This is how good they are. Their concerts are parties. Adam Rupp is always amazing. And they all have fun. And, oh, yeah, Tim's bass vibrates the floor - and occasionally breaks sound systems.
Rob is a magical tenor in that can literally "do it all"... He has Opera chops too. He and Austin Brown did a duet of "Nessum Dorma" made famous by Luciano Pavoratti. It's brilliant.
They have an amazing, natural-sounding medley of about 15 songs called Country Fried Pop Medley. It's a lot of fun even though it's a very simple video.
I've seen them live three times - they are just so dang fun. You can tell either they genuinely enjoy playing for people or dang they fake it well (I'm voting for they enjoy it) - they energy is just mad and an absolute giggle and they sound stunning.
That was so much fun to watch. These guys are so down to earth & love to interact with the audience. Remember this is being recorded & filmed with just someone's phone. I am sure they would sound a lot clearer if you were there personally. But it still gives you an idea of the atmosphere & what it is like.
I'm going to suggest you check out some songs from several years ago where there is no beatboxing and Adam sings: "Helplessly Hoping" It's clean stark and has beautiful harmonies. Not quite as bare-bones but still full of beautiful harmonies is "Auld Lang Syne" and for full powerful sound "How great thou art"
I have been to 8 of their concerts and they are so much fun. I think they sound even more amazing live than they do in videos. Tim's bass notes vibrates your chair and your body. I go see them every time they are close and they always put on a great show.
If Tim amazes you in this, check out his solo cover mash up of “Will You Still Love Me/Stay”! He multi-layers ALL parts. One man, one voice, singing all parts. Harmonies and background sounds.
I saw Home Free live 4 times last year, they refer to their concerts as parties, & I 100% agree it's an amazing party!!! Im hoping to see them at least that many times yet this year. Love them so much & I've subbed to see more HF on your channel. 🍟❤️
I could go to one of their concerts every month. They are as good on stage as their videos. They have a great sense of humor. You should see Tim's little comedy monologues. Tim always says, this isn't a concert,it's a party. If the music moves you get up and move your butt. The have audience participation in their shows. Best concerts I've ever been at. Also, remember, that was recorded on a cellphone. Amazing!
Great Reaction! Yes Tim does have a crazy range and now he can use it more since Chance Baritone/ Bass joined the group he holds bass while Tim sings.Adam Rupp is the best Beatboxer there is imo you should check out some of his live “Drum “/Beatbox solos he does one in every concert/party start with an older one then newer. Newer ones he uses a looper to create his own beat which his incredible Please Don’t Do Mayday get to know the guys and their ranges better first it’s that special
Oh WOW Wow! Your new setup is terrific (love that you're larger in the frame), and did you pick the greatest video to display with it for the first time! I love their live videos. So this whole experience was exciting. I happen to immensely love their cover of Try Everything. You should see that video, too: it's the first one where Chance sings with the group (2016). So kudos to you and whoever helped you make your channel look so great.
Technically, they have two basses. Tim Foust is a basso profundo with five octaves. Adam Chance is a baritone/bass with four octaves. Adam Chance usually sings baritone but can and does cover bass when Tim is singing lead. This gives them a lot of flexibility as a group. All five can sing tenor when needed. Adam Rupp is a world-class beatboxer, but when he sings and all five harmonize together it sounds AMAZING.
