24:12 The fact this film was directed by the legendary Mark Dindal legit hurts my soul. He has so much better understanding of comedy principles than this.
i'm so sad how kfp4 ended up. The movie had so many awesome idea planned out but the studio kept messing them up. Also you forgot to mention that not only mantis is a master. But also Viper. You know? The one without limbs? And shifu who was literally smaller then her. Apparently they had so many ideas for tai lung and shifu to finally see each other again and reconcile, the kameleon would have been a way bigger threat and so much other cool stuff. But it all got ruined when studio execs overstepped and the comedy writer was alegedly hard to work with and wouldn't budge on his ideas to make the film more comedy focused. I've heard rumors that there's said to be a spin off film for the furious five but i'm not so sure. Guess we'll see what happens
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Wallace and Gromit new voice actor Ben Whitehead who will course not replace but is the new voice actor for Wallace after the sad passing of Peter
While Ben Whitehead does a good job filling the late Peter Sallis’ shoes in his voice performance of Wallace, Peter Sallis no doubt is always going to be the definitive Wallace for many generations that grew up with the shorts and the first feature length film The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. I watch COTWR as my introduction to Wallace & Gromit, so I also have a nostalgic preference to Sallis’ voice.
Heathcliff is definitely a much more active character for a wacky heist narrative, so it would work. Only don’t give him daddy issues. If you have to, do it right.
@thomasspongeconductor2222maybe Adam DeVine the other voice actors I'd include are Tessa Thompson as Sonia, Taran Egerton as Riff-Raff, Kaley Cuoco as Cleo, Hank Azaria as Hector, Brad Garrett as Mungo and Snoop Dogg as Wordsworth.
owo what's this? A ranking video of the year's animated movie library that DOESN'T finish with the last release of the year....I didn't think I'd see the day.
Just want drop a side note, in your thumbnail your using a AI generated version of Optimus Just came to let you know that’s all Edit: he has changed it now, good on you man I’m proud
24:22 Yeah. Jinx is the ONLY good part of the 2024 Garfield Movie. Let's be real. The animal control woman is just Dubois from Madagascar 3 but Canadian.
I liked kung fu panda 4...maybe its because i like foxes in media. Though i question why didn't the villain go to master shifu and ask him to train her? None of the five got training from masters or got the chance to learn kung fu by any other masters only by shifu. Crane was told he was to skinny to learn kung fu. And was a janitor in the secret of the five. Monkey was a prankster, viper use ribbon dancing to save her villiage from gorillas, mantis i belive was a doctor and a tough guy. Who liked to pick fights, and tigeress was a orphan that got adopted by shifu who taught her to control her strength
2025 only has about thirty animated films this year, and seems like a split back for us. We're only aware of Universal and Dreamworks' adaptation of Dog Man late January- early February, Zootropolis/Zootopia 2, Smurfs by Paramount Animation, the fourth Spongebob movie (Search for SquareBooty:Pirate Adventure) Pixar's next original flick Elio, and Sony's K-Pop Hunters 🙄 Ah well, lets hope this year takes a stride.
I can't be the only one talking about legit liking Piece by Piece, right? Like, I'm neurodivergent, too, & I really resonated w/ Pharrell Williams - while not having synesthesia - on top of finding his joy real infectous. That, I gained appreciation for a lot of his songs & even discovered songs I haven't listened to before, like "Sooner or Later." I really enjoyed myself & I'm glad I got it on Apple TV now. (:
I thought the Transformers One was really good, and was definitely a huge breath of fresh air compared to the Michael Bay films. It was kind of like if you mix Robots (2005) with The Prince of Egypt then you pretty much have this film. I also liked how it starts off a little bit light hearted but halfway in the second act of the film, that’s when the film starts to become a lot more darker and intense. Honestly I’d say this is one of the few films of recent years to deserve its PG rating. The characters especially Orion Pax and D-16 were very well written and tragic, the animation was great and the action scenes were very intense. It does make me very disappointed though that this film underperformed at the box office, while it may not have bombed it’s still pretty heartbreaking that we finally got the Transformers movie many people have been wanting for years with only taking place on cybertron and having no annoying human characters but nobody wanted to see it which is making me think that the sequels to Transformers One will no longer happen due to its box office performance, though with it being released digitally I hope it could find gain more appreciation over time. So I overrall really enjoyed the film!
