What else do you want to see running on the new LattePanda 3 Delta? What GPU should I pair it up with
Forza horizon 5? And maybe 4 to be more realistic, do that with no external gpu, then with an Rx 6400
@@aboudi0507 that little rdna2 gpu is ballin. Considering the minuscule power draw.
May 1650 or rx 6500 xt, but seeing this small device run rtx may interesting too.
as always, i would like to see run on it GTA 5 if possible, because i use that as a standard benchmark for knowing how well is gonna perform any pc, laptop, or other device.
rx6400 low profile, or maybe gtx1050ti
The RX6400 would be a great pairing!
I was really thinking about it
@@ETAPRIME especially the single slot rx6400
I also think an older RX580 would be a good one if you have one
@@ETAPRIME The PCIe 3.0 slot will hinder performance on the 6400. It would be cool to see you compare the 6400 to the 1650 on this and talk about the price/performance/practicality of both options.
There would certainly be some bottlenecking when it comes to the CPU when it comes to games that rely on it, but for GPU reliant games it could definitely work.
I'm starting to think Raspberry Pi has became "the banana" of scaling sizes of things :)
Banana for scale
Love the new ETA PRIME intro reflects how I (at least) feel about retro gaming
man I missed this kind of tutorials lol. Great work here, thanks!!!
I have already started working with mine and my RX6400. Working on my enclosure for the whole system now. It really adds a lot to it to add the dedicated GPU, even though it's low powered. If you would like, once I'm done, I can send you the stl file and pictures of my setup.
Love your new video intro! I know I'm a bit late on that, but it looks fantastic.
The biggest lure of the Latte Panda has been it's small form factor, but now there are more powerful PCs with a comparable size.
True, most mini PCs are roughly the same size as a lot of SBCs
@@AnthroBean2906
If the SBC runs on an ARM processor (e.g. Raspberry Pi), it would at least use significantly less power. The Latte Panda runs an X86 processor, and costs more than many small form PCs. I don't get who this is supposed to appeal to.
@@jwill7998 I mean, it's great if you want to play x86 pc games natively.
Stuff from the golden age of PC gaming, like Deus Ex, Systemshock, stuff like that
@@axelkusanagi4139
You can do that on a PC, for cheaper.
@@jwill7998 play it on the go!
Cool review👍. Upbeat attitude and generally life-affirming tone are welcome. Looking fwd to seeing HOLO ISO on this. Also can it run Crysis?
edit: Also thank you for the Panda's power consumption that you measured and presented.
I have a Beelink mini-computer on the way with this processor. Neat to see you put it through it's paces.
Man, these little SBC's get more and more impressive all the time and honestly, the price is not too bad on this. Would love to see if Dual-channel memory is possible down the line.
Honestly at this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if a newer alpha came out with all the bonuses like dual channel
I was just looking at these yesterday after watching some of your SBC videos and was thinking "I hope he reviews the LP3 soon"
Great video! Forget the board, I want the panda figurine :)
I'm glad you started testing with L4D2 in your reviews. I still play L4D1 as my favorite game, and it still has quite a good following, so I'm always curious which of the devices I see on the web are capable of playing it. It's great to see that it doesn't require an $800 gaming laptop to play my favorite game anymore, with all these lightweight chips coming out that have decent integrated graphics. Most of my work acquaintances never had systems capable of 3D shooters before, but now they can try out some light gaming with older titles like L4D1/2 with only a mini PC with an N5105 chip ... which is under $200.
That also could be done with any thin laptop from 10 years ago... L4D is less demanding than Minecraft!
oh boy this looks exciting!
Hi there! Could you let me know which keyboard are you using in the video? Is a mechanical keyboard? Looks awesome!
That's a really awesome and versatile SBC 👍. I'm looking forward to seeing the Linux performance on this little computer.
I bought one, planning on putting it into a old clock radio as a case for a vintage aesthetic
The n5105 is actually really impressive. Right away I thought too compare it to my old 4690k and considering it's a < 15W part, it performs incredibly well versus a 90W 4 core from just 7 years ago
During this time, a baby learns to walk, eat, talk, read, write, calculate. During this time, SSDs got 5 times as much capacity and 10 times faster at the same price. I don't find that particularly impressive, that's rather too slow.
