As a 3D artist of 6 years, I can say that you're right about the liberator. From a 3d modeling and texturing perspective, it is a pretty simplistic design. There isnt really any complex geometry on the ship, and most of the hull consists of right angles and panels. A lot of the detail present on the ship is most likely from trim and stamp sheets, which speeds up the creation process a lot.
Not much detail, yet. We don't know how much effort will be put in the final product
All I can say about it is, we bought into the project a decade ago. Rather than working on the .jpegs they sold us upfront, they're using resources to market new concepts. Where it would make more sense to complete work on items already sold, then use the applicable development and successes to quickly design and flush out new concepts later...

@@tehBirry I agree. Personally, I don't really know how I feel about the Ironclad yet. Like you said, they are starting work on it before other ships that they've had in concept for years. Not to say I dont love the design, I think it looks awesome, but I just wish they would finish the ships they've already shown us, rather than show us brand new ships.
@@Arms2 for me, ironclad not here yet, it's not whiteboy but purely to confirm global size of the ship and if it's work, so really, nothing in work currently.
Also, it goes in a direction, there curretly working on RSI capital ship and i think drake is next, we know they have trained new guys on the shipbulding team with smal ship and variant, plus the fact drake got quite a few ship in these year (cutter series / vulture / corsair) and seems to get bigger. Plus pyro will be next, we know pirate love drake so....
I don't think the congestion is on the 3D art department. Modeling the interior is more an arduous task than the exterior, but are several studios working on it after a decade of work we are talking about. It's been work redone and work scrapped and work done but unreleased during this time, but also the priorities put on Squadron42.
15:00 imagine if CIG just, for a test, tuned up the g-force reactions to realistic levels when you stand / crouch / prone inside a ship thats flying and doing 8g turns.
So that basically, you get thrown around and damaged, so you're guaranteed to die in 5 minutes from the nonstop damage.
Then, instantly, in 1 patch, everyone will have a use and demand for the dropships with seats, or simply regular ships that have 2-3 seats extra (or beds).
Like, it would be so easy for CIG to make dropships useful. But they're so scared of making the game "harder" because of the spectrum rants that would follow.
Or hell, they could even soft-tune it so you approx get a tier 3 leg or arm injury every 10min.
That would still mean you can do combat and be functional, but at least it would give a TINY incentive to actually get a dropship.
But no, CIG are too scared to make the game what the ships were intended for.
And where's the Starfarer after all the coding to make refuelling possible?
Nobody uses it, ever. Because we all whined about fuel range. So CIG never even bothered to implement a refuelling beacon, or fix the beacons at all.
So we're left with a whole class of ships that are useless, and will remain useless.
And no, these "jumpseats" wont matter travelling from Stanton to Pyro either.
Why even bother making the trek with 30 marines? Just all meet and spawn in Pyro instead, then do all your business there.
I dont see the utility in having 30 marines sit afk while passing through a jumpgate, when EVERYONE playing teh game has their own spaceship anyway (because there is no free to play model or version without a ship bundled).
1000% you worded this way better than i have but ive been trying to say this for a long time. Dropships are completely useless, people get lost in the imaginary scenarios they make up in their head but infantry in general is completely usesless unlesd going inside a base or ship (which at that point the only option is the legionnaire). And CIGs lack of a backbone in making this the realistic sim its supposed to be (though tbh i think death of a spaceman is a completely aimless concept with no future in any type of mmo)
yep, that was my worry too. Also my first thought when a friend showed me his dropship. Like: Yay, we can play toghether! You sit in the chair while i do the stuff. WHY?!
What would be really cool is if there was a place (manufacturing center, similar to the distribution center) where you can see the new and concept ships under construction, and the level of detail would be the same as the detail being put into the ship from the developer side. I guess like how you can see the C2 being manufactured, but showing actual progress of the ship. I would visit those often to see the progress.
I would like to see a medical version of the cutter in Star Citizen, I think that could be pretty sick
no we have already 3 versions we need rsi galaxy and perseus in game
Logic / lore wise. Considering we can fit a medical bed in a ursa. There is no reason whatsoever to not fit one on most ships in the game.
If actually buy one if it was the cutter ems.
We basically already do in the Pices Medical. Theres no point from a development standpoint in having to fully build a second ship type that falls into the exact same niche as something else already in and functional

The perseus will be made by the people currently working on the polaris after it's released. The galaxy will not be worked on until the gameplay features it has to support are ready.