I'm surprised you had Where the Robots Grow in your list since it wasn't released theatrically (or was it?). Would you say it's worse than Little Robots out of curiosity which iirc you previously said was your worst animated film? Also out of curiosity why is there a polar bear in Thelma the Unicorn though you didn't show him here? Lastly I was happy to see The Wild Robot at the top and Fink is possibly my favorite Dreamworks character of all time.
They couldn't be anymore dead wrong. You want to watch a prequel film about two characters that started off as brothers but became enemies due to circumstances and actually justify it's existence other than previous entries in the franchise making butt loads of money, watch Transformers One. I can't stress that enough. And Sonic 3 too.
Can you please do a detailed review of the reason Moana 2 failed as a Disney sequel with information about the villains and the humor? I also think we need an in-depth review of why Wish is Disney's greatest disappointment of all time while not the worst movie of the company.
Yeah the villains bowing down to Po was lame. I could maybe accept Tai Lung get a redemption in a two part story. But General Kai is a supernatural brute who tried to steal everyone’s energy. And Lord Shen . . . Uh he tried to wipe out an entire race of peaceful people and then tried to rule the world with cannons. There is no honor left in people like these two. Shen doesn’t even really bow he just slightly lowers his head.
That's the problem it's only focused on eye candy with no real substance. The music is lackluster, framing device is cliche, and the plot is mediocre. Also I found the animation to be cursed and frankly this is worse that the original live action lion king even though the story is somewhat original.
I am suprised that you didn't added the Sandy Cheeks movie in this list. This is the worst SpongeBob 😫 movie and the worst Nickelodeon/Netflix/2024 animated movie of 2024! What a horrible way to celebrate 🥳 SpongeBob's 25th Anniversary in 2024?! Both Netflix, Paramount and even Nickelodeon should be ashamed of themselves!
Damn right! Legit we all owe Sponge on the Run an apology. Say what you want about that film, but you feel more heart with that film than the Sandy Cheeks film.
It's likely the only other atrocious animated film (which isn't as bad as MVTDS) that isn't on his ranking. 2024 has been rather rough for animation films, but there's still a few hidden gems.
I maintain that since Lorenzo Music and Lou Rawls have passed, there will never be a good Garfield movie. Nothing that has been tried since those two brought their A game has managed to deliver the goods. So... the only roles female characters get to play in that movie are evil villains? Sure, it's cool to see female villains, but it's a problem, IMO, if this is the ONLY important role a girl or woman gets to play in a movie meant to be for "general audiences." Heck, at least The Emperor's New Groove threw its girl audience a bone in the form of Chicha. 26:57: Yes! If there must be a new Dragon Warrior, it should be Tigress, not this new gal. The choice of Po in KFP1 showed that despite her prowess, Tigress wasn't ready yet. All she's done and gone through in her adventures with Po would prove that by the time he's ready to hand over the title, she's ready to receive it. That would have made a MUCH more satisfying ending to that arc. Too bad nobody at Dreamworks realized it. This was a pretty good year for girl characters, though (a contrast to 2023), with Inside Out 2, Look Back, Memoir of a Snail, and The Wild Robot all winning well-deserved plaudits. The writers at Skydance who seem genuinely perplexed at how to make a female protagonist work could do far worse than to take a good look at Roz.
Me as not very picky;the best ones this year are Wild Robot,The Glassworker,Mufasa,Tiger's apprentice,Spellbound,Orion and the dark,Transformers,Piece by piece, wallace and gromit and Flow! Despicable me 4, Moana 2 and Inside out 2 to me were complete failures!
Putting Despicable Me 4 in the high ranking while The Garfield Movie on the lowest...💀 I can respect opinions, but god. DM4 was kinda dull and disappointing. At least The Garfield Movie had a better plot than that movie. Like, come on man.
