This is one of the best gaming tutorials ever. You make the explanation so clear and nice that I got the confidence to go to Gwent and start my own deck experimentation. And even more good from you is that you tell how to do the best with our owns ideas and cards we have for the deck, you never say "built this to win", you just explain how to play with building the deck and that's very awesome. Greetings from Venezuela!
After rank 15 I kept losing but after watching your guides I got the hang of it. I think best thing about your videos is getting to know what other factions can do. I had no idea what I was doing when playing against Monster deck lol
I don't play Gwent anymore, but I love listening to you play and talk through your reasoning! Hope to see you upload some more gameplay/deck guides/etc videos in the future :)!
I'm a return player and personally i recommend crafting only neutral golds that fit in every deck like roach and carlo. faction specific golds - especially legendaries - can softlock you into a faction you might not enjoy as much as you initially thought and all faction starter decks benefit from it (important for faction dailies). i also crafted dulla and runewright and while i think they're good, i only did it because i had royal decree from my beta days leftover. they are pretty good if you can get them online and roll high on the random leggo, but you can also get hym (1 power and 'swap power with a damaged units power') without good targets, or the 2 power tutors without a hit
I´ve returned to Gwent after a long absence and your starter deck guides was very helpful to having a good start. Gwent has changed so much, and with so many new expansions it is difficult to know where to start. Your deckbuilding guide is also very userful thanks.
Jaggerous I just wanted to say I've been binging your beginner content for this game & you are by far & away the best at this on UA-cam, You're knowledgeable, concise & explain the mechanics + your reasoning so very well. Keep up to this standard & I don't see a reason why your channel won't go to the moon :)
Thank you for the awesome starter guide, it has helped me get started in this amazing game of Gwent. And since you are still making new content, that means you are safe and sound. Take care world, cheers.
Just started on Gwent. Your starter guides have been great, I've learnt a lot about other decks without using them, like not rushing monster decks. It's made learning nilfgaard a much easier process. Also improving my nilfgaard starter deck was much easier. So thanks for really great deep explanations!
Aight I'm getting back to Gwent and I forgot everything, so I'm relearning the game, mechanics, the new faction, syndicate, and I'm glad I could find your video to get an idea of how to get into deckbuilding (which I suck at), thank you !
Finally got the game after having played it and completed all the quests in wither 3. I've played online 13 times and have won all but have no idea how and why. It seems to ve instinctive. Came here for more clarity.
Cool video!! I felt quite lost as soon as I started getting into deck building. I've never played any deck builder game like this. But I love The Witcher and I love how Thronebreaker combines the different styles. I've also been able to do just fine without having to spend money which is a plus. I just wanted eeto up my deck building skills. So Thank you!!! :)
Exactly the video i was waiting for!! Was hoping to see an updated guide after gettimg back into gwent, since its android release and subsequent leader patch 👍
As loads of others have said, thanks for the really helpful starter vids here! For the 25 card limit, in other card games I've found that it's often not such an issue going over the advised amount if the extra cards are offering you some redraw or cycle options. Is that the case in Gwent too? (Nilfgaard seems to have some of those kind of cards)
Gwent is different because cards have provision cost. If you add more cards you’re diluting the average provision cost of your draws and thus making your deck worse. I wouldn’t advise it. I hope that makes sense.
@@Jaggerous Ah ok, yes that does make sense! I'm still new so I don't have many cards yet, but I can see that it'd be best to use up the provisions on better cards when I have them. Thanks :)
thank you so much for making this video. it is a very helpfull guide for noob like me. one question, do you have a video that talk about reward book? kind of confuse what to spend on. again, thank you so much
I started using the scoia'tael deck and doing your improved version of it. All I can say is that I have a hard time playing with it. And here I thought that I could do better than monster deck. Idk why but monster is easier for me. But I'm not quiting :).