* A lesser-known fact about the Cutters, the Rambler has a huge fuel tank for long-distance travel. I've got both the Scout and the Rambler for that reason.
* That column right in the middle of the back room of the Corsair was originally meant to be a server stack like the servers inside the MSR. Old interior drawings labeled that middle column as a server stack. The ship also had planned an under-floor section behind the copilot seat leading back next to where the stairs are in the cargo bay (just like the MSR again). It is why the cargo bay is lower than the rest of the ship (again like the MSR). Who knows if in the future they may bring back the server stacks to allow data running like the MSR.
* If I remember from the old days logging off resets your spawn in ships only. I remember always having to set it again if there was a 30k or something.
He also would have likely joined a different server; making the Cutty Red in the server he joined a totally different ship
Mark my words, the two ships that will break the internet, when they are released will be the Banu Merchantman and the Kraken. You won't be able to open a tan on your browser without seeing someone talking about The Kraken or the Merchantman. I look forward to that day.

Crusader ships are an absolute Get Smart door nightmare. 4 doors, an elevator/ledge and a ramp to enter/exit the MSR drives me absolutely nuts, especially when every door takes 5 seconds to open. When you include the city bed spawn, elevator ride to ground level, transit ride, ship selection, and elevator to hangar, it's enough to make me not want to play or visit planets. Bedlogging is also broken most of the time.

I never seen the Polaris flying. I seen the Idris docked once but I was unable to tour it. As far as Anvil they had nothing to be sad about missing.
It did fly around separately from the Idris this ILW but they were very closely intertwined.
I love the corsair layout because it's defendable. Also, if you run up and smack the open button, it's actually a little bit faster, same with the herc. I think they put the delay in to try and curb a lot of the open/close spam that used to happen. Great video as always! EDIT: You were too far away from the cutty. For T3 beds, you must be within 20km.

yeah the doors are a pain .. it always takes exactly long enough to reach for the button to open it, to then open one millisecond before and the prompt actually closes the door in your face instead ..

I feel your pain with the doors... They have said that we will be able to leave them open at some point down the road... Server meshing/Pyro ?? Very Low on bucket list.
They never sold modules for the Drake Cat but they did confirm recently in a dev reply that modularity is still very much the plan for it
You're not alone with the Polaris - no one in my (admittedly not huge) org saw the thing and few of us were looking pretty hard. And still wish the co-pilot seat of the cutty was pilot seat, so just flip-flop them
Valkyrie DOES have a door to the cockpit, just needs to be manually opened and closed

I did the same with the Ironclads. To be honest I can't imagine the hatch not being there on both.
Another problem however, the tractorbeams seems replaced aswell meaning the base variant might still be relevant even if both can open the hatch.
Corsair... I melted my beloved ship because of the door delay. Just drove me nuts, went back to 400i as daily driver.
20:41 I had my eye on the Drake Cutter as my first ship but ended up getting the Avenger Titan Invictus package, it just seemed too good a value to pass up. It's currently cheaper than the Cutter and you get some nice extras !

The Valkyrie also has a horrible lower turret that will get crushed on hard landings.

I don't know if they still have it but one of the days they had a bunch of packs for sell. They had a complete RSI pack that gave you every rsi ship including concepts. I didn't check the other days to see if they had complete drake packs or anything. My bank account was hurting after the RSI pack

Don't let the vids backlog too much you'll end up in the same mess I did a years backlog of vids, I can't even remember which vid to start with so it's gonna be a long and arduous process... Backglogg sounds great if your taking a break but it's not if you continuously stream or record unless you have an editor to do the vids for you! get well sone hand injuries are not fun especially as creators as we kinda need our hands! I mentioned your Aquilla pronunciation on spectrum the other day and it turned into a naming war you have no idea the division in the general chat it caused XD! oh and keep saying goodbye face every good content creator has a bunch of lines unique to them that they say cause it's part of they are, and besides a T-Shirt or cap with your cam on it saying "Goodbye face!" would be cool merch!
I got really lucky on being able to fly around the Polaris. got a crime stat for noncompliance for some reason lol.
I saw the Polaris in the expo hall on RSI day, picked one up during the anniversary. When it releases to live if you want to see it I'm sure anyone will lend you theirs for a spin but if you can't find anyone I'm always down to give a tour.

