I love how Laval's entire thing before the invasion is being annoying to gem-knight in the hope that they will do war with them just for fun (and to appease their dragon war god)
My favorite moment as a GK player was when a Gladiator Beast player tried to negate the Fusion with heraklinos. He Burned his hand and I still fuse anyways. Prismaura for game.
Gem-Knight deck is my favorite. Some of them were named after the Birthstones. Unfortunately, there is no Peridot, no Opal, no Turquoise, and no Tanzanite in the Gem-Knight cards.
Armadillo is second best normal summon the deck can have (beaten by RESCUE RABBIT ONLY) And if you can start with Unexpected Dai followed by Armadillo for search Lazuli/Obsidian/quarts and because its GEM-Armadillo you can go for Phantom Quarts with it for second search effect. Also Unexpected Dai is one of the best ways to bait out hand trap as it ether eats the hand trap so you can Rescue Rabbit or lets you have a free special summon of Lazuli or *insert gem-knight normal monster you run here*(usually tourmaline) and with Gem-Armadillo or Rescue Rabbit follow up, you can easily start going off too. Good video otherwise :) Next can you do Dragunity? :3
Thunder dragon fusion is also a really nice card for the theme, helping you recycle more banished knights while making a Prismaura. And then it can search you a monster on your next turn. And any tearlaments you splash in can be used to make Amethyst, which is really fun if you make one off of scatter fusion, then summon another one of the tearlament you used and immediately shuffle back the materials. That can even give you a completely free Lazuli trigger.
(6:00) Update: 4 ( 3 since one's banned). Over Future Fusion now exists and is also a continuous fusion card. (11:29) Gem Merchant notably works with Ancient Gear Knight, boosting its ATK/DEF to 2,800/1,500. (20:45) Gem-Knight Quartz (my personal favorite) can 1.) Serve as the "Gem-Knight" material for this card or 2.) serve as the fairy-type material for this card, AND can do so after having set the fusion spell to bring this card out herself. ... she can also set Future Fusion/ Over Future Fusion to in turn send Ancient Gear Golem from the deck to the grave. This doesn't help traditional AG decks much since the Ancient Gear archetype doesn't have relatively much GY support rn, but I digress. (21:55) & (22:31) The primal being token brought to the field by Nibiru should count for these IIRC. Pyroxene Fusion (35:27) might be able to pull this off.
Gem-Knights are such a fun deck and as a fan of them its been fun to see all the forms the deck has taken over the years. From classic beatdown toolbox to ftk to actually good ftk with Adamancipator. They even had their time in early Duel Links where they would use either Volcanic Shell (Citrine) or Thunder Dragon (Prismaura) in tandem with Fusion Recycling Plant to fuel their fusion plays. And personally my favorite Gem Knight is Zirconia. I once made a "Gem Knight 8 Axis" deck that revolved around constantly summoning Zirconia and using him for rank 8's and big synchros
Fun little card to include is "Piercing The Darkness" You draw a card when summoning a normal monster, and most of your Fusions become SUPER POWERFUL BEATSTICKS when you use a normal monster as material. Favorite target is topaz. Beating over My friends chaos max Dragon and burning them for 4000 then attacking again for game. Hell, you can use Master Diamond to fit the bill for battle phase fun craziness with this card. You don't necessarily need it, but it works well when you play with normal monsters.
The use of Undying Resolve is such a quality touch. Considering that the only place that this plays in Vesperia is an island/cave of crystals. Fantastic job Nova.