Very helpful - I quit after they stripped the flavor and removed all the interesting card interactions a few years ago, and then came back because I saw they had reverted those changes/the game had evolved, and found... my entire collection destroyed and milled for full value, and all my decks deleted... and this 'provision' system. So... yes, very helpful.
When they made the big change everyone sets got milled. It's why I have so much scraps on my account. But at least you can make a range of decks with your old resources :)
Relatively a new player. The only thing I'm having a problem is with scrapes. I wanna build another faction's deck but I've ran out of all the gold, reward points and scrapes because of the deck i created a week ago(it's not working). And since all the normal contracts have been completed, reward points are scarced and it's really difficult grinding:/
Don't tempt newcomers with Igni and Ciri. :P I remember when I came first time into Gwent and was so disappointed to learn that they were like months away. Great guide by the way!
I don't agree with you when you say that 2 legendary cards are months away. I don't know about this current system, but in the "old" one that was just last season - you would get 1260 resources *in a week from minor rewards alone* if each day you did the 6+12+24 round wins crowns. Granted, some of the resources are meteorites, but the point still stands. You don't need months to craft 2 legendary cards. That's the minor rewards I'm talking about. They are far less influential than reward points. This new system is different though. It has no minor rewards and it gives less reward points to those who play a lot. But to the casual newcomer who plays just a little bit - it's presumably better than the old system. I think your first impression was wrong. Having said that though. I wouldn't particularly want to be a new player in this new journey system myself.
@@edmis90 Whoa! That is a big explanation for a simple matter. My point was simply that cards like Igni and Ciri quickly become a lower priority when you start playing the game for real. You know, you have to choose between them and ones that you might need for your deck. That is all.
Gwent is actually pretty rewarding compared to other CCGs. It can be a bit confusing at first though. Start by getting to grips with the starter decks and then looking at how you can use your resources to improve them. I have guides for each deck on this channel.
Only been playing mobile Gwent for a couple of days but I've enjoyed building some of my own decks around leader cards. I played TW3 and Gwent there so i'M familiar with the faction system and some aspects of this version but a lot is new to me. I've already built semi decent decks revolving around Monster cards but more specifically the Deathwish mechanic, I've built one based around vampires, keeping my opponent bleeding and having my cards benefit from that through either vitality gain or just being boosted. Also experimenting with beasts at the moment, luckily and I've unlocked some absolutely cracking cards like Spontaneous evolution through kegs. With my beast deck I've also mixed in some insectoids that either produce clones or consume/destroy upon deployment. This way depending on the situation I can either boost a beast card by 8 or spawn more clones for my insects to consume when spawning so I don't have to sacrifice my other cards. it's been working well mostly but still got around 40-ish provisions left, trying to figure out how I can stay as close to 25 cards and boost my provisions. I'm slowly getting better cards, like my beast deck does have a lot of golds considering I'm only level 5, rank 29. I know this has been incredibly long already but there was a point to this, seeing as I sort of know what I'm doing when it comes to making specific decks with some synergy, what tips could you give on making a deck that fits anywhere? Like a deck that can fight most other types of decks. So for example my vampire deck sucks against anyone who has purifying cards. In that instance would it be better to add a lock card? What I think I'm trying to say is, what should the balance of card types be, how many units, spells, relics should I have?
I've been getting into Gwent during quarantine. It's so good OMG IT IS SO GOOD! Your videos are really helpful, thx!
just started playing, omg this game deserves more credit. its sooooo good

Hi, thanks for the video, I am wondering if I can link my gog account to steam? I played regularly before homecoming.
When you launch the steam version it should link to your gog version :)
good guide
The meta of this season seems to rely too much on leader abilitys. Can you make a good NG lockdown deck that can be anti-meta?
I'm still confused... I'm playing and win a few but still...like what is deploy, and all the other actions on the cards
How do you have that many scraps and other resources?!
How can I unlock "the beast" card????? 🙏🙏🙏
