I’m in California, I bought a vehicle, but in my shopping I had 12 hard inquiries done in a one month period, I have heard (and I can’t remember where) that in Ca. if you BUY a vehicle within 30 days of the first inquiry that any inquiries within that 30 day period would be combined into ONE inquiry. Hi everyone, I live in the state of Nevada. And as of a month ago I still needed help with my credit score. Thanks for sharing. The other problem is many credit cards will automatically be closed even if you don’t close it if you don’t use it. It has happened to me so what suggestions do you give to your buyers in that case since pouts drop when something is closed.
If you think the credit card company is going to close the credit card automatically when it is paid off then you may want to leave a small balance. However, must revolving accounts leave accounts open. Loans - like car loans and student loan will close once paid off. There is really nothing you can do there but it will rebound relatively quickly.

My parents got me my first credit card so i could stay building my credit. I reluctantly went with them and applied for it since i didn't care about credit at the time. Now I'm thankful they made me go, my age credit history would be way shorter than it is
If you are looking for fast credit score increase I would advise you purchase some good primary and AU tradelines which is guaranteed to get you 120-140 points ... No, you shouldn't need to. Work to get your credit card debt down to 50% then 30%, then 10% or less of the total available balance, that should help increase your score. And of course continue to pay bills on-time. Also, conventional loans will begin to look at rental history and not just credit score, so if you rent you can still qualify without taking on additional debt.
High utilization, over 20 or 30 percent is too high, period I know been thru it currently my utilization, meaning the use of my credit cards now is at 10 percent so that means I’m only using my credit when I absolutely have to, things or problems will come up, but if not try not to splurge or unnecessarily spend if u don’t have to
I love your video and I learned a lot. But I did something you said not to do that’s is giving a collection agency my bank information to take out payments until paid off 🤦🏾♀️ . It would depend on interest rate and other payment terms and your budget. Compare the options side by side and see which is better for you. Also if you turn the line off credit into a loan how will the company report that to the credit agencies.
You can but if you are in the middle of using your credit to purchase a home you may want to wait, because it will impact your credit if you have had the card for a long time. However, your credit will rebound. Call the credit card company to see if they will waive the annual fee.

If you are only spending 10, pay it off. That would likely be less than the minimum. Ask the credit union what strategy would improve or raise your score the fastest.

If you have zero credit here is how you can start. Get a ~~ Capitol one secure card. After 6 months of paying on time your credit will take off. However don't spend on that card more than ten dollars a month on the card. I helped my brother do this and he now has six different cards and a score of 750. He started with 580 ..... Don't do it unless you feel your ready to be responsible.

So so SO!! True, a $384 $478 $556 & a $600 Dollar+ Car Payment pluse Gas and insurance will without QUESTION! Destroy! you financially and continuously pull your credit score lower and lower to the point where you can't even eat....Now add your Rent, Electric Cell phone Food and other necessary monthly expenses... Been There, Done That. it's.... HELL.

You shouldn't have to wait, it really depends on the impact to your credit score of the default. You will need to get your credit score up enough to qualify for a mortgage. Some lenders will approve you with a score as low at 580 but usually with higher interest and fees. Thanks for watching.

It does because they allow you to report rent payments and utility payments - bills not typically reported, but it only applies to Experian, your other scores will not change.
@@bearbear4030 . A lender pulls on three credit scores, and uses the median aka middle score to qualify you .The credit boast only applies to experian and not to transunion or equifax so if experian is your highest score, it won't be used anyways.
Next time, get the letter first saying they will remove and do not give them access to any electronic accounts - pay by check or money order. Dispute the item in writing, not online and use the credit/debit card transaction as proof of payment.
It should but the main thing to remember is that the older it is the less impact it has - Think about this - after a foreclosure within about 2-3 years credit is typically back where it was prior if you have been paying everything else on-time.
Ideally you should make the payment arrangements before they report it to the credit repair agencies. Now that they are in collections, it may not benefit you much. How old are they?

I am a Personal Financial Advisor and I too work with people who are trying to buy a home but don't have the credit score to qualify. I also consider myself a financial educator and consumer advocate. I totally agree with you when it come to teaching at an early age. I’m so happy I found your channel. I’m currently in college about to go graduate school. I’m in the mid 700s now but I’m trying to lift to the 800s. Sadly I’m new to having credit. I also plan to own a house within the next 8-10 years so I plan to eliminate my student loan as soon as possible. Your videos are very helpful and are preparing me for more financial security and stability.
I got a secured card during summer of 2020 and had to provide a $200 deposit (so the credit line was $200). Fast forward to December of 2021 and my card is now unsecured, my credit line is now $1800, , AND I’m getting my $200 deposit back😊. It definitely helps build credit with responsible use!
The only "financial" words spoken in my home was, "the bank is your friend." Whatever that meant. Now I'm 45 and just getting my credit together thanks to people on UA-cam.