That GTX 1650 you already showed in the video is a nice idea for pairing. It should run without an extra PSU.
p.s. I would wait for the "Plus" model which should have it's boost by adding dual channel. ;o)
In my opinion, that's a great development toolbox (software development), maybe the best today. Lattepanda alpha too.
4:47 ooh nice looking keyboard
A downside to these little machines is that if you want to travel... you also need to pack a keyboard and mouse (and if you aren't going to somewhere with a TV or spare monitor... a monitor). You can get just about as much out of a cheap laptop as one of these. That's discounting Arduino development, of course, and the potential of it being something that you could easily encrypt and store your secure/sensitive material on and hide/secure the device in a smaller place than a laptop, but that would be a relatively small use case for most people. I really like my Delta 2, but I just don't know what to do with it...
name one person who has "sensitive material" besides pedophiles, I'll wait.
Few days ago , I saw read this SBC information in their website. Is great to see the review here.
Also, I have two questions:
You have any plans to review the Quartz64 model A and model B from Pine64?
What is the most powerful prepaid Android phone in the market for gaming with Razer Kishi?
What kind of keyboard is that? Really nice video
Awesome. So if you use a usb c dock you can run it and have video out?
For the external GPU I like more to watch AMD ones, benchmarked vs Steam Deck in MS WOS and LiGNUx. Making the Steam Deck a very good point of reference for future benchmarks.
Where did you get the cassette tape SSD ? lol looks cool, Thanks
Awesome. What controller are you using? it´s a 8bitdo?
Given all the ports and network updates, this sounds like a very interesting SBC to be used as server head.... then again, perhaps wait and see if a new Alpha will come out.
I have an old Asus eee I've waiting for something like this, hope it will fit in the shell
Do you think this could work well with an external GPU and Future Pinball + VPX?
The single channel ram is a deal breaker. I would buy 1 if it had a 2x8gb ram configuration. With windows 11 I don't know how much of a performance gain would be had by making it dual channel with only 8gb of total ram.
Yea when he said single channel I'm like NEXT!
Literally same. I just added this to my basket on a site so that I can buy it with a few other stuff when my money comes in, now I'm looking at the sigma instead... I'll be running Linux, but still if I can squeeze some juice out I'd defs do so
I'm torn between giving it an RX 6400 and the RTX A2000 for a super compact gaming rig.
I have not tested the A2000 yet but i do love the 6400.
@@ETAPRIME The A2000 is a massively overpriced 3050 with 6-12GB VRAM. But, it only uses 70w. The 6400 is a solid card for the form factor and power draw. You could also buy about 4 of them for the price of an A2000...
@@justinpatterson5291 then get rtx 3050 instead
@@newolku he needs a card with low power consumption
@@ETAPRIME Oh you will LOVE the A2000 (it puts anything comparable in size and power consumption to a shame) but a 6400 will be somewhat crippled on that PCIe 3.0 M.2 connection.
I run a older Latte panda v1 as a server. For it's size it is a compute beast, especially when having an external SSD connected.
WiFi doesn't work on Fedora 36 Server, but Bluetooth does.
I'm not using the the build on arduino yet because I haven't written and containerized the code for reading serial and passing it to influxdb.
If you still have them, any chance you could check if the Uperfect/Nextdock lapdocks output enough power for a one-cable connection with this? I recall that they can charge a phone while pulling video/input, so I wonder if it's sufficient for the board.
This thing is 95% perfect. That Wifi 6 is gonna be amazing for wireless servers and it has a built-in Arduino which is crazy. Literally just ordered mine rn.
Interesting wristband, what does it symbolize?
I'm pretty sure an RX 6400 or even a 6500XT could work just fine, specially considering they only use 4 PCIe lanes rather than 8 or 16.
4 PCIe
But 4.0, wich is twice as fast as 3.0
I was super excited my Kickstarter came with the titan case. I had no idea what the panda was until I read the box and I ripped his head off. I was laughing so hard.