Okay it's funny seeing the Adamancipator For Synchro Options mentioned because I've considered attempting an Adamancipator Gem-Knight deck off and on a few times now. Something about playing Gem-Knights in Over the Nexus once made them stick in my brain since. ...my partner having a random Seraphinite in their older collection happened to be an ironic cherry on top
My favourites are Topaz and/or Master Diamond; even just Topaz is pretty terrifying with Particle Fusion, and I've churned out so many OTKs in World Duel Carnival with them that I've lost count.
My favorites are Master Diamond and Ruby. Ruby has two things going for him. One, piercing damage never hurts… me! Two, he’s got 2500 ATK, so he gives me “protagonist ace monster” vibes.
Gem-Knight Zirconia has always been my favorite, ever since Arc-V era; I dunno, I just think it has a really sweet design, and I loooove monsters with big chungus bungus statlines
I've been playing Gem-Knights since 2016. My favorite card in the deck is Madter Diamond. Nothing feels better than copying Topaz' effect and beating and burning your opponent to death.
In addition to Dark Calling, tossing in Evil Hero Adusted Gold with it gives you a Dark Calling searcher, the Fiend for the Dark Gaia material, AND a Light attribute for Seraphinite.
Ah Crystal Knights, my old confidant how love using you and your brutal combos. Though I feel Nova did miss in not talking about the Rank 4 monster Cairongogon, sure it's not a Gem-knight by name it's made out of Gem-knight monsters but it can also provide protection for key cards by spending a xyz unit to change to a new target.
I think the coolest thing is it’s not made out gem knights, but gem knight. Crystal Zinc and Master diamond are all the same person, with this corrupted monster being a malformed being of all 3
My problem with the gem knights support is that it made the deck worse. They were so scared to make the FTK better, they restricted the support to only going second. Then they gave the fusion Cross eyes because it doesn't know if it wants to go first or go second. They didnt enhance the decks going second ability at all. And now your decks LESS consistent because you are nearly 100% relying on black garden. Before you could manage without black garden with some hands,but not anymore. The new support takes up valuable resource space where they're bricks without black garden. The deck is actually more consistent in doing it's FTK with pre support lists. But that's beside the point ig
I totally agree with you. It’s funny how the best card imo (brilliant rose) is literally a shitter unexpected dai. I do think you could be more favorable to gem quartz setting a fusion from deck IF block + brilliant were unbanned. Those are some crazy cards but scatter is just so bad
Easily my 2nd favorite archetype, just behind Monarchs. Both decks just suffer from consistency issues. Gem-Knights have no on field protection and can burn through your own hand without replenishment, while Monarchs suffer from bricking hard and Ash Blossom/veiler/impermanence stopping their turn
Crystal Rose, a symbol of Julia and Zuzu's "Friendship". That Julia's story and she is sticking to it. Which is funny because the Gem-Knights archetype was meant to symbolise Jaden & Jesse's "friendship".
Gem-Knigh Ruby just an awesome Ace monster as it's piercing damage and gaining atk points from a gem monster in the graveyard. U can do up to 6500 piercing Damage. Its huge, Its like Flame wingman but more devastating. I love Topaz too even its 1800, doing Flame wingman's super effect and get to attack twice. Hell yeah.
My fated enemy. Did you know my beloved archfiends tried to destroy the gem-knights in the lore. Also a duellist who loves them made me feel nervous because I was sick that the time and I ended ban on twitch chat. But mark my words as a fiend duellist he and I will settle this like men.
It's the other way around--Gem-Knights are canon to Melodious! P.S. And Gem-Knight Pearl has ENORMOUS utility...in the lore. It was responsible for defeating Vylon Disigma! As shown in Xyz Reversal and Oni-Gami Combo, of course.

You link to the gem knight vid in the description, but in the video it seems you’re mostly talking about the gem knights from an in-game perspective instead of lore like you are in the short, is there a video where you go over this part of the Duel Terminal lore like in this short?
It keeps the attack boosting effect! The only effect it replaces is, funnily enough, the effect copying one, at least until the end phase where it reverts.

Gem Knights is my absolute favorite archetype in all of Yugioh! I love their lore so much. I really wish the non-ftk deck was viable.
It ain't great but I hate ftks but love gem Knight so i play them anyways

Favorite Gem-Knight is Lady Lapis Lazuli, not because of her effect, but i love her design, her burn damage is a great bonus though

i feel u. My fav archetype is Monarch aswell. My second favourite is World Chalice because of the lore but Gem-Knights is 3rd or 4th favorite:)

I liked to use Gem Enhancement to dodge targeting effects or get in an additional attack back when the game was slow enough for me to do so
I forget which Tales of theme that is, but big ups for using it... I feel like it's a remix of one of Tales of Vesperia's battle themes.
