Perhaps the additional use of a long term battery and a roll out solar panel for charging for truly portable use. You could even make this a great mobile sdr type deck. Even single use battery packs could be used for standby power. Usage for remote weather systems, radio telemetry or even low cost repeater stations. This is a very nice setup. Though for repair purposes I would have glued standoffs or supports so that the screen bezel could be removed
Great project. ♥ That must have been a lot of fun. I would add a battery and enlarge the display, but even so, this case looks great and has a lot of potential.
This is not only one of the cleanest i have seen, but probably obe of the most useful ones out there. Love the keyboard! I would have loved a powerbank as "go between" that also gives you a bit of a reserve for on the go (and fits the cyberdeck aesthetic of beeing less dependent, having to deal with unstable electricity, and so on). Maybe an add. an aux and antenna port and the thing would not miss anything 😅
Personally, I would have loved to have seen or had some reviews of the finalised set-up being utilised in different roles. By no means trying to bring down the project, I'd just love to see how functional it is with whatever it is you use it for if that makes sense. The work horse vs the show pony so to speak. It does look clean though
You'd need a fairly large power bank, but yes you could do that. The ports on the bottom of the board allow you to add a GSM or mobile data module for remote work.
I really like your setup. 1) I would max out the touch screen monitor 13-14inch if can. I know I old school tech. But I still like my DVD/Blu-ray burner and would add a 4-port USB (2.0- 3.2+, FireWire) on the right side. The price of the Delta is still too high 64gb eMMC (500+GB) and 8gb Ram ("Really for gaming/Graphic designer low-side"16-32+ GB) 2.0-2.9Ghz CPU Quad...(3.2-4.0 GHz) I do think Delta can meet the upper size. 2016 year model laptop meet this! I hate to say. You got, space for speakers too? Monitor wasted space. Would love to add a battery pack, also. Still a great project for DIY.
Smart design choices. My only gripe is use of hot glue which makes accessing the guts not possible. Beside that, how much does the latte panda consume in terms of power.? Is it feasible to run over battery?
Excellent Project! A laser cutter is next on my list of workshop tools. To make the cyberdeck really portable, you should consider battery/solar power.
Great CyberLatte build. The only thing I would possibly change is to somehow make access to the USB 3 ports easier, right now it looks like you need to dismantle the top of the cover to access them
Thank you. I've brought the high speed USB 3.2 gen 2 port to the front panel as well as the USB C port, so you've got two that are easily accessible. If more are regularly required then it would definitely be better to add another extension to re-route them to the front panel as well.
Does it have a built in mic somewhere? Would be cool for it to have a webcam + mic holes as well or maybe make it completely portable? either way cool ass build!
Great video I thought of getting one For video production stuff. I had a question on your laser machine I want to cut acrylic who make that one where can I get one and how much space is needed
a pretty neat one, but personally i would have added some space to carry a battery bank so it could be used away from the wall in a more convenient manner.
I was thinking about running the 12V input to a barrel jack and trying the UPS I used recently for my bluetooth speaker. It would be interesting to see how long it would run on the UPS.
Its an great project but you made a tiny mistake the delta 3 sucks in cool air on top and the warm air gets out on the side with the three usb ports but there is just one hole and since warm air goes up it goes through the hole for the cool air so its not quite perfect but can be fixed with a dremmel
Curious. I am sure there would be a number of people interested in this. People that wouldn't have the tools or skills to do this on their own, including myself. Having you considered tallying up the cost of material and time. Possibly building for the purpose of sale? Wouldn't be that hard to build on an as needed basis. Very little risk and overhead to yourself.
I've often had this sort of request, unfortunately I don't really have the time to build up these sorts of custom products to sell. Even with the design etc. prepared it still takes a goodfew hours to build. Thats why I rather document the build on my blog and usually provide the design files and purchase links for components for people to make their own. There are a lot of online 3D printing and laser cutting services available now as well.
@@MichaelKlements go for the 11th gen on 2nd hand market if you can find one or try for collab if you want to try with some other youtuber, I have been looking at so many amazing things people are doing with it as a platform, its so cool
Soooo you made a super flimsy netbook? The project was ok, but you should have mounted the cable extensions for external access, hidden the monitor cable, and included portable power. Additionally the screen angle is not great. Finally, where is the sound?? Personally this feels like a kids build by the numbers project.
I think you could have used a bit bigger of a screen. apart from that, cool! kinda reminds me of a early DS where there was only 1 screen, being the flip-out one.
I only see two downsides to this : 1. The use of Hot Glue really ruins the look for me, if you could somehow make them stick via some strong small sized magnets on the inside then it really would've been good. Plus it would be easier to take apart if needed. 2. Is the screen size, it seems like a 10" screen would easily fit in there.

@@minimalistinlife you could get an external battery to plug in, could also get some portable solar panels to charge the battery pack and you'll be very mobile
Very nice. I'd like to make something similar using the newer Sigma and a bigger Pelican Case. Neat execution on the idea. I've had a look at some other reviews of the LP3D and it seems like the real downside in terms of performance is using single channel RAM instead of dual channel, it uses a Celeron processor after all.
Yeah I probably wouldn't be buying this sort of board for it's performance - processor or RAM. It's significanlty better than the first generation, and it's perfect for day to day tasks and even for running basic AI or vision scripts, but it's definitely not not a "powerhouse".

Every time you say Cyberdeck it sounds like Cyberdick and I'm like what-
but can you adjust the size
Cyberdix😂
I think a bigger screen and a better hinge would really improve this. Looks like the case leans forward making it difficult to look at the screen.

The others are accessible through the removable magentic cover, the one brought out to the top panel is meant for quicker access for drives etc.
