Adam, someone who has some good editing and lighting skills could sell this kit more! Explain if it's been sitting in storage or in crates with the paint or oil spots and other type of stuff that would decrease value or anyone else feeling comfortable in flying in one! Please don’t take any of these criticism as me being a troll or an ass. I truly want the best for you and you at least managed to get a kit and assemble a good amount of time and work. I just do videos on the side for marketing purposes and do well. Best wishes!

Would like to help you out, but this was made 20 years ago. I no longer have the helicopter. It was filmed in my garage.

The videos are nice but where can you buy the Rotor Mast and the transmission with the L drive for the tail rotor? Because that's all I need, then I would build a lot safer and better air frame because that one doesn't look to safe to me!!!
loxahacefig aronald The rotor mast is custom made. Drilled at the top for the rotor head pin, midway for the upper bearing locking grub screws, and at the bottom for the secondary drive sprocket. The tail rotor is driven by a polychain style cog belt twisted 90 degrees front to rear. There are a number of industrial 90 degree gearbox drive people use or you can machine your own like the mosquito. And yes, this airframe is definitely lacking!

Been sitting around for some time from the look of it. Rusty bolts and nuts, no safety tie wires on any of them, and I was dead worried by the marking on the mainmast top hub saying "OUT OF CENTER.. That certainly does NOT inspire confidence in the kit at all. I assume this is NOT a sales video ?
Ian Turner - Hi Ian, if you go to the website and read about the Lonestar helicopter, you will note the helicopter was built in the 1990's and the company went out of business not long after - some 25 years ago. Also, much or the rust you are seeing is actually a thin film of red dust from outback Australia where it was purchased from discoloring all surfaces. Yes, a few c clips and bearing housings had some minor surface rust, but nothing structural. The out of center refers to the Stainless steel main rotor mast that looks to have not been turned between centers - a centerless grind. This was probably due to it's length - I ended up having it remade properly out of high grade aircraft chromoly. And yes, surprisingly, the only safety clips I found were on the tail rotor and the landing gear? Go figure....? Obviously kit building safety standards have come a long way since then...

Do you still have the actual swashplate from this Lonestar? if so could you post a picture of it? I am guessing that you probably bought this helo when you acquired the plans, If you restore it please post some pics. I have just begun putting my own project into motion. I got the E-Book for it from Redback Aviation. My Machine will probably be a modified version tho.

Why is it rusted?
Besides the engine exhaust pipe, there is zero rusting. What you are seeing is a build up of red dust from the Australian outback. I purchased it from an outback town that looked like a dust bowl. It was stored in an open shed and collected plenty of the red dirt grime. Also, the airframe is mainly aluminum, that does not rust.

RESPONSE: This particular helicopter was half way through a tear down and rebuild. Its light weight build and construction were very advanced for its time. Admittedly, it did need further refinements, and that is what John Uptigrove did. He actually owned a LoneStar MANY years ago. His ingenuity is what lead to the Mosquito Kit Helicopter. The LoneStar was much loved by the few that owned them, just like any chopper, once its little peculiarities were learned. Out of the 3 main models developed, this, the final model, looked the best - but was unfortunately built the worst.
