I am a Singaporean, served NS ... besides JB town, Malacca is the place in Peninsula I have been the most, to fly there, to ride motorcycle there, to drive there, took coach ... It's a pleasure to fly to Bukit Berendam Airport .. the tower controller gave us direct left Base for Runway 21, or right base for Runway 03 ... Beautiful place, beautiful beach ... Beautiful memories ... We intentionally took the main road instead of National Highway, at speed took us less than two hours, really fast!
Fantastic flight review my friend. These Emb190- E2 are amazing jets. These howling engines are really cool.Did you know that Scoot uses Athens airport for refuelling these jets on their delivery?Best wishes,Cheers from Athens
Those days, I suppose it hardly changes even till now ... the only international flights in and out of Bukit Berendam airport is Medan, Pekanbaru ... Hardly any domestic flight unless chartered
Hi thanks for this video, helpful! Just wondering if how did you travel from Malacca airport to your hotel? Was it easy to get Grab or taxi from Malacca airport? Thanks in advance.
"Crew in charge Tirta...." sounds like a very Indonesian name lol. I believe Indonesians and those doing medical vacations would benefit the most from this route since many of them go to Penang and Malacca for medical checkups lol. But then...they can just fly to KL and take buses, or, in my case, drive from there to Malacca. With TR being the sole YIA-SIN operator, I can see them jacking up prices for YIA-Malacca. But then...I'm based out of DFW (and soon, IAH and CLL)....
Sorry i was running out of time so i had to fast forward , at what the lattitude did the plane fly ? And did you Find it noisier than the normal a320 / b737 ?
No worries and thank you for watching! We flew at a cruising altitude 20,000 feet but maintained it for only 5 minutes. I find the E190 much quieter than the A320 and B737.
In total around 4 hours. It could be shorter due to the celebrations for the inaugural flight (including photo taking etc) which took sometime and the immigration at Malacca was really very slow. Oh and one thing to note is I live very close to the airport in Singapore.
It isn’t actually as AirAsia, Malindo Air and a few foreign carriers used to fly to Melaka as well. Scoot is currently the only scheduled airline that flies there in 2024.
Not to bring down the mood of the video, but the distance between Singapore and Malacca is really where high-speed rail should be the option - it's right in the middle of being a bit too far to drive for a commute, yet too near that flying is really inefficient and pollutive. Personally the only pull factor would be getting to visit and use the facilities at Changi Airport. Otherwise, driving is cheaper and you can stop by any of the towns along the route.
Great points mentioned! Indeed I think one of the factors is to enjoy Changi and of course to beat the traffic jams especially during the festive season.
@termitesarenotgoodforhomes 😂😂 row 1 has great legroom though! One thing I forgotten to mention is the seat padding is decent and definitely much better than their A320/321 NEO.
@@FlyingAsia Glad someone has revived Malacca Airport. We have used Scoot for years ( Sydney-Singapore ). In fact the only bad experiences we have had in years was with SIA & Qatar when we were gifted a trip to Europe. Go Scoot.
It was a very short approach indeed but am guessing if we had landed on the opposite runway the views were probably be not as good. Thank you for watching Sundram!
I am Malaysian, Malaccan, feel happy which the airport finally re-operating, hopefully it bring business & time/ cost saving for both destination.
Hopefully this route remains profitable for Scoot and is here to stay. Thank you for watching Chen Hau!

Thank you for sharing your memories Boh Seng! I really enjoy Malacca and fingers crossed this route remains profitable for Scoot in the long run.
@@FlyingAsia I hope .. could have ILS for 03 from the sea, as haze and morning Sumatra rain may make VFR arrival difficult
@bohsengchua7122 Guess I got lucky with 21.. views from the sea for 03 won’t be as scenic. I have always wanted to be a pilot, safe flights to you!
@@FlyingAsia I have already retired, leave only memories
How does you serving NS relate to anything about you going to Malacca often?
I think the welcome you got on arrival was very special. A nice touch. Nice video! *I love flying on the Embraer.
It was indeed special and it’s my first time experiencing a water salute. Thank you for watching Mark!
Nice trip report! My first time flying Scoot was on the E190 during the inaugural day of E190 operations into Miri. It really is a quiet aircraft.
Thank you for watching! Ohh yes I am one of your subscribers, I seen that video of yours.
@@FlyingAsia thanks for the sub and watching! 😁 love your videos
Wow! Thanks Scoot Singapore. Melaka becoming top destination for Singaporean & Chinese Mainland. Princess Hang Li Po & Langsamana Cheng Ho
Thank you for watching Jamil, I really enjoy Melaka’s history and architecture!

