The Thule 9029xt Vertex 4 Bike Trailer Hitch Mounted Bicycle Rack features a sleek and stylish design and is compatible with both 1-1/4" and 2" receiver hitches. The 9029xt Vertex Hold Fast anti-sway cradles include reinforced rubber straps to secure bikes firmly in place. Vertex's No Sway Cage anti-sway mechanism provides extra stability and minimizes bike to bike contact. The soft grooved cushioned cradles offer superior bike protection and protect cables on the underside of the bike top tube. The unique arch design of the mast and bike arms allow for faster loading and unloading. The arched bike arms allow bikes to sit further apart and at various heights to helps prevent contact between pedals and handlebars when loading, unloading and during transport. The Vertex includes 2 quick release Hitch Switches. One enables you to tilt the mast way from your vehicle for easy access to your hatch or trunk. The other enables you to fold the bike arms down when not in use. The Hitch Switch mechanism has an audible click to reassure you that the arms and mast are securely locked in the transport position. A hide-away, retractable, locking cable stores in the rack mast and conveniently extends to lock your bikes to the rack. A Thule TSTL2 SnugTite Hitch Lock is recommended to lock your Vertex rack to your vehicle (sold separately).

Spent plenty of time on what is generally obvious-- installing the hitch (albeit needed for some). However, given the obscure instructions from Thule, would have appreciated more on the other installation issues such as straps (tricky, given the part you hook onto means forcing the strap into an upright position vs horizontally), anti-sway, etc. assembly. Further ex: It's not intuitive when first installing why there would only be 2 anti-sways. Which direction should the anti-sway face? The Thule instructions do not show nor describe.

isn't that easy for thieves to steal the rack plus the bikes by just removing by just using the wrench?

If they have the correct size wrench they could in theory remove the rack and bikes, however it would be a rather larger and cumbersome removal with bikes loaded. This bike rack has been discontinued since this video, and all modern Thule bike racks come with some sort of locking mechanism to lock the rack in the hitch receiver. Hope this helps.