I got one from the kick starter but haven't gotten it fully booted when using a nexdock. I might need to turn down the power before hand on a different screen/power
I recently bought a Used Gaming PC that was pretty small, but when I looked at the wattage I got a little scared since it was 160 watts. I only knew about TV wattage, so I was thinking "holy crap that's way too much since giant 70 inch TVs only do around 110 watts. I started looking up Gaming PCs and then I saw that most average around 500 watts. That's 5 70 inch tvs running for probably 8 hours a day. The Xbox Series S only runs at 100 max watts and the PS5 and Series X run around 200 max. The nintendo switch is only 20 watts maxed. It's amazing to see not only size comparisons, but also energy comparisons.
Is this board capable of running (Installing) ChromeOS Flex? It seems a stunning small card for doing just that, maybe even with a portable 4K 16" panel that are available just for $250 basically creating your own Laptop?
I'm thinking of building an lcd display helmet. Is there a way you can't test these x86 chips with OBS running a webcam at 4k? And maybe a capture card
mister prime when do you think we can buy rpi?
I really really want to like this SBC. As an avid RPi user, I've longing for a small cost effective x86 SBC to use as a mini desktop for light productivity. But the key phrase here is "cost effective". At that price, you can get a decent used mini pc with more ports and upgradable RAM...and a case. It's hard to justify the cost for performance. :(
i agree 100%. Maybe it’s the arduino leonardo that drives the price up but at the same time it’s a feature you don’t find in a mini pc. I was also thinking about a dual purpose board that i can swap if needed. One rig at home with an old external gpu for a better gaming experience and a mobile one. Idk it looks so cool i want it.
works for me as a small, low-power 4K Win11 media-center.
I just put it behind my TV and never see it.
as always, i would like to see run on it GTA 5 if possible, because i use that as a standard benchmark for knowing how well is gonna perform any pc, laptop, or other device.
Hope to see it pair with the rtx3060 like you mention!
Dream homelab server!
Is there any SBC with N5105 chip (or higher) that runs dual channel RAM out of the box?
Would love to see you run CS:GO on this and see what kind of performance we can get out of this board. The CPU in here would definitely run Manjaro Linux with the XFCE desktop environment really well as it is optimized for low spec hardware. Also would love to see Google Chrome OS Flex running on here as well. Also this would make a great work from home machine as it sits with Windows 11 on it.
What about bios option? If usb boot is enable, bios remember this option even when usb drive is unplugged and plugged again? Aerofara 2 pro (same chipset) you have reviewed some time ago doesn't remember boot sequence, and if usb disk is unplugged, you have to enable again in bios once plugged.
yo think it would be good as a thin client? I want to use it as my remote desktop client.
Hi, I would like to see like a comparison video new delta vs previous alpha.
let's try a low-profile one to see how it handles! bit of a compact project
ETA Prime, Evolve III Maestro 11.6" Laptop Computer is only $60.00 now at Micro Center. Is this thing even worth getting? I'm curious what kind of gaming it's capable of.
Nice, the laptop I'm currently using (XPS13) does half the single core score and 1/4 the multicore score. And it feels like it...
One of these with an AMD APU would be a game changer I would make a custom handheld with it
I want to recreate multiple Retro console, mainly a NES, SNES, and a Megadrive
But i cant seem to find single boards Raspberry pi, only really expensive kits, any other alternatives that could do the trick ?
Is it as good as the UDOO RYZEN Bolt V1000 Maker Board SBC
Can you do a comparison with the Lattepanda Alpha? Performance looks very close but Alpha uses a older chip after all. While still being more expensive than Delta 3, surprisingly
What kind of power does this require? Could you make a portable PC?
Could you please compare this SBC with khadas VIM4?
I'd really like to see if it's possible to run an mxm gpu with this via an mxm to pcie adapter or riser card...
Please make a video "Lattepanda Alpha vs Lattepanda 3 Delta" please please please!
I'm still waiting for an updated replacement to the LettePanda Alpha! I want this form factor with a top of the line laptop grade X86, such as the Intel i7-1195G7 or the i7-1260P, not a lowly Atom or Celeron CPU.
Not sure if you know about this but Lattepanda has released a new version called the Sigma with an i5-1340P and with 16GB RAM.
Is that wifi adapter using IPEX 1 or 4?