@ The Wild Robot is an amazing story about parenting and getting out of your comfort zone. It made me love nature. Meanwhile Inside Out 2 is another mid sequel to a mid movie (I'm sorry but I don't understand the love for Inside Out).
@@betamax6080 I mean it used Spider-Verse animation and that’s the problem. Every studio, especially Dreamworks are using Spider-Verse style animation instead of doing their own thing. That’s why I stick Pixar because at least there aren’t copycats. Besides films like Puss n Boot, even Across The Spider-Verse even lost to Guillermo Del Toro & Hayao Miyazaki because they stuck to what they do, that’s what I want to do.
56:13 Nice touch, saying “the film goes HAM on his evil” while talking about the villain voiced by Jon HAMM. 👌 Even if that wasn’t intentional, it was a fun coincidence.

Exactly. Plus, despite how horrid Sentinel was, Orion didn’t want D-16 to sink to his level, and unfortunately he did, and even lower in a way

OK, then.
It was genuinely the dullest, most uncreative movie I've seen out of 2024
I don't know why DM4 was up there. I hated it.
Isn't this not the same guy who said he despises anyone who likes Madagascar
24:12
The fact this film was directed by the legendary Mark Dindal legit hurts my soul.
Ironic that the best and worst movies both involve robots
Lol
22:44 maybe it could've worked as a Heathcliff movie
I can see that
Heathcliff is definitely a much more active character for a wacky heist narrative, so it would work.
Only don’t give him daddy issues. If you have to, do it right.
@thomasspongeconductor2222 indeed I would Instead include the Catilac cats as main characters to
@@williampulfer-melville8536
Who would play Heathcliff?
@thomasspongeconductor2222maybe Adam DeVine the other voice actors I'd include are Tessa Thompson as Sonia, Taran Egerton as Riff-Raff, Kaley Cuoco as Cleo, Hank Azaria as Hector, Brad Garrett as Mungo and Snoop Dogg as Wordsworth.
owo what's this? A ranking video of the year's animated movie library that DOESN'T finish with the last release of the year....I didn't think I'd see the day.
Just want drop a side note, in your thumbnail your using a AI generated version of Optimus
Just came to let you know that’s all
Edit: he has changed it now, good on you man I’m proud
I noticed that as well, hope he changes the thumbnail a bit. Can't stand AI
@@MrJoshimusPrimeseems like he has
Good on him
@plushmadness1553 Just saw the edited thumbnail, massive credit for him on changing it
Garfield's too low
Despicable me 4 too high
This ranking is mostly accurate tho
Same thing I was thinking, bro.
Jambareeqi, who's the better beloved character recast by Pratt? Garfield or Mario?
Pratt made for a solid Garfield, but his take on Mario was honestly pretty good and fitting.
While he isn't a fan of both their roles, i think Pratt worked better as Mario compared to Garfield.
He sounds nothing like Garfield, Platts voice works best for everyman characters which Mario kinda fitd
24:22 Yeah. Jinx is the ONLY good part of the 2024 Garfield Movie. Let's be real. The animal control woman is just Dubois from Madagascar 3 but Canadian.
It's hilarious that rule 1 and 3 permanently bars some movies, if they're permanent rules
I love ultra man rising
0:09 that's a shame Memoir of a Snail was the best movie to come out of my Country Australia in 2024
2025 only has about thirty animated films this year, and seems like a split back for us. We're only aware of Universal and Dreamworks' adaptation of Dog Man late January- early February, Zootropolis/Zootopia 2, Smurfs by Paramount Animation, the fourth Spongebob movie (Search for SquareBooty:Pirate Adventure) Pixar's next original flick Elio, and Sony's K-Pop Hunters 🙄
Ah well, lets hope this year takes a stride.
I thought Moana 2 was ok but if it wanted to be a theatrical film they should’ve taken another year
Transformers one deserves better! At least it’s better than the last knight.
Gald you enjoy No Time to Spy a Loud House Movie & The Casagrandes Movie and rank them higher 😊 I throught I was the only one
Eh, to me. Both of these films are lame as hell. And why are you everywhere? Still disgusted by your tweets back on Twitter.
