Appreciate the honest review. I recently picked up the Wilco Solo XXL version. So far I like the quality and features, but damn the price! Since you have had yours for 3+ years it's good to know what I should look forward to. But like you said you don't have much of a choice with a Silverado. My Silverado is a 2002 and not many aftermarket bumpers with swing out tire carrier integrated. Plus I wanted something quick and easy to hold my 35" tire. Definitely didn't want to throw it in my camper shell or on my roof rack. This was only decent choice.

I’m wondering if the Wilco tailgate that they make for a spare is a better option

I just learned this product existed and got fairly excited. I am not aware of any after market bumpers available that can hold a tire for my truck (Titan XD). Your video is the second review I watched and both had significant problems with their carrier. Total bummer. Thanks for the heads up

Excellent honest review, thanks, will give me pause to look to at other options for Jeep GC.

thanks for the review. I was looking at one of these for my 4Runner since I don't really like the looks of the bumpers. You are right, these are high and if they have long term issues like this then I may have to look at something custom.

Do you have a video of your water tank install on your rig? I have a Jeep Commander and I was thinking of doing the same thing.

Having an issue... once I insert the tire carrier into the hitch and align the desired holes, I begin to tighten the tire carrier bolt, and once it secured and tight the holes no longer match up. Therefore I can not get my locking pin to slide all the way through to secure the tire carrier. Any tips?

Team 125 Overland yeah man I got two 7/16 sockets and inserted them on both sides sliding through enough but leaving enough room for my 19mm socket to tighten up.

Just got one. I agree on the price being high, but it is on par with the industry. Hitch mounted carriers arent a dime a dozen (yet). But you cannot get swingouts for less. You definitely cannot get a full bumper swingout for under $2k. My number is 7 out of 10.

    Thanks
    5 our of 10 ...Yikes
And a shame other truck bumper options are not available yet hundreds for Toyota’s and jeeps
Are you suggesting the base metal prep did not include metal wash and rust was on the base metal before it was powder coated ?
Or rusted after premature chipping ?
    How much chipping.
Chips from impacts , gravel wear points?
