I'm still a Hubble fan. This is a great video showing the differences, but I still prefer Hubble's incredible textures, translucent colors, and vibe. Even this many years later Hubble images make me feel awe and wonder.
Now we can see the forest AND the trees. ;)

Lovely! Goes to simply show why there are three different telescopes up there, instead of just one. Your comparison of the distance covered by VGer in relation the JWST's gorgeous image is utterly thought-provoking!

To think we can enjoy such high resolution on an image of a feature so far away .... although I s'pose 1300 LY is a local jpb for JWST!
My question is: Given the light JWST has thrown onto several theories and assumptions, which portion of the EM spectrum do you feel the next generation of space-borne instruments could most profitably investigate? Might it be the not-yet-announced successor to CHANDRA, or is something else more pressing or worthy of the sort of budget needed?
I am always completely mind blown as to how many galaxies are our there in even the smallest darkest patches of sky... each containing billions of stars and planets. There simply must be advanced life out there... I am also saddened to know, that unless we discover a way to travel hundreds of times the speed of light, we will never reach any of them!
When it comes to choosing between telescopes I would not. Each has a talent, a way of 'sensing' a reality. If I am working on my engine I can see the parts but sometimes I have to close my eyes and 'see' with my fingers where intricate parts are. Touch is as important as Sight in forming a model of what I am trying to fix. We use our senses in a myriad of ways to gain a more perfect understanding. Such should be the same with telescopes, not a partiality of choice but of a truer perception.
Keep up these awesome videos. Love how you present the science while keeping it understandable for non-academics.

It is always even more fun to listen to your interesting explanations when I have taken pictures of the objects out of my backyard 🤩! And I did it just with a telescope on a tracking mount and my daily dslr screwed behind it 😆. Okok, it took quite a lot of learning and getting into postprocessing like stacking and calibration frames, but at a scale that my little MacBook Air could handle it - and that fascinates me just as well!
WJST. The yet known amount of galaxies is scary. The more we see, the bigger the known universe gets. As i was 12 years old, the scientificly proofed age of universe was 5 billion years. Now, 50 years later the scientificly proofed age of universe is 14 billion years. I wonder, how big/old the known universe will be in 1000 years.😅
Thank you for an amazing upload. I wonder how many paused @6:46 where the three images from each telescope *OUTSTANDING* I had it on a large screen, darkened room all lights out and, WOW! Unsure just how long I lost myself peering closer and closer at each image, all three with so much to appreciate and marvel at.
Unsure about others, but the night sky has fascinated me since a very small child, now an old dude my wonder at the night sky just increases.

Perhaps create images from Euclid and Hubble the same size as JWST to compare resolutions...
What if I don't want somebody's *_"best guess?"_* Where can I see the best shots from the Euclid telescope without rendering, colonizing, or digital enhancements? I want to see what's there and how it looks to _my_ eyes. I don't like when people blow out the color saturation in photos either.
I was expecting to see them at the end overlapped into one image for a final view. Just like combining different color images of a flower to make a full spectrum view.
To each his own preference, oh well.
5:08 : Ok, within the jwst image, on the right side, there is the head of a dog, as a matter of fact, it's my dog! A bernedoodle. I wish I can post the image here. 😂
It is time everyone came to the realisation a name change is in order due to the clarity with which we now see the nebula. I nominate: Jar Jar Binks Nebula.
Seeing this picture makes me think they should change the name to the headless horseman. Do you see it?

My takeaway -- the Webb telescope gives much clearer and detailed pictures of super distant galaxies -- it's a remarkable feat of technology, the JWST
I'd rather see the images than you.
Everything in the background of that JWST image is so many more entire galaxies?!? Wow! WOW!!! And for added effect, a third WOW!!!🤯 🤯🤯

I"ve imaged the horsehead many times and never knew there were so many galaxies behind just a small portion of it. Incredible!

I'm not sure about the horsehead. Could you please overlay a very simple drawing of the horsehead on the photo of the nebula in your next video?
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who has trouble seeing the similarities between a horse head and the nebula. To me it looks more like a mushroom head
it got its name long before high resolution images, it's easier to see at 0:52 in the video. It looks a bit like a knight from a chess set.

What telescope is Euclid? I’ve never heard of. I might’ve heard of Euclid, but I don’t know what is that like the European space agencies space telescope

3:21 there’s like 23 spiral galaxies that you can see in this image alone and that’s just the ones that you can make out. I’m sure they’re all spiral or semi spiral. There’s probably a bunch of elliptical galaxies as well but that’s crazy.
3:08 that’s crazy. You can see at least seven spiral galaxies in the background behind the horse head nebula. I call it the king cobra head nebula because fuck that horse. It looks more like a king cobra to me, but look at all of them I mean, what’s that defined one that you only see a side profile of just above the top of the head on the left middle
The horse head nebula is just a tip of a I don’t know what you would call that like a a flared out section of the nebula. It looks more like a cobra with its hood flared out then a horse head to me. You should call it the king cobra nebula and it’s only a part of the nebula, there’s one star right at the top that was just for not too long ago on a top cosmic time scale it’s probably only a few hundred thousand years old plus however long it took the light to reach us
