THE PINEAPPLE THIEF PREMIERE FIRST TRACK “NO MAN’S LAND” FROM NEW ALBUM 'YOUR WILDERNESS' WITH A LYRIC VIDEO
ALBUM NOW AVAILABLE: bit.ly/Pineappl...
The Pineapple Thief have revealed the first full track, entitled “No Man’s Land” from their highly anticipated new album - Your Wilderness OUT NOW on Kscope .
“This is the first track to share from our new album, Your Wilderness. It is a tale of two halves. It's short but progressive and 100% The Pineapple Thief.” Bruce Soord
'Your Wilderness', their 11th studio album, showcases the band performing without any inhibitions providing a springboard for the ongoing creative growth of The Pineapple Thief.
For the first time, The Pineapple Thief has brought in several special guest performers. “Since our last album Magnolia, the most eye catching change is obviously having Gavin Harrison contribute drums throughout the album” explains Bruce Soord. “This has not only redefined our sound but also redefined how we approached the songs as a band. Gavin's drumming is technically brilliant but also incredibly musical, and it inspired all of us to raise our game. I've also rediscovered my progressive roots in terms of song-writing and arrangement. Added to that, we were lucky enough to have John Helliwell from Supertramp contribute some beautiful clarinet parts and Geoffrey Richardson (Caravan) provided a string quartet. We were also joined by a lovely 4 piece choir and to cap it all off, my friend Darran Charles (Godsticks) added some jaw dropping guitar playing... You've never heard a The Pineapple Thief album like this one! I am convinced people will love this record as much as we do.”
The Pineapple Thief will be playing Be Prog! My Friend Festival in Barcelona, Spain on 1st July and is currently booking a European tour for late 2016 and planning live shows in USA / Canada.

