93 here in East Texas. What a relief! The ten day forecast is showing some days in the 80’s soon so that’s exciting!👍🏻It rained yesterday and on and off all day today. It made it hot and humid though when the sun finally came out. 😮I planted out all my onion seeds and my brassicas today. The kale I planted a couple days ago and the red Russian is winning so far. It’s up and happy to be alive! Love it!

Today the heat index in Texas was another 113. I planted 4 purple sweet potatoes that were popping eyes galore. Shoot they were out of the soil in 3 days! I might not get taters but the critters will have leaves. 😊

I grew celery one year here in southeast Texas and I had so much I couldn’t pick it fast enough. Use chicken manure and they will grow like crazy 😊

Glad to see fall planting info. It’s almost that time here. My mom, brothers, and cousins got hit hard in Hahira, Lakeland, and Lake Park. They’ll be recouping pecan tree farm for a long time. Looks like our weather will be great Saturday for Petals. 👩‍🌾💚

I am just getting into really planting a big fall crop here in East Tennessee. Zone 7A. Broccoli, lettuce, kale, collards, mustard, snow peas, bunching onions, and big onions. Some of my seed is not very good but giving it a go!!!

I don't grow celery, but I use large collard stems in its place. Same size, shape, and when it is cold it is sweeter than celery. Compare your stalks of celery to collard stems. They look the same.

Hoping the last of the 100s will be this Saturday. I just finally, this week put all of my broccoli, kale, transplants, in two long raised beds with the white insect cover. I’ve waited, waited, for cooler temps, but I started them sooo early. Well a good portion, didn’t take it well. It’s sickening. What I feared, is happening. Apparently my brassicas are like me and believe when it says, feels like 102, that it really is 102🙁 now what? 🤷‍♀️

I started some Plathora onion seeds I bought from Hoss several years ago and I was pleasantly surprised at the germination. I wouldn't be afraid to say I got at least 85% rate. I also started some DP Sweets and Chanti red onions.

I'm trying grow 1015 onion seeds. Most of my first attempt died. I'm not sure if I underwatered or overwatered them. Tried again and they seem to be doing much better, but I'm still worried about how to water them. Can you give some tips on how to know when the seedlings need water? When to water? How much to water? When to start using fertilizer when you water? etc. Thanks PS - I ordered plants from you to fill in where the seedlings died. When in November do you ship to Cols GA?
