small correction at 4:40: You could get a maximum total of 6 discs if these disc would belong to only 1 color. So e.g. if in row 2 there would be 6 black discs instead of 4....you could grab them all. Only in the second step when you grap again a sort of discs you are not allowed to increase the amount of discs in your inventory to more than 5.
Thank you for this playthrough Rahdo, this helped cement the rules for me while trying to play solo. I also do a solo play before I try to teach it to others.
I went hard on the mining last game, barely exploring developments and I took the victory by a nice margin. It really all depends om the development tree that comes out in each game though.
Question, Richard? I don't have the rules but it looks like you go from front of mine to back. In your play through you pointed out you could get 3 coal with you first coal actions. I don't think the coal mining works like reading from left to right. Thematically it should start with digging from right to left then shoring up the mine with timbers makes sense. Instead of being deep in the mine then having to shore up the mine when, in reality the mine should have collapsed... ops. That of course, it's only for the entrance first mine, the second row does indeed look like it builds from left to right, but not the top. Paulo timestamp is 14:42 if I'm right and Richard knows I usually am... Lol (PBM Euphoria, but you still won, hmm?)
+Jerry Wolfe what Richard explained is how it's played... my thematic reasoning is that the first dig is a very shallow one so it doesn't need structural reinforcement to be stable... only when it goes to the second level of digging it needs the wood because it's starting to get deeper. So in this case you aren't right :) You can dig the first 3 and only need to put the lumber when you want to go for the next 2
love the game and the explanation was great but woe Rahdo...you only have one mod of jibber jabber too bad your an excellent explaner...good with the bad i guess..tks for vid
Wish me luck. I have to learn this in 3 days before game night.

Thanks for the run through. Picked this up last week!
So glad you did this one. Thanks!
Interesting - we have found that the main source of points is not the mine, but the combinations up for grabs on the developments.

Rahdo, the game really looks good, I hope we get the game over here soon.
I like this game very much.
Hello ! where did you read that players can decide to start with charcoal burners ? I couldn't find it in the rulebook,FAQ or expansion.
it's in the rulebook
wouldn't want to have, but would like to play this. probably takes up too much space.

+Paulo Renato So they dig the tunnel then mine and not while digging... interesting. Then that does make thematic sense, good on them.
+Jerry Wolfe the designer seems to have a big passion for early german industrial era coal, since it's his 3rd game on the subject i believe :)
This looks awesome, will it be available in the U.S. ?
+Stephen Poulin no idea...