The spirit of Porcupine Tree lives on in The Pineapple Thief!
Spirit = Gavin Harrison
That was clever sir...
why thank you!!
"Sprit = GH"... Nope, that would be like saying there was no PT before GH... and in my book their best period still goes from Signify to In Absentia.
No it wouldn't! :-)
Stupid Dream was a great album.
Absolutely agree with you there buddy. My intro to Porcupine Tree was Stupid Dream, and it is still my fave album, closely followed by the comparable Lightbulb Sun. Chris Maitland might not have the fills of Gavin Harrison, but I still preferred his presence as he did not need the fancy un-necessary extras.
Okay, I know we all love the fact that Gavin has joined the pineapple thief. But can we finally say that we love the pineapple thief for their general music and not because Gavin is the drummer. Thanks :)
Exactly
Dude whatEVER
Something tells me that you ain't a drummer. But you are right. Gavin Harrison is just one musician. The whole band is skilled ASF
It is a tragedy that this masterpiece is not even 12 minutes long.
better 22 minutes
It needed to be short. It wouldn't bite like it does if it was any longer.
gavin harrison all over the place
10/10
Hero status
This deserves to be a full-length 17 minute song.
My god. Bruce Soord, songwriting genius, in combination with Gavin Harrison, drumming genius. I think I just died and went to heaven!
The ending of this song is like giving a handy and stopping right when you've warmed up and really really got into it
Opeth's Face in the Snow does the same...
Giving or getting?
😂 couldn't have put it better.
I think that's the intent.
What is a handy?
What a remarkable song. Being 60yrs old I remember these pictures and that simple time. I love this tune and this band!
Me being 13, they are oddly nostalgic.
I have no idea why
Bruce's voice is so deep and atmospheric. love it.
2:29 - the moment you know who's the drummer...
those tiny tiny cymbals!!
so true!! haha
souvik mitra splashes...
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Classic Gavin Harrison
chills when the bass comes in! Nice song!
Yeah -- change of pace too.. Perfect sean.
Never heard a better sounding kit than Gavin's, and his playing is just out of this world. The band as a whole are excellent, really enjoying them.
this band is so underrated. this is so beautiful. deserves more attention ♡
This is such a beautiful vocal performance!
Ghost notes in Gavin's drumming are so prominent. Also, love this band. I was searching for something exactly what The Pineapple Thief delivers.
These guys are at the very top of their game .. wonderful musicians. The talent is outstanding .
I had no idea Gavin Harrison joined this band. I will be listening now for sure!
My favorite band with my favorite drummer. Damn, this gonna be awesome
I randomly came across this album and man this is a great song. So atmospheric, makes me feel like I'm out in the middle of a desert at night.
I never heard of these guys until a few days ago and every song that I have played so far is just fantastic!
Stunning.
This is one of the best songs over written. You have got to be kidding me. WoW!!!
Love this album so much already
That Rush shirt looks good on you... and you look good in that Rush shirt.
Pineapple thief is just awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Hell yeah!
The Pineapple Thief = one of the best bands ever :)
This is my favorite Porcupine Tree song~!
Love the atmosphere in the first half. Love the energy and Gavin's work in the second half. Perfect.
Harrison makes the difference
...or 'Harrison goes the extra bar' - one might say. ;)
My life suddenly has meaning. I had no clue I was waiting for this all my life.
Found this group last week
Already bought cd
Gavin Harrison thank you for being such an inspiration
Great band also
Mon dieu! Gavin harrisson. Superb!
unbeliveable, deserves a much bigger recognision. worth every second of your live people, keep going!
AWESOME tune, Bruce! Your Wilderness is on autobuy!
Finally a TPT album that truly delivers, no doubt fuelled by the genius that is Gavin Harrison but full credit to Bruce Soord.I hear the Steven Wilson influence in the use of his (available to buy) software synth sounds.
One to buy :)
3 songs into this album, and I ordered the vinyl after the 2nd song I heard. This is a masterpiece.
Peter Gabriel once said: "A band is only as good as its drummer". I hope Bruce Soord realised how much better his already great band has now become with Gavin Harrison on board. Stunning drumming as usual!...
Apinka Pike I think that might have been a stab at Phil Collins, in all honesty hahaha
@@duhcohtuh1500Phil Collins showed he was a great drummer, especially during the 70's.
It could have been longer. Wonderful song.
the drum sound is incredible.
gavin harrison always delivers :)
Its very hard to contemplate how beautiful this sing is
From Kerala with Love
This is The Pineapple Thief I love! And with Gavin Harrison on drums! Yes please!
Masterpiece
One of my new favorite songs. The progression, the chords, the little details (the droning bass, the piano tones, Gavin Harrison
And Gavin Harrison came. And an good album, whatever from who he is, transforms into a extraordinay album.
THIS ALBUM!!! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!
That drumming.... ugh! Love this.
Really good. Phenomenal.
Saw them Nov 28th Toronto, got to watch Gavin from 30ft away. Damn!
Wow! I wanted to see them so much, too bad they don't come to the Canadian midwest
Wait.....what just happened? Absolutely amazing !!!
This is gold. And Gavin on drums, that's a bonus!
more than magic
wont get tired of saying...this is ARTE!!!
Awesome recording and music and lyrics esp Gavin Harrison's drum contribution... cant wait for the release in August
Maravilla❤️
Oh damn, this is so good!
I bought "Abducting the Unicorn" years ago and struggled with it. During the Covid Lockdown I discovered this track. There is such a thing as a second chance and I'm now working and purchasing my way through their back catalogue. Superb songs, full of musical shades and contrast. A great example of musicians at the top of their game.
Just pre ordered the cd, can't wait.
I love this song with every fibre of my being and yet i despise and fear it for everything it‘s connected with (for me personally!). I literally can not listen to it when i am alone. Yet sometimes i ask my girlfriend to sit and listen to it with me.
Apart from this - The Chords, the lyrics and the sound of the Production are simply amazing.
the cd just gets better every time you play it
2:23 chills all down my spine.
Argghhh super excited
Lovely song
Love it!
OH Gavin!!
stunning, cant wait
This record is amazing!
I'm through most of the TPT's discography right now and love most of their work, but man, this song, especially the moment at 2:29...... just incredible!

MAKE IT HAPPEN!
I second you!!! anywhere in CANADAI WILL COME!!!

aww man that end should have gone on for another 30 seconds. That was getting intense.
I hear ya... another minute and 30 seconds would've been good.
