I appreciate you performing all three styles, finger, slap, pick efficiently. I hate viewing a review and the reviewer can't slap, finger, or pick correctly. 1,000 LIKES!!! I'm currently looking for these pups by the way because of you! lol.
@1:30 I'm such a sucker for the bridge pickup with the tone rolled off. Those low mids just tickle the ear drums. That's the kind of bass tone that in a recording would translate to literally any sound system. Do you know what the cap value is? Also, great groove!
Excellent demo thank you for this. That bridge something is telling me is adding to that sound. I just bought a used Squier Jazz bass and want to get those same pickups and color too. That cream/off white color goes great with that natural finished beige colored body and black pick guard. What model though of Dimarzio J's are those? They have like five different models.
These look like they have the adjustable poles. If that is the case, they are the Model J (DP123). The others of the same casing (Area J, Ultra J) are visually indistinguishable
I had those exact pickups in a 70's j bass. Mine even had the polished poles instead of the black ones you get now. Sounded almost like an active system, amazing
I have the same pickups in my jazz bass it's a newer American standard model I think it's a 2008 but it sounds exactly the same as the 70s jazz bass it's really crazy how similar it sounds
Hi, exelent playing, sound and demonstration! Question about A/B with stock pups (from your previous video) and these dimarzios. Does this lost thumpines and punch in E string comared to stock pups? Does these has enough bite and finger growl or not so much compared to stocks? I can't tell this after these two videos because you played fingerstyle much more agresive with stock pickup compared light atacck you use on this video. In slap terms I hear these are much much more musical, less metallic like stocks. More warm slappines etc. Just affraid that E string are dull, woofy and not anough articulate and punchy?? Finaly which you prefer more for funk, growl, punch, slap but in warm, not to hi fi teritory? THX in advance! Sorry to bother and for my bad English :)
Thank You for comment, Peter. I think I would take ori, stock Pups, they are just fine. However, You can just run some tests with DiMarzios, and find out, which is more apriopriate for You. cheers, Marcin

Thanks for add in the pick section 👍
You're welcome:-)
Nice tone and very nice playing.
Thank You, sir:)
Are they Hum-cancelling? Did you identify any noise when you mix the volumes?
Love this tone. Going to order a set of Model J's. Which Ernie Ball strings were you using?
Trzeba przyznać, że sporo świetnych riffów można podłapać słuchając takich soundtestów :D
Na zdrowie:-)
can't wait to get a set of those Model J pickups in my jazz. soooo aggressive, like a baby L2000!
Else I wonder how Marcin doez to play so perfect and gorgeous Fender basses ??? Great !
Tone for days!
Nice playing!!
Thank You!
Awesome sound!👍🎸
Thats oldschool JB :-)
I LOVE that groove!!!
Thank You, Alan!
It looks like and sounds exactly like my blond one from the 70's.
And the thumb rest is in the right place, not upside down.
Did standard cream pickup covers fit the Di Marzios without mods?
I believe they are cream, no cover.
Those are the Dimarzio DP123 Model J
Model J or Ultra Jazz pickups? Love your playing by the way
Oh thank You:) I believe it was model J. Cheeers!
Nice sounding bass
What a KILLER !!! wow ...
Thanks for the video. Is the Dimarzio pickup original or being replaced to this Jazzbass era?
which tipe of di marzio? I bought a fender vintera 70's and the pu are defective, i thought of replacing them with a pair of di marzio
Andrea, I don't remember which exact Pickups was installed in this bass.. I'm sure they were pretty old.. cheers!
Which exact model of jazz pickups from DiMarzio..cuz I think they have like 3 main ones..sounds REALLY REALLY good!!!
My guess is the Model Js as they often come in those creme colored covers. I had a set and they're really really nice. Thickens the sound a lot.
They have to be Model J; those are the only ones with hex screws
totally Model J
Nice
DiMarzio DP149BK?
what model of dimarzio picks?
I don't remember , sorry..
They have to be Model J; those are the only ones with hex screws

HereticJudgment Ernie Ball I supose...
500k pots or 250k pots?
? - appears we must assume so; great question though.
@@Tubulous123 500k
@@Ernalto Thanks ! - is that original?
@@Tubulous123 YES, original, i use and i love the sound, i put one audere preamp but i back to the passível tone
@@Ernalto Thanks Bro! I love it too. lol
Is there a tab for this?
No, I'm just messing around with my tests, trying to show bass from perspective of musical, not only phisical point of view, If Yo know what I mean:-)
Hi your setups sound great! Is it recorded direct in? Also wich type of dimarzio pickups are in it exactly?
Thanks it was recorded directly into DAW. I don't remember which exact pickups was there, I don't have this bass anymore , sorry. Have a nice Day:)

@@PepeOblivion1234 Yes, I only used Bass, cable, and soundcard here. Cheeers:)

Thanks for the DiMarzio test ... prefer original Fender sound ... these pickups sound excessively dark