I actually saw Moana 2 at an early screening and I REALLY didn't care for it
Transformers one and Garfield were fun
They gave the villain to much power for him to handle in king fu Panda 3
19:01 a only thing I will undislike it not putting a Crane in a front in my face.
24:58 RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
Yeah, people thought Mufasa would be better than Sonic 3
They couldn't be anymore dead wrong. You want to watch a prequel film about two characters that started off as brothers but became enemies due to circumstances and actually justify it's existence other than previous entries in the franchise making butt loads of money, watch Transformers One. I can't stress that enough. And Sonic 3 too.
Can you please do a detailed review of the reason Moana 2 failed as a Disney sequel with information about the villains and the humor? I also think we need an in-depth review of why Wish is Disney's greatest disappointment of all time while not the worst movie of the company.
Say what you want about Garfield but it did have its moments and I personally enjoyed it
Yeah the villains bowing down to Po was lame.
Man 2024 must've been a terrible year for animated films with the exception of inside out 2 and wild robot
Don’t forget Transformers One! That film is criminally underrated
& Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (if that counts)
I wouldn’t say terrible, just underwhelming.
In 2024 the real animated film masterpieces is anime from japan last year.
It's official, I am indeed the only person on the planet who found The Wild Robot to be overhyped nonsense.
I going to which dogmen next week I hope it going to be good.
I was lucky not watching that new Lion King 2 movie. That why I pick sonic 3 with my friend.
Funny how both the best and worst ones are about robots
Well for me ultraman rising is number 1 for me
Too bad you didn't add a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie.
Honestly Sonic 3 should count.
Mufasa is animated?
INSIDE OUT 2 AND THE WILD ROBOT BOTH DESERVE TO BE NUMBER 1!
Inside out 2 yes the wild robot no not at all especially with the wild robot being ai made
Mr jambareeqi you forgot sonic 3 and nimona or I think you already did that one.
1. 0:12
2. Nimona was 2023
I really liked "Mufasa." The animation is really great I don't get that criticism at all.
That's the problem it's only focused on eye candy with no real substance. The music is lackluster, framing device is cliche, and the plot is mediocre. Also I found the animation to be cursed and frankly this is worse that the original live action lion king even though the story is somewhat original.
I personally don’t hate strange world nor wish but moana 2 is depressing.
Do anime movie next
Not including flow is a crime bro 🥲
He can't, it won't be accessible to his country until this year
He'll have to watch it in 2025. Even Looney Tunes: The Day The Earth Blew Up (Daffy and Porky's movie)
I do not like the WATCHMEN/WHAT IF ... ? cell shaded cgi style, and would widely prefer it to have taken the Spider-Verse route or go full 2D!
Megamind 2 just basically spits on its predecessors namesake and was just a cash grab maximus in dispicable me 4 was super weak and boring
You forgot sonic 3
0:12
The songs in Mufasa were some of the worst I've ever heard, I mean Bye Bye for a villian song 🤣🤣🤣 Lin Manuel Miranda is so overrated
Transformers one is the best
Every little insult towards Kung Fu Panda 4 made me scream internally
Why?
@@Animestar21 because I’m a furry
Me as not very picky;the best ones this year are Wild Robot,The Glassworker,Mufasa,Tiger's apprentice,Spellbound,Orion and the dark,Transformers,Piece by piece, wallace and gromit and Flow! Despicable me 4, Moana 2 and Inside out 2 to me were complete failures!
Putting Despicable Me 4 in the high ranking while The Garfield Movie on the lowest...💀
I can respect opinions, but god. DM4 was kinda dull and disappointing. At least The Garfield Movie had a better plot than that movie. Like, come on man.
You forgot the Sandy cheeks movie
0:12
He intentionally ignored it.
@@hunterolaughlincan we blame him though? That movie is atrocious beyond all reason
The Wild Robot’s number 1, oh come on. Inside Out 2’s is way better then the that robot.
Why is that?
@@betamax6080 You why, because at least they do there own thing.
@@raymondmaciel4047 I prefer the spiderverse animation over the generic crap they do at pixar.
This is the worst year for western animation.