I want to build a Clone Hero arcade with that Lattepanda 3. I can benefit on the low TDP and specially Clone Hero can run on potato pcs. I hope I can save some to buy that SBC
Single cable is super interesting.
Can't wait to see steamos on this
4GB's more of RAM also dualcore, higher clock speed & two USB ports is fine instead of 3, be perfect to remove the SD port and just leave the M.2 port for adding memory.
I have the Latte Panda and feels kinda outdated now, it has problems with the sleep awake HDMI output and the Intel Core m3-8100y is starting to feel its age. How does the new Celeron fare against it? I wish they go for an AMD embedded processor in the future, specially once those get RDNA 2 graphics.
I was excited about this until I saw that it's basically my desktop. Sure, it's much smaller, but I'm running a Pentium G4600 with single channel 2400MHz RAM as a general purpose machine, even running off of a picoPSU and eeePC's power brick. Seems like a fun little device though.
Sounds like the perfect upgrade for you then :)
My thought is for the price you might as well pick up a used gaming PC. You have to really need the small form factor for some reason.
RX 6500 or RX 6600 would be awesome to see!!
you would add 1w of power use with dual channel ram and as the power profile is made for using pd over usb c most likely its limit is pd 18w. so if it had dual channel ram they would need to underclock the cpu in order to have wired keyboard and mouses or the pd standard would need to be upgraded by a cost over 1w aditional power use of dual channel. in short they choose single channel for a rather silly cost saving and power savings thats more to do with the pd standards over usb c so they can sell it for $279.99 not $289.99.
Saw it in the feed, thought it was a nova spirits video
Can I actually use this with my nexdock 360 with a single cable??
Love your new intro!! Finally no more ugly noises from that Genesis game. You picked the worst noises for some reason and lived your best youtube years with it.
I'd love to make this into a Compact SSD NAS 🥺
Do they have a duel channel variant?
Yo wait does FSR work with this on SteamOS 3?!?!?
this tiny pc so cute ^_^
Voodoo 3 card! You've been meaning to clean out that closet anyway.
Are there any cases for this board?
What's your keyboard?
Would love to see this pair with a mid-range RX 5xx series card from AMD. Like a 570 or 580.
Your video about installing chrome os on any laptop didn't worked for me. I installed as same as you said but my laptop turns on and shows only chrome os logo can you help me
Is there something in the market with AMD APU in this FF?
Can it handle 1440p 144Hz over USB C? I know 4k 144Hz is beyond the iGPU spec
One cool thing about these boards is that they should make decent & rather affordable HTPC systems, moreso than Raspberry Pi boards and kin. Decoding HEVC videos, let alone AV1, is simply not realistic on an RPi 4, even when you can get a player that supports Broadcom's proprietary APIs. This is a general issue on ARM-based SBCs, sadly, and one reason why x86 boards with a solid iGPU or dGPU are so attractive.
If one had a bit more cash (and room) to throw at it, going for a budget Mini-iTX or micro-ATX (if size was no issue) would make more sense here, though. Having RAM slots and more expansion options definitely helps if you need those beans.
when is latte panda alpha 2 coming up ?
Will it fit into Titan case?
Seems like the M6 is a better bang for the buck. With either device you can add both M.2 NVMe and SATA drives (or use a GPU in place of the NVMe). And both have the 2933MT/s RAM configured for single-channel unfortunately. But you can get the M6 with either the newer N6000 CPU+16GB RAM+256GB NVMe for the same price (plus it comes in a case). Or you could get the N5105 version with 8GB and no storage for $95 cheaper than the Latte Panda with the same performance.
This board could be useful for my DDR/Stepmania machine setup I'm rebuilding... Hmmm 🤔
curious to see batocera or recalbox (or something similar like LudOS) on it
Wow 🔥❤️
I need all the other videos 😩😩😩😩
I have seen people use the latte panda to build a laptop!
How does it compare to the alpha?
When you use sbc with limited ram can I suggest also using a 3rd party version of windows 11? There's a lite version made by people that hate unnecessary background tasks and network usage ( a sketchy part is that different programs steal resources to record data and send it to several unnecessary addresses. Even if you're not connected to the internet they still record the data up to a point in preparation for when you do connect to the internet). The lite version leaves you with way more RAM and a lot less unnecessary system resource usage