Chance did the same thing last Wedneswday night in Ft Meyers....he took a phone from a fan and recorded from the stage....pretty amazing aye??? These guys re the best.
I love your new set up with the reactions! I like that you are up front, but we can still the video you’re reacting to well. I’ve seen Home Free live several times, and am always amazed at how awesome they sound, and the energy they bring.
You need to check out Adam Rupp (the beat boxer) playing a "drum solo" some time. You'll get WAY more than you bargained for. And yes, Home Free keeps their runs and riffs SO tight! Tim Foust's bass is amazing, as well. Very few bass singers can give the amount of vibrato on the deep notes that he can give. Try Brothers In Arms for an example.
There is a great concert video where Tim breaks the speaker system...it's called HF concert at Morrison IL 8/19/15 and Abby Zee has a two-minute video of just when it happens. Also, there are videos of Story Time with Tim like Watch Me Whip Nae Nae...absolutely hilarious. Enjoy
First things first, Conga rats on 1K! It's a very nice milestone to have reached. Second, cool new toys. It's always so much fun when you get new toys to enhance your own experience, as well as that of your audience. As far as any bugs in working out how they work...meh, it's not a big deal. You'll figure it out. And, in the meantime, we get to chuckle about the stuff that's going wrong. Mostly because it's not frustrating US. Lol. The thing with Chance and picking up the phone from an audience member? Yeah, that happens about a dozen times per concert. They love their audience, their Homefries. They have a portion of, at least some, performances they kind of give over to reactors and content creators, too. They ask for them to come up, front and center, and bring their cameras. They do shout-outs for creators they know are there, too. Like I said, they love their Homefries. The Zootopia song, Try Everything, holds kind of a special place for me. It's the first time we see Home Free the way they are now. It was Chance's first song recorded with them as a member. The video they shot for the song...you can SEE how overjoyed Chance is to be working with this bunch of cornballs who GET him, and happen to be able to sing their faces off, too. This, and interludes like it, are nothing more or less than I've come to expect from Home Free, awemazingness sauce balls... (awkward pause) you know what I meant.
Loved your smiles and joy with Adam Rupp's beatboxing. Wonderful reaction. They have so much more live stuff out there. One of my favorites is the "9 to 5 Beatbox Breakdown." It's spectacular, and I don't even like the original of "9 to 5" all that much (still LOVE Dolly, though, just not that particular song). But HF's version made me love it because that's what they do. For more Adam Rupp's beatboxing, check out his live "Drum Solo" from 2015. He's in a red flannel. There are more recent live videos, as well, which show how much better he has gotten (if that's possible). His snare and high-hats are even more accurate now, if that's possible. Lots of practice to hone his skill. Which reminds me, that's another great thing about Home Free. They are hard workers, well-practiced, always trying new things, all while being authentic at the same time. The stars really aligned with this group.
Now that I know Rob Lundquist can bel canto the shizzle out of Nessun Dorma with a gorgeous free-spinning chiaroscuro.... anything he does with Home Free is *real* easy for him! LOL They are all talented tho, & the fact that they can get close live to the truly excellent arrangements they lay down in controlled studio settings is very impressive to me. :)
I was at this show in the front row. Hearing the 5 octave ranges my favorites Tim (Bass) and Adam (tenor, beatbox) had my brain 🤯. I had the time of my life! Home free is my favorite! Thank you!
