One line that doesn't seem to get too much mention is about the Italian who was so good at fashion they had to shoot him. That of course was a topical reference to Gianni Versace who was shot by Andrew Cunanan in 1997.
@@barneyb1857 Hi there barneyb, I'm also a born and bred brit. But you never really know when you comment here on YT where people are from. Father Ted is one of THE best comedies of the 90s. Cheerio.
Superb, absolutely superb. I have waited for this episode, and even more so the next. Above all, I have waited patiently for your superb dialogue and excellent banter. I share your loss ♥️
Ah, that Ray Comfort banana clip never gets old. If only he realised that the banana has been "selected" (albeit artificially rather than naturally) over many generations to turn from the wild banana into the thing we see in the shops today...
I love how, despite never being scared of Bishop Brennan, and usually being indifferent to what goes on around him, even Father Jack was shocked out of sleep by the horror of Ted's forfeit! 😆😆😆
I’ve watched father Ted I don’t know how many times over the years, and watched Jason Byrne a lot and only tonight when he said “those are fake arms” did I realise it was him.
"They'll never let me back in that library." Yes, obviously made in the 90s. I remember when you had to go to the library to xerox stuff! Today, you can buy a photocopier for about £40 (here in the UK). You'd just buy a photocopier and do the forfeit in the comfort of your own home, in private. I doubt Fr. Byrne specified that the photocopying had to be done in public.
I've been really looking forward to you getting to this episode for a long time. You cracked up the expected amount, which was a lot. As always, much love from Dublin. Kicking the Bishop is an epic episode.
This is my favourite episode, as a football fan and ex semi professional it's just pure genius. Cherry on the top is Mrs Doyle and the fans. Not sure if you are aware in Canada, but the chants they did are very real and heard around every ground in the UK.
No.6: "Is that Father Crilly? Hello Father!" *Dougal waves Ted's fake hand". 😂 Always loved that part, such an understated yet brilliant moment. So sorry to hear about Boomer, losing a beloved pet is devestating. My beautiful cat Horace passed on just over 2 weeks ago, and the loss of him is still very painful to deal with. All my love and condolences Lucy and Brad, and thanks for the wonderful reaction as always. ❤🕯

I could never replicate her stew and I have tried so hard to do so🙄 When she could not afford beef mince she’d use a tin of corned beef, still delicious. I miss it and her because she was my best friend too. Greetings Brad and Lucy. Sincerest condolences for the loss of your beloved Boomer. ESCAPE FROM VICTORY, great episode! Another fine example of unpredictable predictability (I've mentioned in past comments) with the fake hands and remote control wheelchair! Jack judging the wet t-shirt contest..."more water." hilarious, especially with the look of concentration and relish on his face! Perhaps the only time we've seen him asking for water, ever! 😂 Good to view Father Ted with Youse again and with that, I'm now going to view one of my favourite episodes... Kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse. See Youse two lovely Gobshites there! Rob 🤪👍
That intro, now I'm a theist but that guy gave a terrible example for creationism, Bananas we buy are the result of selective breeding by humans, if any of us ate a wild Banana we'd find it full of large seeds, a tough flesh, with a bitter savoury taste. Nothing like bananas we eat
The God botherers will just say that the almighty worked his magic through the people who did the selective breeding. They'll never listen to reason or logic.
Great video. Just to let you know though Bangers and Mash is an English dish, not Irish. It's definitely also eaten in Ireland but not originally from there. Bacon and cabbage would be a more appropriate meal for St Patrick's Day. I'm from Ireland.

Love the ad for fellatio at the beginning. I once buried a dead hamster, that's before I knew they would hibernate when the time was right, because of cold weather conditions. Oops. Did we just watch a slow motion replay of the footie.
I'm Christian (as potent as we are) but love these reactions, and Father Ted is classic comedy so keep em coming. Btw, the very best episode is coming next... 😂
Have you watched The Chosen. May be the best depiction of Jesus ever and fantastic story telling. I would recommend it to anybody, Christian, atheist alike. The guys behind it have created an amazing community around the series and are able to do their own thing through the crowdfunding.
@@jethro1963 I haven't. But I find it hard to like any modern depictions of Jesus. The last one I truly enjoyed was Robert Powell's inspiring portrayal in Jesus of Nazareth. But I checked out a trailer of Choosen and it didn't draw my interest.

Haven't even started Father Ted yet still crying with laughter 🤣🤣🤣over the banana !!
American Christians are truly scary.

Ah, that Ray Comfort banana clip never gets old. If only he realised that the banana has been "selected" (albeit artificially rather than naturally) over many generations to turn from the wild banana into the thing we see in the shops today...
Paul Chuckle has let himself go. 😁✌️
And he's been the butt of atheists jokes ever since.
He was told that, and since then has claimed it was always meant as a joke. 🤨
He could at least peel it from the correct end.
Yes, the correct end.
He also got top and bottom confused, most people open the banana from it's bottom, look how they grow and how monkeys open them
Theme music by The divine comedy is called songs of love
Pale, pubescent beasts
Roam through the streets
And coffee-shops
Their prey gather in herds
In stiff knee-length skirts
And white ankle-socks
But while they search for a mate
My type hibernate
In bedrooms above
Composing their songs of love
Young, uniform minds
In uniform lines
And uniform ties
Run round with trousers on fire
And signs of desire
They cannot disguise
While I try to find words
As light as the birds
That circle above
To put in my songs of love
Fate doesn't hang on a wrong or right choice
Fortune depends on the tone of your voice
So sing while you have time
Let the sun shine down from above
And fill you with songs of love
Fate doesn't hang on a wrong or right choice
Fortune depends on the tone of your voice
So let's sing while we still can
While the sun hangs high up above
Wonderful songs of love
Beautiful songs of love
