Late to this clip but good catch, when I saw the movie I picked up on her carefree behavior and laughter and thought how naive. I think it's meant to depict the stark differences between her and her brother. She appears to feel secure at home with her family, in her father's home with top of the line security features. Typical daddy's girl.
On the other hand the son is not as trusting or naive. His hyper vigilance could be related to his wife's pregnancy, but he doesn't share his sister's false sense of security or naive nature.

The purge night is for only one certain night for a certain state. NFFA Government think they got things under control. But what would happen if these people don’t want to stop killing and it goes completely out of control.
A big part of the plots of these movies is that generally speaking people don't want to Purge and the NFFA have to put troops into the cities to "beef up the numbers."

What boggles my mind about this movie is you only get to see the mysterious (badass) guy shown on the cover ( 2:45 ) for about 5 seconds throughout the entire film.
Yeah and It shows him on a Horse on the poster yet that horse never appears and Most Of the purgers were cowboys so That was a missed opportunity
