I was fortunate enough to have hot passes for this race (I was 17, it's a long story, lol). Stallone, Newman, and Letterman were all there. After Franchitti crashed, they cleared out his pitbox, and I got to watch the rest of the race literally sitting on pit wall. PT was pitted just behind Dario's pits, and I was able to watch him burnout from his pit stops literally two feet from my face. I cannot describe how amazing this was.
One of the greatest races ever. The drama of the racing to, during and after the pit stops is amazing! I won't put anything in this comment to spoil the race for anyone who hasn't seen it. Enjoy!!!

It’s wild how the skyline has changed since then. I wish this race would move to Montreal given the attendance figures and political issues the race in Toronto causes
I wonder how much not having cigarette advertising money now has played a role in Indycars we see today not changing as that much year after year. Same tub for a while
I wonder if these cigarette sponsor restrictions will survive covid. When things get back to normal every area will need as much money flow as they can get and central banks shouldn't keep printing this much money lol
@@Willbrse considering it was a governmental restriction that the auto racing series worldwide abide by, i doubt that. no one saw the recession nor covid coming, and those two situations heavily ruined the money coming into racing.

It's sad to see how far the Toronto GP has fallen, in terms of attendance. These days, the race probably doesn't draw 1/5th of the crowd it use to 20 to 30 years ago. It's probably time to move the Canadian race to another circuit.

Pretty sure that's just how it was recorded, tape or something like that in the mix of things. Not entirely sure what causes it though.

Why don’t you upload the 2020 races?
Same reason why they don't stream practice and qualifying anymore. Their contract with NBC doesn't allow it.
