I love the implication that the Magistus monsters were all buddies in college or something, but then had a falling out and started their own archetypes. And also Rilliona decided to turn herself into a child.
In fairness, not really that hard to have a falling out when your plan causes one of your mates to die violently. Rilliona turning herself into a smug loli tho was absolutely a sitcom style move.
10:41 The letter reads: "So Endymion and Alister are attacking, gotta go!! BTW Haine is in charge now" Haine: "What...?" Edel: "We are going to war and she decided to go on a VACATION!!!!?"
@@maxmcjunkin877 Rilliona is Madame Verre's younger form, just as Crowley is younger Aleister. Endmyion and Aleister continued to age into the monsters we know them as in their unique archetypes, but Verre for some reason physically regressed. _But_ she is still the older form of Rilliona as Magistus is confirmed to be their origin stories. My theory is she de-aged after absorbing Ninaruru's powers. You can see she starts looking more like a Loli in the artwork of Rilliona the Wondrous Magistus Witch Wardrobe.
So fun fact about Madame Verre. Not only did she ditch the Magistus and and take a member of Endimyon with her. But she was also the one who inadvertently drove Aleister to go down his dark path by telling him that his life's work sucked and there was no value in it. He wanted to prove her wrong and we all know where it goes from there
I like thinking Edel is something of a "caretaker" to Verre. Just look at Holiday and Confusion. In Holiday, Edel and Schmietta are the ones who went to get Verre out of bed to help out with whatever is going on, the former looking frustrated with the task. Then in Confusion, while the others are freaking out, Edel is PISSED that Verre ran off! And then there's her own effects. Great for dragging Verre out of her hiding place in the player's hand, or going into the graveyard herself to get the Madame out if need be.
some opinions on the tech cards shown at the end- magicalized fusion: you definitely need to run this. the gameplan post-MAMA is to turbo out vice-madame as fast as possible, and pop off from there. should've definitely mentioned cartesia in that vein as well, she's amazing in the deck quintet magician: funny, but won't come up a lot and extra deck space is pretty tight metalfoes fusion: just does too little. it was *fine* before VM came out, but now you'd rather play something more impactful foolish burial goods: -1 magicians' souls: it makes the deck a looooot better, it's a free body, gets a big witch in grave, makes magicalized go live, lets you draw, folds your clothes etc etc. it also has insane synergy with magicians' restage. activate souls in hand -> foolish big witch -> summon -> link into artemis -> play restage, use the revive, get souls back -> activate souls to send the restage for the draw -> search right/left hand, and you just plused selene: very important for making accesscode as mentioned, but also on turn 1, because selene + whatever, makes 2 mat apollousa which is usually part of your end board. also one of the few ways to recur cartesia, with which you make level 8 synchros with schmietta, usually borreload savage dragon spell chronicle: STOPSTOPSTOPSTOP (is ass, always has been ass) slifer package: never played with it, sounds really funny tho (and abysmal 🧍♂️) the best version of the deck right now is probably the tear variant. loading up the grave, board presence, access to rulkallos, crazy synergy with branded in high spirits (which you play because cartesia is nuts in WC), the field spell etc. the engine really gives a lot to witchcrafters. but the pure version isn't much worse! it's a really fun deck! if you wanna learn it, you should definitely join the discord! not sure if i'll get sniped for posting a link, but you'll find it in the archetype discord repository on reddit
I still stand by that Secret Village is too much of a double edged sword to be used effectively. Especially in a deck that has a slightly harder time keeping it's monsters on the field at all times. Being locked out of your own spells is instant loss, it's just not worth using. Magician's Left/Right Hand is just so much safer and often easier to get. Another really good tech pick for Witchcrafter is Iris Swordsoul. Because she's a spellcaster, she works well with other parts of the deck, and Madame Verre can make summoning her insanely easy, even on your own turn. She's not the best card, but having an anti-special summon monster is always nice if you can fit it. Honestly, that's really the problem with Witchcrafters. Fitting all the cards they want. There are so many tech picks that help them out, but you can't sacrifice a lot of room in the deck without severely jeopardizing consistency. Vice Madame is a wonderful addition to the deck, specifically to give Witchcrafters a bit more to do off their gameplan, but it still needs a bit more in the way of either power boosting, or potentially more negates. It's truly on the cusp of something amazing, but I'm not sure what it exactly needs to hit that higher tier.
