Fantastic performance by the late Brendan Grace. It's said that some members of the studio audience were genuinely terrified of him. For a comedian whose stand-up routines were characterised by gentle, inoffensive humour that's some achievement.
Yeh its a fair point about Grace. None of these people were actors per say, but the whole surreal goofyness of the thing suited all the cameos perfectly. It was just gold.
I read in the script book for the series Linehan notes that they'd originally envisioned Stack's lines to be angry, but Grace's light, delicate and almost effeminate delivery made the character far more threatening.
In the credits you see a Father Cantona attacking the champion. In January 95 Manchester United striker Eric Cantona was banned for almost 9 months after kung fu kicking an abusive fan.
I still quote that randomly, and about a hundred other things from this show. Whenever anyone mentions London, i immediately say: 'London?' like the lady in the Henry Sellers episode
Brendan Grace was one of my earliest comedy heroes. When I first met him aged 10, my mother remarked how I loved to make people laugh by telling jokes. Brendan looked at me and said “We’ll one day I might be in the audience enjoying your performances!” While this never happened, the fact he took a few minutes out to inspire a young kid is the reason I will forever love the man. Like all of us across Ireland I was devastated when he died. Thanks For The Memories Brendan.

Love your content! It’s funny noticing how Canadians get like 90-95% of the jokes (even the ones that are kinda only funny if you know Ireland or the UK) but watching an AMERICAN couple reacting to the same episodes, and only seem to get like 40-50% of the jokes, most of them seem to go right over their heads 😂😂! Canadians are so much more intelligent than Americans I swear!! 💜🍁🇨🇦 Love from the UK!
The funniest bit you may have missed during the 'Divorce Referendum' part is that Teds horse is fighting for the lead against another horse called 'Glory Be To God' haha the brilliance in the writing where Teds character exhibits his priest/not really duality, so clever
Fun but random fact, Brendan Grace who played father Stack had a song about a combine harvester in the 70's which was later recorded and made into a worldwide hit by The Wurzels. I think Brendans version was big in Ireland.
Father Stack's "I'm going to listen to music" is an absolute classic one liner to me.... If you ever listen to "Cutty Ranks" it'll make you thing of Father Stack... BTW... FYI... "Jungle Music" is a specific UK invention.
You guys are picking up the Irish lingo pretty quick lol, love the way you say the slang words esp you Lucy, 😀, tbh you sound like one of us 😘, always look forward to your reactions on our best sit coms here in the Emerald Isle , love you guys and hi from Dublin as always.
It looks as if there are a couple of episodes skipped but I reckon that they are in the pipeline and we'll see them soon enough. That's one of the great things about Fr. Ted, each episode is standalone and you don't miss out on anything by watching them out of sequence.

Hard to believe its that long ago isn't it 😳 But it's lovely to be able to share it anew with people who've not seen it before. And it still makes me laugh. Absolutely brilliant show.
I feckin love you two! Brilliant reaction to the beloved Father Ted. I remember seeing it when in first aired in the UK?,1994/5. Loved it ever since and a go to when l need a pick me up. By the by.... I am huge Kids in the Hall fan.... Those Canadians eh? Ever thought of doing some reactions to them? They were aired in the UK about the same time as Father Ted. I became such a fan l travelled twice to the US and Canada to see their live show. Keep laughing guys!
Its great watching all these again with you two, it never stopped being funny or become dated for me. It was right before the Church really lost its grip, I doubt this helped and the internet finished it :D
Just in case you're wondering who the stand in for Fr Jack is, it's leading stand up comedian Brendan Grace, a legend here and is still going after all these yrs lol. Might be worth looking into his stand up, family friendly, doesn't curse but is still extremely funny 😘
You made me laugh with your intros as much as the shows you review. Keep toking and envy you being plastered, I'm treating myself to a drink myself. Happy days to come, watching you and avoiding the news for now. 👵🇬🇧🍸
Please keep up the father Ted content mr brad and Lucy! This is currently some of my favourite UA-cam content 😂 May I recommend some reacts to vicar of dibley in the future? Much love from Australia!! ❤

Big fan of your Father Ted series! Do you know the comedian/musician Bo Burnham? He's brilliant, think you'd like him. I'd love to see you react that's for sure. Until then Fr Ted and friends will do just fine!
G'day Lucy & Brad you do the Best Father Ted Reactions!!! Enough of the trash talk🤣Now you have to do a reaction to 'Pat Mustard the Milkman!!!' Cheers🪃from a Fellow Gobshite DownUnder🦘🪃
You can tell after a while why they gave up after just three seasons the writers themselves said it was getting a bit stale and they had run out of ideas. I love this show but some like this episode lacked something still funny and great comedy but out of the two writers Graham Lineham was more slapstick and silly and it shows here
You beautiful gobshites ! classic content with classic reactions win win win. Now where was I oh yeah DRINK. Jeezus maybe I should shave my hands the medical folk this month have shaved most the rest lol
The hair from masturbating is a joke for the self abusers to ``out`` themselves. You say that masturbating grows small hairs on the palms, when they look is the joke.
Brendan Grace was a wonderful character and man RIP. A minor aside, the word is pronounced twAt with emphasis on the A. Many over the pond peeps tend to have a hint of O rather than A. Fabulous reaction nonetheless.
Brad please get rid of the Prince Andrew t-shirt, just cause you were left unsupervised it's no excuse 🤣 love the two of you n keep up the great work 🏴

I didn't like his character in this. Not funny. He was great though doing stand up.

Ireland has more than its fair share of comedians.
Dougal represents all of us who finds life a little confusing
You wouldn't find Hitler playing jungle music at 3 o'clock in the morning 🌄😂👍

Yep. There's no F in Duck
Remember his Bottler script? 😂 He was great but his script here wasn't great imo.
Limb By Limb (DJ SS Remix) is so soothing I can fall asleep to it within 5 minutes.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 this is what I spent my Saturday night doing 😂😂😂😂😂 The commentary afterwards 🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Divorce wasn't legal in Ireland until 1995 😯
That laugh at 7:49 😃🤷♂️
Brendan Grace was a legend and wished his character was in more episodes. Thanks guys for giving this masterpiece a watch.
RIP Brendan Grace who played Father Fintan Stack and who passed away in 2019 from lung cancer aged 68.
👩🦰- RIP

Love the reactions to this wonderful show! It's a pity they don't seem to be able to make shows this funny any more.
They could if Graham Linehan hadn’t stirred up a hornet’s nest and then started digging himself into a hole. Shame.
