Same. Had a young family member die last year, the Green Ranger died and the voice of Batman died. Life feels so heavy now, but this reminds me of when life was light and carefree.
Late 90s to early 2000s. For some reason those years felt more alive and positive. For me at least. Maybe because I was young and all I cared about are school, friends, playing video games, going to the movies every now and then, buying magazines to read about upcoming games, watching Music videos and basically just having fun. Columbine happened when you were in high school? I was in my senior year of college when it happened, and it was a little blip on campus, talked about for a few days, then everyone forgot about it (probably because of finals week).
@@pika62221 Yes, also a '99 HS grad here. And Columbine changed our final month in school (we graduated in May). I remember they banned all trench coats, backpacks, and tee shirts with satanic or "dark" imagery. And you got wrote up if you said anything offensive to another student. I was glad to be done, because it was the start of the sensitive Political Correctness culture that we are in today.
I don't necessarily hate my life, but I just miss the freedom of being a kid and running around having fun with friends instead having to focus on work and responsibilities lol
This is THE EXACT feeling i get when watching this, like i physically ache to go back to this era of time, so many good memories of that decade, im very glad i was old enough to remember even tho i was 8, i still remember literally ALL of these movies, songs, games, shows, world events as clear as day, and almost everyone feels like the 90s were only 10 yrs ago and not actually 20 yrs ago..
I miss 1999. I turned 15 that year and entered my High School years. I also got into watching Xena Warrior Princess, Mortal Kombat: Conquest, WWF / WWE wrestling, and WCW wrestling on TV that same year. I saw Star Wars Episode 1 at the theater, I got into listening to the music of Queen that year, even got into listening to old 8 track tapes too, thanks to my Mom and Dad having Queen on CD and 8 Track, all in 1999.
I turned 17 in 1999 and I‘m so grateful that I experienced the late 1990s and very early 2000s with a decent age. It was a magical time. And it has nothing to do with being so young, even my parents and elders felt the same way. Music was awesome, girls looked so hot (compared with their nerdy style today), people were more natural and positive. Living now in a completely material world where almost no one has friends and trying to be an artificial influencer is probably the worst version of the future ever. Even teens hanging around with depressions.
@micko x it's much different. Maybe not as romanticized as this statement above but it was definitely different. More narcissistic people today. More grandiosity, more histrionics. That you can't deny. The data is there. I do agree , ignorance is bliss. That's a two way street.
@micko x There were these things, but they were not so widespread. Even statistics support this. People have no idea how to be truly social any more. Instagram influencers are the epitome of narcissism, and people die trying to get selfies these days. The Left and Right were not so divided as they are today. If you think it wasn't better in many ways back then, you have no idea, and you probably weren't around then.
Well that was a pretty good trip down memory lane. I'm 32 now and I still think 97-01 were my favourite years whilst growing up, friends, music, films, wwf, video games all good.
Everything was better back then , music , movies , society , race relations , sports , morals , humour. Just everything. I hope a day comes when we can return to these days.
It's a longing to relive the best times of our lives but knowing we can't. All we can do is peer through the window to the past. Like, imagine if you could only play an amazing game once or watch a great movie one time. Then years later be like "I really want to watch that movie again" but you can't......Nostalgia is such a bitch. But I love it.
It hasn’t ruined us lol. There’s just far less privacy, but you still have the choice to live your life the way you want. Even if you want it to be carefree as in the 90s. I have friends who hardly even use social media, but their life’s full of traveling, living, experiencing and growing. Your choice.
I miss the 90s, less stress and things were cheaper. I remember going out playing basketball with friends or just hanging out in the park....leta bring back those times
Fox Kids, Fox Family Channel, Disney Afternoon, Disney's One Too, Playhouse Disney, Toon Disney, Kids' WB, The WB Television Network, Nicktoons in 1991-99, All shows from Cartoon Network Studios in 1993-99, etc?
Damn I can only imagine how awesome it was watching MTV during this time and getting high at the same time. Entertained the entire day without getting up! Lol
Ok, now I'm just depressed! The onset of overwhelming, crippling nostalgia! Even the shit I hated then like boy bands triggers that feeling! The 90's, '96-'99 especially were an absolute blast for me!!!!