To contribute more to the Witchcrafter conversation, I think that Blazing Cartesia and the Branded Engine are key to the future of the archetype. Cartesia makes getting Vice-Madame out a lot easier, especially once the next core set makes her a Fusion Deployment target. And I'm sure I don't need to sell Fallen off Albaz and Branded Fusion to people.
cartesia is amazing for the named reasons, plus synchro access (she is a tuner for some reason). the branded package as a whole isn't as great, mainly because it locks you into fusions and witchcrafter with vice-madame have great link spam potential with cross-sheep / selene plays. mirrorjade is a good card, but it limits the ceiling of the deck quite a bit
Don't play the branded engine, it's ok but limits the decks potential. Instead just run blazing cartesia with branded in high spirits. The consistency this combo adds is incredible and it's also really fun to use. Also, branded in high spirits can just be dumped if it's not needed and it can be returned to hand if you run dogmatika punishment, which is a pretty good card since you have a ton of extra Deck space anyway.
One effect that would help this deck so much: If witchrafter card (s) are banished, you cab add them to your hand instead. Otherwise all the graveyard hate AND Ishizu cards just hit it so hard.
Okay, I have two recommendations, one silly, one serious: Magical Hats (silly) - It essentially foolishes 2 spell/traps for you. Kahyoreigetsu (serious) - This has not been released in English yet. It is support for the 4 archetypes used by Zuzu Boyle's alternate universe versions, Melodious, Lunalight, Lyrilusc, and Windwitch. "'Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fairy, Spellcaster, Winged Beast, or Beast-Warrior monster from your hand, and if you do, equip it with this card, then you can return all Dragon monsters on the field to the hand. During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there from the Spell & Trap Zone this turn while face-up: You can add 1 "Polymerization" Spell, "Fusion" Spell, or "Fusion Parasite" from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Kahyoreigetsu" once per turn.'" The reason this is helpful is because the deck's biggest weakness is Ash Blossom. Normally, if you normal summon a little witchcrafter and use her quick effect, she'll tribute herself for cost, then getting Ashed means you'll be left on an empty board state. Having this card in hand doubles your Witchcrafter summons from deck, meaning you can play through Ash. If you don't get Ashed, then essentially you get to get both Verre and Haine online at once. BUT! Once the summoned monster tributes itself, you are able to search a fusion spell in the end phase, such as either Confusion Confession (if you didn't have it yet) or your one-of magicalized fusion. It's not out yet, but look forward to it. Unrelated, I also think Summoner Monk is worth considering in this deck.
Sadly this video was made by someone who doesn't play the deck, those suggestions are not worthwhile, witchcrafter is a combo deck, since it has no inherent locks, it fusion summons VM (Cartesia, Souls+Magicalized, Confusion), then spams until they summon Apollousa plus either Savage Dragon or Dweller, and you reserve summoning Verre or Haine for the enemy turn so you can get more triggers off VM. It no longers passes to ash because NS Lonefire effect is no longer the primary gameplan for any given hand
Man, we got shafted so hard. The Secret shiny box looked amazing, including the Theme box inside. And You got a guaranteed secret rare new support card, of any of the four types. So in theme of the video, You would get WitchCrafter Vice Madam by itself. And then four packs, An acrylic stand, sleeves and I believe a table mat. But I could be wrong about the last one. So what did global or the TCG get? A box that doesn't look as cool, NO GUARANTEED SECRET RARE! YOU HAVE TO GET LUCKY AND PULL IT. No Stand, and No table mat. Just sleeves. And the four packs. And remember Your paying $30 for this box, or more depending on your country. Now with that being said, I wouldn't mind the Price tag, if it came with the original stuff. Also This is just my own feelings about the box. I love the video and Appreciate the explanation. Also I like the Witch Crafter Archetype.
20:15 Using Selene in a Witchcrafter deck gets ESPECIALLY funny when you consider the lore. First Verre snagged Endymion's Servant (Genni) and now she's coming for his wife too! XD
If anyone is interested in this deck I strongly suggest finding and joining the discord server for the archtype. The deck can do a lot more than control with spell chronicle. We have Branded Fusion variants as well as an explosive Tearlament Witchcrafter list.