Another live Home Free performance you might want to check out is Home Free on Studio 10 in Australia. They perform "Road Sweet Road" an original HF from their newest album. Chance (baritone) covers bass while Tim goes to higher range. It's a great interview of Home Free also. Loving your reactions, the energy you put out is highly contagious. Thanks for the joy!
Tim goes from the Mariana trench to the moon! His bass can cause my hearing aides to shut down, ceiling tiles to fall, the floors to shake and as Tim said those who may need a defibrillator please stand in front of the speakers please.😂😂
I appreciate your observations & analysis of Home Free. They are so talented & hilarious. In their concerts they have "Story Time with Tim" and it could be it's own HBO comedy special. Thx for the video!
Tim is the bass with 5+ octave range...super low to high tenor. Chance is the bariton that covers bass when Tim is singing lead parts....Adam Rupp can hit deep throat rolls as part of his percussion...and actually Adam has the widest range I think. Rob (beard) is a lyrical tenor smooth as silk....and Austin is the high tenor.
Duane Allen from The Oak Ridge Boys reached out to Tim Foust to collaborate. Geoff had an arrangement of “Elvira” which Tim borrowed & later tailored for Home Free & the ORB.
I’ve seen them live twice and they’re incredible. I sat up in the mezzanine and thought oh no I won’t hear Tim as well. Well not to worry. His voice goes thru you. There are videos where he breaks speakers. What’s amazing is that Tim sings in the basement but also can sing up with the tenors. Chance (newest member) sounds great live. Rob (glasses)has an incredible voice and all the guys think he’s the best. Austin is wonderful. Try I Can’t Outrun You, Brothers in Arms, In the Blood to hear more bass. Also Tim does a lot of collaborations with Peter Hollens (also an a cappella singer). They do Misty Mountains from the Hobbit and Tim goes really low. Good reaction Mayze!😄
If you want to see their fun personalities come out on stage there are 2 videos I recommend. Both are filmed from the crowd during a concert. Home Free Falls starts just before the show then jumps to later antics. Colder Memory Lapse it turns out is not a too uncommon event from what I hear. But the boys just roll with it, and the audience loves it.
Home Free is the best at their craft. They're also genuine down to earth guy's. I'm definitely not a fan of country music, but if it involves these five incredible individuals, I'm all in!
G’day from Australia mate - and let me congratulate you on your channel. Also, you seem to have an “old soul” for someone so young. New subscriber here. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole where there is so much to see, hear & learn from these guys & their channel. I have 2 suggestions for you (that others may have already): 1. The Butts Medley. For a bit of country-fied booty based music & a bit of a laugh. 2. All their songs from “The Sing Off” (preferably with judges critique, but no biggie without) which they won. For quality live sound compared to the iPhone recordings, which I do appreciate.
I just saw them last Friday night and this was truly fun!! They are so tight in their harmonies. The beginning song is Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. It's not demonic.
I like this so much better. Big view of the video and of you. I chuckled when you paused it again and basically exclaimed 'screw this'. Yes! Pause it and share it!
They put on a really Fabulous live show !!! You ought to see their live show if they come close to you, I have been lucky and have seen them eight times. The farthest we have traveled is 5 hours, not too bad a drive to get to see the guys.
Tim has a 5+ Octave Range…..he’s crazy AWESOME 🔥❤️‼️😵💫 I’ve been to 2 of their concerts…&, yes…he vibrates your butt…he made my hair tingle 😵💫😳🔥‼️ They are soooo much Fun🔥‼️❤️ Tim is the spokesman…that bass voice is WOWZA…&, he’s an entertainer…🙃❤️🔥‼️