Me too! I feel like crying 😢. 90’s were the best decade for me. Everything turned to shit after 9/11.
Andrew Jones I could not stand Korn either especially in high school had a class mate who was obsessed with the band and wore the bands shirts a lot and the gothic type and braided his hair and grew it out long.
Will... I too graduated 99. We had a lot of fun and our whole lives ahead of us...damn what happened? One day you wake up and you’re almost forty and the whole world has lost it mind.
I remember 1999 very well, and the fact that Britney Spears appears in this montage like 6 or 7 times makes complete sense. I don’t think younger people can fathom how big of a megastar she was back then. Her image was literally everywhere you looked.
It's amazing of how the year 1999 was the best for what news, entertainment, sports, celebrities, music videos, fashion, and everything else was covered in the world.
Damn. My heart is literally hurting now. I miss this. I know that saying this now won't mean much (given the current socio-economic and socio-political climate), but we're meant to cherish our time & appreciate much. Easier said than done today, I know. Now I wish I'd have appreciated more of what was featured in this tear-jerker of a masterpiece just a short 21 years ago. How painful it is to know that we can never go back.
Fox Kids, SNES, Disney Afternoon, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Color, Kids' WB, The WB Television Network, Fox Family Channel, Disney's One Too, Playhouse Disney, Nicktoons(including the classic SpongeBob), Toon Disney, Playstation, Sega Genesis, etc.
Having 3 going on 4 children right now it gives me a new appreciation of the stories that my parents and even grandparents told me of when they were children. How something could seem so far distant in the past to one person, and just a little while ago to the other.
You mean you wouldn’t want to be a 10 year old going through a trans racial crisis while telling your lunch lady what your pronouns are so she doesn’t offend you when handing you your conflict free cashew milk? Lol 😂

If you were really born in 1990, then you should at least be able to remember 1994. Most people can remember being 4, but you claim you only remember age 7 onwards, that's really unusual. I was born in 1993 and I can remember 1997-1999. And I know many people born in 1993 can at least remember the late 90s.
1999 will always be a very special year to me, i was 16 and fell in love with a girl from school, everytime when i hear a 1999 song, it always brings me back to that special fase in my life, now at 33 im realising that it wat perhaps the best fase of my life and that makes me sad.

To me late 90’s fashion still looks great. The tops and pants girls used to wear. The way they did their hair and makeup. I miss it. I even miss the weird trend in metallic/shiny pants.
Much better than all the fashion nova clones walking around now. And I say this as a woman. The 90s had such a relaxed, comfy but sporty look for women.
No bs, outside majority of the time doing physical activities Watching the best cartoons/anime either early or at night. Actually in person communicating with each other...

justin daniels Don't feel bad, the 2000s were just as great as the 90s. I'm not feeling the 2010s. Could be because I'm getting old and turning 30 by 2019.
I was 12 in 1999. Best year of my life. I had an original PlayStation a game boy pocket and Pokémon just came out. Tv shows were dragon ball z Ed edd and eddy courage the coweredly dog.
I know these are the hits and standout moments in entertainment for this year, but it really seemed like every faculty of entertainment was firing off on all cylinders. Every genre was pumping out classics or legendary artists for the future, technology really bursted (video game systems really producing their best games), countless original, incredible films, TV shows were on FIRE (Simpsons, Family Guy's birth, South Park). What a year, wow. Oh and Shania-fucking-Twain bro.

The best times. An era marked with just enough technology to facilitate comfort without making us co-dependent on it. When our worries were more about someone picking up the phone while you surfed rather than your election results being influenced. Good times! At least we'll have UA-cam to remind us of 'em.
Nora Medromi personally it was an amazing time for me, it felt like our generation was experiencing a lot of things for the first time, where as things feel more diluted these days. i can’t quite explain very well but sadly i think social media has had a huge negative effect on the teens of today.
@@Rossa4444 I was also 13 at the time and the time was really great. Because we were teenagers. That distorts the reality a bit. My parents always dreamed of the '70s and I couldn't understand why. Today I understand it very well. Freaking nostalgia.
Max G. Qanon is bullshit 🤔 cuz it’s the only “conspiracy” that encourages you to seek you’re own answers by doing research it doesn’t tell you to believe like the news does which is probably all you watch 🐑 ..
This hits different when you lived through it... Every year or generation had its crappy moments... But everything was so much more simple back then. 😩
There was something so unique and authentic about the 90s... Too bad we cannot go back in time. The late 90s and early 00s will always be the golden years for me.

