    Great job helping out Big Mike. Blue Goose & Green Goblin & fire balls. Sounds like he’s got a good start on a ‘Best of the Hoopty Barn’ video !!! Thx for showing us some real world stuff we have to deal with when we trust some other shops. Appreciate seeing you help Big Mike. 👍

      Had that happen with hot transmission fluid in the middle of a Chicago winter. -20+. Fluid missed the pan all together and sprayed all over my head, soaking my hat.

    Your keeping it real, Joe. About 40 years ago I needed another remote starter , like you were needing here. I used a stepped PVC hose connector 1 inch to 3/4 I think, a momentary button and a 2 wire cord from a household appliance and alligator clips of your choice, once all together I filled the void in the PVC with silicone and the next day was good to go. It still works today. PS the PVC is to house the momentary button and the cord for a handle of sorts. STAY SAFE !

      Thanks brother. I had shown this one in my dyno videos a while back. It didn’t have holes in the front metering blocks to connect the front squirter! We sent it back to be warrantied and they replaced that one and sent it back. Front pump adjustment was Terribly off. I think I was able to fix that before he left the following day. I absolutely would recommend AED carbs.

    My first car was a 72Charger but it had a little less motor, probably a good thing, cause I didn't have much sense back when I was a teenager in the early 80s, the 318 two barrel got me in enough trouble but I sure had some good times in the ole car and I miss it now

    • @JustMoparJoe

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks Doug. Mike is good. His video is up now. This one being a solid flat tappet with this style of roller rockers, is likely to make some noise over a hydraulic.

    I have had the same thing happen to me after a big repair, one of the hoses (upper or lower) just decides to slip off and dump the coolant. I can’t explain it all the clamps were tight etc - I suspect an air pocket in the system is the reason. That engine sounds veey nice it will be fun totake that one for a drive

    Why so fast an engine speed? I usually broke my engines in at 1500 to 1800, which is PLENTY. I usually have it static timed, so very little ignition advance adjustment is needed, and it fires right off, first crank.

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  8 місяців тому

      Comp recommends 2,500 last I checked. I like to vary the speed between 2,000 and 2,600

    Christ Almighty, what is it with people getting fried by hot water lately!!!???? Jimmy Dale, then the new guy at the Old Mans Garage gets fried and goes to hospital, now this!! Guess this should be a lesson for the rest of us, the cooling system is as important as the rest of the engine, and we need to be very frickin' careful around it, and treat it with care, and understand just how Got-Damned dangerous it can be!!!
    P.S. Did you drill a small hole in the thermostat? That will help relieve pressure from air bubbles in the system!

    • @JustMoparJoe
