Great no nonsense video, straight to the point! Give more videos to this lady she is a pure car person.
Radio looks fine to me. Can't imagine it would get that much use and being a standard size its easy to swap out when obsolete. Very glad it doesn't have an iPad glued to the dash as is the current trend
My 1997 S1 had a cd player fitted by me, almost never used it (only when parked) and it was the only thing that rusted in the end!

Worth adding £20k in 1995 is now over £39k according to the Bank of England inflation calculator so given it had double the power of the original and is better built not exactly unjustified to charge £45k entry.

Lotus have/are selling the tooling. Hope the Elise goes to a Caterham like company and this little fun car has a new "lise" of life! Just sad that they were not able to continue selling in the US.
The worst thing I ever did years ago was sell my series 1 Elise 190 sport. Those were amazing days! 🥺😭

I'm sad I never got to experience the Elise/Exige because of my height. Seems like the perfect car for me other than fit.
Friend of mine, 6’5”, fit just fine in my elise , once he was in it …. Exiting the vehicle though 🤣

Does it have a mecanical limited slip differential as standard or is it an option ?
not an option - it's a negative - Elise is about handling, an lsd promotes understeer. Hard to appreciate if you think handling is only traction and roadholding
@@gordonimrie6968 Well, you can certainly install one, but apparently the engineers say they designed the car such that a LSD isn’t necessary. I’m not sure I believe that but I’ve not installed one on my Elise and I’m not keen on doing it anytime soon. Installed a Quaife diff on my Evora and it was a significant improvement. But the Elise is a different animal though

I don't get the issue with the price. Look how much a Golf R is. Look how much a Caterham 420R is.
I bought a new Exige 350 at Christmas and think it's the bargain of the century.
There is nothing else out there like these cars.