Columbine happened when you were in high school? I was in my senior year of college when it happened, and it was a little blip on campus, talked about for a few days, then everyone forgot about it (probably because of finals week).
Heh, same as me :D
@@pika62221 Yes, also a '99 HS grad here. And Columbine changed our final month in school (we graduated in May). I remember they banned all trench coats, backpacks, and tee shirts with satanic or "dark" imagery. And you got wrote up if you said anything offensive to another student. I was glad to be done, because it was the start of the sensitive Political Correctness culture that we are in today.

This was such a weird year. I was 16 about to turn 17. The waves of emotions is nostalgic. It hurts so much to watch this.
Same here! I truly feel the tears welling up. We didn’t know how good life was 😢
Heads up - we’re the old dicks now (born 85) - very Friday I listened to the Vengaboys to get in the mood for party 🤭😅😂
You should make a vlog 👍🏼
This is THE EXACT feeling i get when watching this, like i physically ache to go back to this era of time, so many good memories of that decade, im very glad i was old enough to remember even tho i was 8, i still remember literally ALL of these movies, songs, games, shows, world events as clear as day, and almost everyone feels like the 90s were only 10 yrs ago and not actually 20 yrs ago..
Lol I’m the same way with the 90’s in general. I was a teenager in the 90’s. Fun times taken for granted.
Loved 1999, such great memories.
Digimon?
I turned 17 in 1999 and I‘m so grateful that I experienced the late 1990s and very early 2000s with a decent age. It was a magical time. And it has nothing to do with being so young, even my parents and elders felt the same way. Music was awesome, girls looked so hot (compared with their nerdy style today), people were more natural and positive. Living now in a completely material world where almost no one has friends and trying to be an artificial influencer is probably the worst version of the future ever. Even teens hanging around with depressions.
Highlight this one! ^^^
@micko x it's much different. Maybe not as romanticized as this statement above but it was definitely different. More narcissistic people today. More grandiosity, more histrionics. That you can't deny. The data is there. I do agree , ignorance is bliss. That's a two way street.
@micko x what oppression?
@micko x Umm what?

It's a longing to relive the best times of our lives but knowing we can't. All we can do is peer through the window to the past. Then years later be like "I really want to watch that movie again" but you can't......Nostalgia is such a bitch. But I love it.

Bright colors and vibrant clothes
The year I got married. Still married an 4 kids. My oldest is 16. Not long from now she'll be on her own. 😭. Maybe that's why I'm watching these videos. I know the clock is ticking and my kids will face the word as young adults.
Rafael Benavidez times have changed
Wtf you are crying like kid.
I was 5 in 1999. Life was simpler and now I feel like an old man.
@@Sahilbc-wj8qk OK and???
@@scottknode898 perfect reasoning 👍
Damn so much stuff. 99 was the peak of the 90s, the best decade for me, pure nostalgia. And boy the amount of work to make this video, insane!
What if, Pokemon moved to Kids' WB?
@@brianodonnell4496 1999 Was Better Than 2012.
Never felt so old. Lot of nostalgia. Thanks for making this.
Damn cant we just go back! I was 16 turning 17 in September of 99... what an awesome year!
1999 VS 2010.
Seeing the sopranos almost made me cry. Rip james
Hey who ate my gabagool.
simply...one of the best years
***** why not 99?
Screw a COVID vaccine - We need to go back to the 90’s
Time machine, Elon Musk - GET ON THAT!
Yeah dude
1) Time travels is absolutely impossible. Time would need to exist and have some sort of impact on the fabric of space for that to be even super-remotely feasible.
2) you're asking probably the "wrongerst" person. Elon needs to get on sanity, ironically as he's a psychologist, albeit a pisspoor one.
Have a lovely day madam
Some people will bring Covid back in time
he probably had it thats why he is rich now