I'm meeting with a lender next week. 95% of my debt is paid off, I just wish I knew what my true score is. I have one over 800 and the other two are in the upper 700's. I should be ok but I just wish it was more definitive. I don't understand the difference between the three bureaus.
Get your three credit reports they may be reporting slightly different things. The lender will use the score that falls in the middle, they will eliminate the highest and lowest.
I would actually recommend you use the help of a professional so you do not ruin your credit the more. I used the assistance of a credit repair specialist to fix my credit profile, he also cleared all my credit card debts too and that improved my score by more than 97 points. Thanks for sharing. The other problem is many credit cards will automatically be closed even if you don’t close it if you don’t use it. It has happened to me so what suggestions do you give to your buyers in that case since pouts drop when something is closed.
If you think the credit card company is going to close the credit card automatically when it is paid off then you may want to leave a small balance. However, must revolving accounts leave accounts open. Loans - like car loans and student loan will close once paid off. There is really nothing you can do there but it will rebound relatively quickly.

If you are looking for fast credit score increase I would advise you purchase some good primary and AU tradelines which is guaranteed to get you 120-140 points ... I love your videos I have a decent credit score but only credit cards my loans have been paid in full does that mean I can't purchase a home because I only have 3 credit cards and no active loans
Should I take out a new loan?
No, you shouldn't need to. Work to get your credit card debt down to 50% then 30%, then 10% or less of the total available balance, that should help increase your score. And of course continue to pay bills on-time. Also, conventional loans will begin to look at rental history and not just credit score, so if you rent you can still qualify without taking on additional debt.

High utilization, over 20 or 30 percent is too high, period I know been thru it currently my utilization, meaning the use of my credit cards now is at 10 percent so that means I’m only using my credit when I absolutely have to, things or problems will come up, but if not try not to splurge or unnecessarily spend if u don’t have to

I love your video and I learned a lot. But I did something you said not to do that’s is giving a collection agency my bank information to take out payments until paid off 🤦🏾♀️ . I am also making extra payments to finish faster. And to be honest with you I just wanted to make sure I pay the debt off to finish cleaning up my credit. My credit is not bad but not good for now. Three of the debt I settle because I couldn’t afford the full amount. Thank god all have been deleted accept for the one I am paying.
How about when you are going through a divorce and your spouse won't pay his part of the debt.
Unfortunately, divorce is one of the things that can ruin your credit if one spouse stops paying on obligations. It would depend on interest rate and other payment terms and your budget. Compare the options side by side and see which is better for you. Also if you turn the line off credit into a loan how will the company report that to the credit agencies.

You can but if you are in the middle of using your credit to purchase a home you may want to wait, because it will impact your credit if you have had the card for a long time. However, your credit will rebound. Call the credit card company to see if they will waive the annual fee.

a 500 limit from my saving account. Should I spend only 10 dollars a month for six months or longer and pay the minimum balance each month.
If you are only spending 10, pay it off. That would likely be less than the minimum. Ask the credit union what strategy would improve or raise your score the fastest.

Do late payments for student loans fall off after the 7 years or is that excluded from the 7 year drop off?
Yes, they should come off after 7 years. Student loans that you have defaulted on or are delinquent on are going to stay on your credit report for seven years from the original delinquency date of the debt. Student loans are a type of installment loan, like an auto loan or a mortgage.However they can still garnish your pay or take your tax refund.

If you have zero credit here is how you can start. Get a ~~ Capitol one secure card. After 6 months of paying on time your credit will take off. However don't spend on that card more than ten dollars a month on the card. I helped my brother do this and he now has six different cards and a score of 750. He started with 580 ..... Don't do it unless you feel your ready to be responsible.

You shouldn't have to wait, it really depends on the impact to your credit score of the default. You will need to get your credit score up enough to qualify for a mortgage. Some lenders will approve you with a score as low at 580 but usually with higher interest and fees. Thanks for watching.

Pay them off but don't close them yet, it will likely lower your credit score. Once you are settled and closed on your home, you can close them and you will have time for you credit to rebound. Thanks for watching!

Does the Experian Boost actually work?
It does because they allow you to report rent payments and utility payments - bills not typically reported, but it only applies to Experian, your other scores will not change.

Next time, get the letter first saying they will remove and do not give them access to any electronic accounts - pay by check or money order. Dispute the item in writing, not online and use the credit/debit card transaction as proof of payment.

So when you make a payment to close out a collection account, it falls off 7 years from that last payment?
It should but the main thing to remember is that the older it is the less impact it has - Think about this - after a foreclosure within about 2-3 years credit is typically back where it was prior if you have been paying everything else on-time.

Awesome video. I loved the analogy with transcripts and GPA compared to credit reports and credit score. I am a Personal Financial Advisor and I too work with people who are trying to buy a home but don't have the credit score to qualify. I also consider myself a financial educator and consumer advocate. I totally agree with you when it come to teaching at an early age. I got a secured card during summer of 2020 and had to provide a $200 deposit (so the credit line was $200). Fast forward to December of 2021 and my card is now unsecured, my credit line is now $1800, , AND I’m getting my $200 deposit back😊. It definitely helps build credit with responsible use!

I'm meeting with a lender next week. 95% of my debt is paid off, I just wish I knew what my true score is. I have one over 800 and the other two are in the upper 700's. I should be ok but I just wish it was more definitive. I don't understand the difference between the three bureaus.
Get your three credit reports they may be reporting slightly different things. The lender will use the score that falls in the middle, they will eliminate the highest and lowest.
Does it help my credit?
I would actually recommend you use the help of a professional so you do not ruin your credit the more. I used the assistance of a credit repair specialist to fix my credit profile, he also cleared all my credit card debts too and that improved my score by more than 97 points.