Endymion, Spellbooks, Invoked, Magistus, Witchcrafters, it's a lot of interlaced archetypes! And That's without mentioning the fact that the charmers also have lore with them(I believe)
These videos are always good, but it is so hard to watch sometimes when I know there are interesting lore and stories behind some of these cards and it gets ignored. Even fun facts and quick synopses would really be great more so than just puns.
witchcrafters is the first deck I made for tcg and i think is such a fun deck to play even if it might not be that good, love the face of people when i suddenly add 4 spells from grave
I discovered this archetype not so long ago. Aruru has saved my girls (I run a mainly spellcaster deck) lots of times. It's fun, it's easy, and an enjoyable deck to have as support too.
I've been playing witchcrafters as I'm trying to get back into Duel Links and its been a blast, kinda looking to picking them up for real and after looking at the MaMa cards I am very excited to see what I can do

Also DMGDG also ditches any kind of card in hand for her destruction effect. Why not put that abundance of spells and fry your opponents cards during his and your turn every round
Super happy to see one of my favourites! Witchcrafter is one of, if not my favourite, cores to mess around with. In Master Duel I've tried it with Shaddolls, since they both like to be milled which worked decently. I've also been working on a Dogmatika list as well, since witchcrafters currently don't need the extra deck and both can play control style games. Other fun tech cards I play around with are Iris Swordsoul, since it's really easy to have a negated monster on the field with Verre around. Psy-Framegear Gamma is a good handtrap since it can stop an Ash trying to shut down one of the lower level Witchcrafter which can be a weakness of the deck sometimes. And Eda the Sun Magician and Summoner Monk can be good if you need more monsters. Though I've never had it come up that I need more than the basic Witchcrafters.
One thing I'm surprised you didn't bring up is Reasoning. It's potential to set up the graveyard with Witchcrafter spells does give it some utility in the deck. Yes That Grass Looks Greener is better, but if that ends up banned, Reasoning can be a good alternative.
Finally, a vid about my favorite archetype Btw Silent Magician is better than Slifer in this deck especially when no one reads her effect ;) Trust me no one ever reads her effect and even when they do, they don't expect you to have a level 8 in deck/hand to drop on field lol
Anybody who seriously thinks spell chronicle was ever playable in witchcrafter does not know how to play the archetype in it's most competent variants, does no one stop to think that MBT just tossed spell chronicle in there because he didn't take more than 10 minutes building his witchcrafter deck and had no clue what he was doing?
the only thing im not happy about this archetype, all witchcrafter only can actived skill once per turn, while the another can do it multiple times just by special summon and edel is useless
Missed out on the best part of Vice Madam where Haine is holding Genni like "This is my emotional support lesbian", Genni being like "you got this, babe!" and Edel having an emotional breakdown because she tried so hard to keep Verre out of that bubble and now she's gone.
since vicemaster still missing on MD, u can pair witchcraft with magistus zoroa n play performage trick clown, juggler, hat trick for free summon, also 3x reasoning is a must for 40 deck variant
I would like to point out that with so many spells constantly going to your hand, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell is probably the most viable it's been in any deck Discards a spell to negate a spell, pop it and lock your opponent from using it for the rest of the duel? That can instantly kill some decks!
the thing that kinda pisses me off about the witchcrafter cards is that their the only one of the 3 magistus spellcasters (we dont talk about Zoroa) to not get a link monster like Endymion got Selene Invoked got The Invoker of Madness hell even Spellbooks got Crowley, like hell Witchcrafter couldve been the Link extra deck of the spellcasters like we have Zoroa for Syncro, Alister for Fusion, Spellbooks for Xyz, and Endymion for Pendulum ngl massive missed opportunity
Surprisingly the way I’ve winning is not off the back of vice master but off the back of madam verre she be carrying most of my games I hardly had the chance to use the fusion but I just got my hands on it a few days ago so I’ll probably I have to find a better way then what I’ve been doing
I was very disappointed so not have seen dimensional fissure as a tech card. it slow your opponent down and it doesn't it matter if the monsters get banish because patronus recycles them; plus, the spells go to the grave and not the banish zone. maybe it was not nice playing it before but now with the new banlist it's time babyyyyyyyyyyy
If you mix in a few Magistus cards and my favorite surprise card (see my first comment) this deck is a rogue deck that I may have used to decimate an eldritch player.
