  • Here it is, and a couple days earlier than expected! As promised, this is my rendition of REMEMBER 1996! Hope you all enjoy!
There will be a two month hiatus between this video and my next video, as I will be studying abroad in Poland starting May 7, and will return June 7, and during that time I will be unable to work on REMEMBER videos. But once I return home, I will be sure to make up for lost time. On the Fourth of July, tune in for REMEMBER 2012!

SAME 😭 it was some of the darkest years of my childhood, yet there were so many cool, interesting things happening in the world around me i can’t help but look back at that time with a bit of wonder, and a bit of guilt that we were the only ones who were lucky enough to be alive and young at that time and place in history.

Honestly there isn’t even anything worth memory in the current era we’re in. Everyone is so uptight and getting into everyone’s business and being asses. And everything is so depressing which heavily reflects today’s music. I fucking hate it right now and I want to go back, hopefully in the future we’ll have more positivity and “cheerfulness” in all of media, please especially in music 😅

you found the perfect word i was looking for to describe this current era: overstimulated. thats it. we're bombarded with so many projects too quickly thanks to technology. now we just dont have time to just "be" and sit with things.

Wow, it must have been so rad being a young teenager in 96. Culture was at its peak, we had the perfect amount of technology- modern conveniences and safety without sacrificing our privacy and freedom.
I was a child then myself, must’ve been around 8 or 9 in 96? I have literal guilt over having had the privilege of experiencing childhood in the 90s. I really wish we could give that gift to the little ones coming up these days, but alas…Pandora’s box has been opened. 💔

Nice video, I remember this. In my opinion, 1996 was probably the last days of old school vibes. After Tupac died, and then we went through 1997 to early 2000s, everything was starting to change, whether it be for the better or worse. Music was quite different, old school music was beginning to deteriorate, rap and hiphop seemed to be less popular, movies began to make a crap load of money than ever before, classical/operatic music and plays would become extinct, technology changed l, drastically, more new games and gaming consoles evolved, and etc...

The mid 90’s starting at 1994 is really when things started to shift. It’s just that there were still a lot of outdated technology still somewhat relevant at the time. By 1997-98 things seemed dramatically different from the early 90’s. Then the rest was history. The internet is what really changed a lot of things. Then again it’s all about perspective. People back then were saying the same thing people are “oh the good old days.” Lol

I was 9 years old! A true 90s kid! During this time my parents just got a divorce, but honestly it was probably the best thing that happened to me. We moved from the Hood to literally the richest county in America (Loudoun) in 95'. I was still adjusting to my new environment in 96' but everyday was something new and special. I began to live the American Dream Kid version! Lots of exposure to new things like a PC (ski free, Doom, Tiger Woods PGA tour, Solitaire, pinball) and video game systems like Sega. I was thrusted into this new culture of endless possibilities! I wouldnt trade it for the world! Im so thankful for my experiences in the 90s and the early 2000s!!!

1996 seems like a weird year. I don't really remember it because I was only 2/3 at the time, but based on this video, it seems like it was primarily a mid 90s year with some late 90s influence kicking in. On one hand, there are still some pure grunge hits from Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, etc. (despite the genre declining since Cobain's death) and some mid 90s-esque alternative bands (Bush, Smashing Pumpkins, pre-Dizzy Goo Goo Dolls, Oasis, Blur etc.), and on the other hand you have newer rock bands like 311 who were like a precursor to Nu-Metal and Marilyn Manson. There were more pop rock acts like The Wallflowers, and Alanis Morissette was more popular than ever. Also, there are more pop acts like the Spice Girls breaking in (though the whole teen-pop craze wouldn't really take over until like 1997/1998), and there was also the whole Macarena craze. On the gaming side, although 2D gaming was still dominant through most of the year, the PS1 was popularizing gaming with Crash Bandicoot, and the release of the N64 and Super Mario 64 pretty much set the 3D standard.

1996 was one of my favorites. I was 9, Nintendo 64 and Shadows of the Empire blew my mind.
ID4 came out, the Star Wars Prequels were announced.
It was just an iconic year.

I loved living through the 1990s. Sure it had its problems but there was no constant terrorist attacks, climate change, coronavirus, political correctness gone crazy, social media and people obsessed with smartphones. It was simple and fun. Oh yeah and no stupid skinny jeans either, I love the baggy jeans/jacket/suit look.

Wow the memories. ‘If it makes you happy’ was the first song I played when I got my first car in 96 and it was a 83 Ford Mustang....I used to blare that song on my blank tape I made for my car lol Music was great then.
