    I’ve never seen cutting up a filter after a change. Nice

      We don’t usually, but thought it would be fun since it was the first oil change on that machine and it had been making a bad noise at times during gear shifts.

      Sure. It's really not too hard, especially with how good the owners manual explains it all with illustrations.

    Haha I’ve lost count of how many top ends I’ve had to rebuild because of them old filters, new ones you have to get a hammer to put the cover back on if they’re backwards. Most of the machines I’ve seen it happen on are running fram filters that haven’t been marked. Also, valves need checked 😉 probably don’t need adjusted but I’ve seen em tight tight like 3 thou before

    So why you didn’t do a valve adjustment

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  3 роки тому

      Didn't seem to need a valve adjustment at 100 miles.

    So the service doesn’t need the differentials fluid to be changed?

      That I’m not sure of. We were just doing an oil change “how to” video.

    What kind of oil did you use 10 W 30 0r 10W-40 and do you know any places to get a oil filter online?

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  4 роки тому

      I used 10W 40. I bought the filter from the dealership, but my friend has gotten it from Partzilla.

      I don't. I ended up buying the oil and filter from the dealership.

    Also don't trust Honda when you purchase a filter that it's the right filter even though you've given them all the information you could possibly give them for the bike.

    How much oil does it take?

  • @dlhailey636
    @dlhailey636 4 роки тому +1

    Manual states 3.2 quarts
    You added a gallon?
    That’s 4 quarts

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  4 роки тому +2

      Which manual are you using? We followed page 147 of the manual that came with the machine which is for a 2020 Foreman Rubicon Deluxe (TRX520 FA7). It states to add approximately 4.0 US quarts of oil to the crankcase, let it idle for 3-5 mins, let it sit for 2-3 mins, and then add more oil if necessary.

      Southwest ORV
      You are correct. Thanks for the reply
      To clarify
      I was wrong.
      Bc I was looking at the 520 manual transmission model
      It holds 3.2 quarts
      All other models hold 4 quarts
      Mine is a 520 fm6
      EPS with footshift

      Nice. Glad we both had it right for our machines. :)

    • @SouthwestORV

      Just you. 😁 That's what new oil looks like, or oil after 100 miles in this case. Might have looked watery with the flashlight shining through it. Thanks for watching.

    The oil filter is in backwards if you read i side of it it says outside or inside😭😭😂😂

    • @SouthwestORV

      We put it in right. The story in the video was a time when he did an oil change and someone had put it in backwards. Lol. Like you said, the filter says which way it goes.

      Southwest ORV what oil filter part number did you use

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  4 роки тому +2

      This is the part number that is recommended on Partzilla for the 2020 Deluxe model (TRX 520 FA7): Honda 15412-HP7-A01.
      www.partzilla.com/product/honda/15412-HP7-A01?ref=49b3d9cd8e4cbfd1f9b9fbfad305a89f25a45266

      Southwest ORV I actually went to auto zone and bought the same thing but it’s Kot the factory filter. So the spring doesn’t have anything to press against when putting cover back on :/

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  4 роки тому +1

      So that part number wasn't the right one? I remember the dealership actually gave us the wrong one and it sounds similar to what you had. My buddy does a lot of service work on atv's and had the right one on hand so we installed it. I don't know exactly what part number he had, but he orders off of Partizlla.