Wow nice information you have Yannis, I didn’t know that. And yes those howling engines are really interesting 😂
Great review, the E2's certainly look like a new aircraft to try flying low cost around SEA!
You definitely should one day, it really is an interesting experience and perfect when traveling in pairs. Thank you for watching mate!
It really depend, if during school holiday flying will be better as jam In causeway can go up to 2 hours and driving 3 hours to reach malacca
Fully agreed and probably during festive seasons as well. Thank you for watching Hanwei!
10:05 spotted North and South Highway Melaka Exit
I was guessing the same during the approach 😂 thank you for watching!

A big Wellcome to Malacca.
Thank you! I definitely enjoyed my stay.
Thank you for recording this experience. I always wanted to know how does it feel like going though a water salute. ✨ At least my dream came true 🎉
I have always wanted to experience the water salute too and am glad I managed to share it online! Thank you for watching Arissa 😃
This sure is Scoot's shortest flight! Haha
I'm wondering if this route will be feasible in the long run though
I am sure it is haha and my guess coming close should be Pekanbaru. Fingers crossed this route will be here to stay. Thank you for watching Isaac!
Great review mate! Hope this flight will be profitable in the long run.
I am hoping it will be here to stay! Thank you for watching Terry.
Hi thanks for this video, helpful! Just wondering if how did you travel from Malacca airport to your hotel? Was it easy to get Grab or taxi from Malacca airport? Thanks in advance.
My pleasure, glad you found this informative! I took a grab from the airport to my hotel and back. It’s very convenient and really easy to get a grab.
Proudly made in Brasil!
A beautiful aircraft!
Awesome video ❤

that’s my brother @2:29! he’s an engineer for scoots a320 and e190-e2 fleet
Ahh nice! I had a quick chat with him about the new E2, a very friendly guy.
Yup. He's the principal engineer for scoot. Hes my friend We are in the same aviation industry
@fychannel851 Nice to hear, thanks for keeping the aircraft safe!

Fully agreed! I missed this point in my summary.
Thank you for e loading of this video!

Thank you for watching Mohamad!
Singapore is best fly
Thank you for watching!
What is the total time taken from the time you left home till you reached your hotel ?
In total around 4 hours. It could be shorter due to the celebrations for the inaugural flight (including photo taking etc) which took sometime and the immigration at Malacca was really very slow. Oh and one thing to note is I live very close to the airport in Singapore.
is this the first commercial flight land in Melaka Airport?
It isn’t actually as AirAsia, Malindo Air and a few foreign carriers used to fly to Melaka as well. Scoot is currently the only scheduled airline that flies there in 2024.
29” seat pitch is a tiny bit better than on the Airbuses
I could certainly feel a slight difference compared to the Airbus A320 family which is surprising. Thank you for watching Steve!
Tks
I have plan to fly to malacca instead of driving
Thank you for watching Bob, flying definitely is a more relaxing experience compared to driving.

Melaka doesn't have rails. Rail travel is foreign to Melaka
Just curious. How tall are you? 29" seat pitch is a bit squeezy.
I am around 173cm. Pitch is definitely not the best but acceptable on short flights like these 😅
@@FlyingAsia Good for me but most of my western friends would probably get into a fight with the passenger in front :)

Jalan-Jalan
Nice name!
The worst airline in aviation historie
Shame that you did not had a pleasant experience with Scoot..
Scoot is one of the better budget air. Don't listen to comments by people who may have never flown before.