I think that they said before that they were going Polaris -> Galaxy -> Perseus and at citcon they said (regarding cap ships) they're going by manufacturer first, so RSI is first, then the next and the next etc

It's true, but the iron clad is smaller, especially if you take ou the cargo area, if you look at what they get out, we have gotten the cutter series / corsair / vultur. So a lot of work on drake getting slowly bigger in size.
In another way they did say they where training new guys on the shipbulding team by doing small ship and variant. For now i place a bet that drake is the next to receive capital ship because pyro will go out and we all know how much pirate love drake.
Dude life happens and you get injured sometimes. Anyone that has an issue with the video delay REALLY need to sort their own life out and get off the net for a while. I'm glad you didn't lose the thumb. Hell, I'd rather lose any other finger BUT the thumb lol.
I'm glad you're doing better. Idk if that's a cast, but if it's not, you should give the hand a warm bath every day or so. It helps in a lot of ways plus it forces you to change the bandage.
If you can/want to talk about it, I'm curious how it happened. A blade that slipped while cutting I bet.(I haven't watched the whole video yet)

I picked up the Apollo Triage, the red one, and I have the Cutlass Rescue as a loaner 'til that JPEG is available. Haven't tested the respawn just yet. I bought the Blue a few months ago, love that ship. Hell, I love all the ships I own. Bit of a Drake/Origin/Crusader fanboy with a few of the greatest hits mixed in: Aquila (3 vehicle in 1? take my money), Apollo, Zeus. Might need to hire people off the street to be my friend for the day so I can see my fleet fly, lol.
The Black is a better all around ship than the Blue.
But it was the Blue that got me to by my first Cutlass. And its the Blue that I pull out more than anything else.
I don't know why, but the Blue just gives better feels.
And it can't just be the round cockpit glass, or pretty lights you rarely see.

I hope cig can add more concierge levels and updated perks. I think concierge and referal programs have been slightly forgotten about sort of like the super old milestone flair stuff they said players would recieve at different tiers of total pledged amount from all players to the project. But imo its not a ptiority but more something i hope cig can work on in the future ❤
If you walk in the Cutlass rather than run the doors open perfectly on time I'm pretty sure they're working as intended

i got close to the polaris flying but them game crashed everytime i got close the game would get super laggy like 1fps lol and then hard crash
I broke my right thumb directly before finals in school. A lot of things were tough. You don’t know how much you need them until you can’t use them.

Oh and that is not a hammerhead it's destroying a Javelin look at the bay section om the front of the split ship at the left side theres no other ship with a dual sword almost halo energy sword 2 blade design, a dev used term and i'm paraphrasing here "Used to punch holes through bigger ships like the idris, bengal, but even capitals"
The Perseus is a bigger ship than you think! cause the Javelin is capital class and this ship at least from that concept is 3/5th's the size so it's not small i'd say it looks corvette or larger if it's not gonna be this big then they seriously need to replace the concept art with it's actual size if not i'll have to assume it's massive!

i dont see any reason CIG could make to not have the Assualt Clad hanger open. be pretty stupid to do something like that, if they did then the A2 needs both its doors removed since its a bomber anyway right lol
Also the Kraken is further along than u think, the exterior was done 4-5 years ago, we got to see it landed at the lorville pads not just a hologram. The interior has been the hold up all this time do to the internal tram system. The hull c collapsing while ppl are able to move between each part im sure helps figure that part out now. Im hoping to see her during Pyro

Corsair is the best designed in my opinion if you consider air compression.

i think the ironclade will come sooner then u think y? well its really two cats put together like the already got there concept whitebox done its all epmtey dead space very easy puts the cart in gold or revmove it. also they said they need this as a base for the kraken. wouldnt it be nice if u could add flight deck mods to it? i am thinking it will come sometime in augest