Home Fries are extremely loyal because Home Free is

I was waiting for someone to address that!

There's a bunch of live videos ❤ check out " Tim's vibrations" someone correct me if that's not right

You have to see them concert because the cell phone recording is never the best. In person is beyond amazing!!

If you want to hear Tim’s range, listen to a LIVE version of “ Your Man “
Can't wait for you to watch one of Tim's storytimes!

Tim does a solo of “will you still love me/Stay “ mash-up. He over-lays ALL the the vocals, and beat-box sounds. The range is alien!
I saw them live in December 2022. It was an amazing concert. Tim’s low notes actually made my insides vibrate. You need to see them live!
If you ever have an opportunity to see them live, definitely take it. They are an amazing group of guys. Very humble and down to earth.

They sound better in person than on their videos!!! They tell you that it isn't a concert it is a party!
Rob's my fave, too :)
Hope you get a chance to see them live - it's such a fun time and you can't stop smiling!!! xx
G’day from Australia mate - and let me congratulate you on your channel. Also, you seem to have an “old soul” for someone so young. New subscriber here.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole where there is so much to see, hear & learn from these guys & their channel.
I have 2 suggestions for you (that others may have already):
1. The Butts Medley. For a bit of country-fied booty based music & a bit of a laugh.
2. All their songs from “The Sing Off” (preferably with judges critique, but no biggie without) which they won. For quality live sound compared to the iPhone recordings, which I do appreciate.
Yes, please react to Voctave! They are amazing. The Great Movie Medley & Prince of Egypt Medley are two of my favourites.
I just saw them last Friday night and this was truly fun!! They are so tight in their harmonies. The beginning song is Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. It's not demonic.
According to Jeff, Tim has helped him to extend his lower range. So yeah, they know each other. 😎
I like this so much better. Big view of the video and of you. I chuckled when you paused it again and basically exclaimed 'screw this'. Yes! Pause it and share it!
Chance does bass sometimes as well. Tim is so very awesome! They always have fun. Love your reaction!
They put on a really Fabulous live show !!! You ought to see their live show if they come close to you, I have been lucky and have seen them eight times. The farthest we have traveled is 5 hours, not too bad a drive to get to see the guys.
You should check up a live recording of Man of Constant Sorrow with Folsom Prison Blues where they show how they setup the looper
Thanks for posting this video.
Love your new setup, I felt like I was at the concert with you. Great Review.
"MISTY MOUNTAINS"Peter Hollens, ft Tim Foust, you will hear how low Tim can go.
😂 Love your reaction when Adam (beatboxer) did his thang!
All the guys pointed to Rob when asked who was the best singer in the group
I'm going to a concert in 2 days, so excited
They did a live performance at the Ryman that was live streamed so super good audio. Texas hill goes first at 14:30 and then Home Free at 1:05 ua-cam.com/video/mOl1y3tePoc/v-deo.html
Rob was opera trained. Sir runs a lot.
I love your reactions and enthusiasm and desire to grow as a reactor and musician! Like you, I had extensive classical training. Now I'm concerned that you are still comparing these friendly a cappella groups who do not compete with one another. Doesn't ranking come down to opinion, either yours or ours? Is there anything that can top "top tier"?
Here's my opinionated ranking of the top four, according to my current experience with their UA-cam presence:
HF = Top tier; VP = Top tier; PTX = Top tier; BG = Top tier
One reactor I watched gave HF a "God Tier" description. The other groups have gotten equally stunning reactions. Please keep exploring these, and other, artists in this magic world of music -- and share it with us!
[Post Script: I confess that HF is my personal favorite, even against decades of disliking country music.]
Thank you so much!!!! Those are some good point so yah!!!
Check out Home Free's covers of
Honey I'm Good,
Ring of Fire,
Hillbilly Bone,
Country Fied Pop,
The Butts Medley Remix,
May Day,
Band of Brothers,
& for Christmas music check out their version of
Do You Hear What I Hear,
Mary Did You Know, &
O Holy Night.
They have also done collaborations like Elvira with The Oakridge Boys,
God Bless America with Lee Greenwood & the military choir,
American Pie with Don McClean, & Childen Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers.
And last but not least
Nessum Dorma with Rob & Austin.
(Aka 2 Country singers TRY to sing Opera)
Great Reaction(s)!
I love that you don't hold back your expressions or vocal reactions in the moment. I'm someone who has always been very attuned to people's reactions to things. And always hated it when a person is basically "expressionless" & "reactionless". I realize not everyone can give their reactions so easily, but I'm not really talking about neuro divergent people, or people trapped by some disability. I'm more talking about people who are just extremely reserved, & just withhold or "hold back". The kind that constantly hold themselves back, so you never feel like you're getting their true energy or their true self. 🤷♀️
Then I discovered Reaction videos on UA-cam a couple of years ago, & couldn't believe my good fortune!
.
Review Austin and Rob 2 country guys trying to sing opera. I think u will enjoy this.
They never ever auto tune. It was filmed by an audience member
You should react to Austin and Rob sing opera song, Nessum Dorma.
Watch the live version of 9 to 5 + everyone beatboxes! You will die! It's amazing!!! I don't have the link but @dagmar night!! 😊
Poor cell phones can't get it all because they are awesome in person
Watch Hillbillies vs Zombies. It’s a Home Free/Voice Play video.
they are all clear
Tim has 5 octives
Lol I see me in that video!
This was a party!
Their videos are good but their live performances are best.
You do not talk alot! If someone does not want an honest reaction they can watch the original. I appreciate your comments. I learn from them...thanks....