Witchcrafter is a deck that I HATED when it came out because it was the definition of made-to-bait waifu lovers with mediocre cards. I hated it even more cuz I liked their design and theme. I'm glad that the new support makes them a wee bit better now. Although I still count it as one of the worse archetypes made in recent time (that have a gameplan so Icejade doesn't count).
I want to add for extra deck option. Since Madame Verre and Golem Aruru (and also Vice-madame) are level 8, you can splash some generic rank 8 XYZ monster. My personal pick for F2P in Master Duel is Galaxy Eyes Cipher Dragon and it's "brother". I love it when i surprised my opponent with a steal 😂
The fact that I have seen no one mention the Patronus Charm/Expecto Patronum from Harry Potter when mentioning Witchcrafter Patronus is criminal. It is right there yet no one says anything. Well I AM NOW
Ah Witchcrafters. The archetype that contains Verre, the smug spellcaster that makes me feel inappropriate things. ....... OFFICER I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG

activate souls in hand -> foolish big witch -> summon -> link into artemis -> play restage, use the revive, get souls back -> activate souls to send the restage for the draw -> search right/left hand, and you just plused

My favorite spellcaster archetype, they can splash in with any spellcaster of your choice.
M. BISON: YES! YES! YEEEEEES!!
A yes the funcrafters, been waiting for this one
Vice-Madame: Effect targets level 6 or lower Witchcrafter
……..What level 6…? There’s only 1-5, 7-8! Konami got a hidden final card somewhere?
masterpiece is literally so clutch omg
the only thing im not happy about this archetype, all witchcrafter only can actived skill once per turn, while the another can do it multiple times just by special summon and edel is useless
Can you pls do cipher explained maybe include the anime only cards. Would love to see it
Missed out on the best part of Vice Madam where Haine is holding Genni like "This is my emotional support lesbian", Genni being like "you got this, babe!" and Edel having an emotional breakdown because she tried so hard to keep Verre out of that bubble and now she's gone.
Didn't even notice this was new. I was just scrolling.
since vicemaster still missing on MD, u can pair witchcraft with magistus zoroa n play performage trick clown, juggler, hat trick for free summon, also 3x reasoning is a must for 40 deck variant
At this point I just want an anime about the monsters. The game is cool but the lore is so good
I would like to point out that with so many spells constantly going to your hand, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell is probably the most viable it's been in any deck
Discards a spell to negate a spell, pop it and lock your opponent from using it for the rest of the duel? That can instantly kill some decks!
I play a 60 cards Witchcrafter in masterduel🤣still waiting for master duel to add the fusion monster
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
the thing that kinda pisses me off about the witchcrafter cards is that their the only one of the 3 magistus spellcasters (we dont talk about Zoroa) to not get a link monster like Endymion got Selene Invoked got The Invoker of Madness hell even Spellbooks got Crowley, like hell Witchcrafter couldve been the Link extra deck of the spellcasters like we have Zoroa for Syncro, Alister for Fusion, Spellbooks for Xyz, and Endymion for Pendulum ngl massive missed opportunity
we need a good level 6 and a link monster. how much longer do we need to wait?
Add one Palladium Oracle to drop for Magicians Soul.
My favorite archetype
Yes my favourite archetype
every time i look at that smug face i can hear her saying "its so smaaaall"
If you mix in a few Magistus cards and my favorite surprise card (see my first comment) this deck is a rogue deck that I may have used to decimate an eldritch player.
Ah, rise now ye WC player! We shall dominate with VM!
Please, please, please, PLEASE NOVA, I NEED MAGICAL CITY LORE.
Is it normal to fight this archetype on anti-spell festival
I am nasty like that so I run Secret Village and Royal Decree.
Witchcrafrer golem uwuwu I love it
Pity this is not the kind of channel to explore the connection between this and other archetypes, like Magistus.
i have witchcrafter golem aruru i got her out of the spirit charmers.
Well I AM NOW
Reuploaded?
Good good yes
I thought aruru can return your own spellcasters so you can protect them. I played it and I was wrong, she kinda useless.
It can
@@robinstephenson8575 no it cannot. you can only return opponent's card or a witchcrafter spell in your gy
Take my bread away.
How dare you utter the dreaded three letter word!
This is OwO territory, good ser!
Ah Witchcrafters. The archetype that contains Verre, the smug spellcaster that makes me feel inappropriate things.
....... OFFICER I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG
verre my wife 😭
