    Note: I should have made this more clear in the video and I am getting a lot of questions about it. REGARDING MEASUREMENTS: I take photos of the measurements on that table, then I insert the photos into the listing. I do not write anything down. I use my photos of my measurements and it's working so much better for me.

    • @susanarrington9371
      @susanarrington9371 10 місяців тому +3

      I quit writing measurements when several buyers said measurements were off by 1/3….and I got them back damaged! I only refunded 1/3 of payments for the so called difference in measurements and eBay supposedly took care of rest and my Acct wasn’t affected but left it in their feedback in way ebay had to leave it! Now they have to see my pics with ruler and nothing written down…thou some tried to make me before they bought! They never did and this year no one has brought it up! Never write it down even approx…eBay won’t protect you!

      I do write my measurements in the listing, but I think I’m going to add the word approximate in there… For a little cushion lol… Also, I swear everybody uses that same scale. I see so many people online using it it was the first one Amazon recommended when I bought mine so I did and it’s been great. thanks for another awesome video! 💙💚🩵

      I always write my measurements down because I’ve noticed that when I take a photograph, a slight change in angle will change the measurement and make it wrong. I consider the photographs to be proof that I measured and where I took the measurement. But what I write in the description is gospel.

    After sourcing, I put used clothes in their own separate laundry bag and wash. If it’s a dry clean item I have it dry cleaned and factor the cost in my selling price.
    I then steam my items and list them all with measurements. I use the photo set up from Technsport
    I then store all my items in the same clear bags you use with labels and they are stored in bins with labels as well.
    My dresses are the only items I have racks for.
    Sticking a label on the items in the plastic bags makes it easier if I’m traveling for thrift trips for my husband to find the items sold and take them to the post office.
    Once you develop an organized system and stay consistent listing your sells will come. I will have my 90 days in as a reseller at the end of this month and I’m averaging 5 sales per day and I don’t even have 100 items in my store yet but I list 5 per day and I source very high in demand items. It’s hard work but I’d rather be working hard for myself then to be working hard for someone else.

    I've recently changed how I process items, and I'm successful about 70% of the time 😊. As soon as I get home from thrifting, I immediately go through everything, double-checking for flaws I might have missed. As I check each piece I make the title and save it to my drafts. Then I wash & hang to dry everything except NWT. Then I take photos with measurements, 5 measurements for shirts 6 for pants. The 6 for pants is new. Then I fold, package and inventory. Lastly, I finish the draft and make it live, unless I'm ahead, then I schedule for the following day. I always have items moving through the process, so I never run out of inventory, at least not yet.

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video! Short, sweet and to the point. I need to start listing and selling, but I’ve felt SO overwhelmed and intimidated by the whole process. This was the help I needed. Thank you, Quenby! ❤ Do you put any thank yous or notes in your packages? I get excited when I open a Posh or EBay package and it’s done so nicely…even if it’s a tiny “thank you” sticker. I know the seller appreciates my purchase. Don’t get that vibe when an item is just shoved in an envelope/box not protected. Just basic care of item is what I look for. 😐

    Great tip about taking pictures up front. I sell a lot of plush and I usually comp, do a draft or sell similar, figure out shipping, and then take pictures. You're so right- the lights pick out flaws I have missed and sometimes I've done the work on that listing for nothing. From now on, as soon as the item is cleaned and steamed, I will take photos. Thanks.

    Thank you for sharing! It's always so interesting to see how different folks arrange things. I just recently started really doing the batch approach - hanging in batches, defuzzing in batches, steaming in batches. Then when I'm ready and have the time, it's photo time! I can just grab and go. Wishing you a happy sales week!

    After my inventory grew substantially, I started a "bins" storage system similar to yours. I label my bins with a letter of the alphabet, then make a sort of "note to self" in the description -- at the end of the description I put the letter of the bin where the item will be stored. This makes it so much easier and faster to find and pull the item when it sells. I still have some long-tail items that were stored before I started this, and it is a game of hide-and-seek whenever one of those items sells! 😂

      You can add your bin number into the sku. When I started and added to my listings I always had to look at the description to know what bin the item was in. Now that I put it in the sku it is right there on the sold page under your item. Makes it so much easier when pulling 10 or more items.

    When I bring an item home, I immediately do a search, then if I find an identical or close item, I click "Sell Similar". Fill in a few details about my item, maybe change a few things up, and save as a draft. Later, after I take photos of all the items I searched and made drafts for, I go back and fill in with my photos & shipping details....and hit "LIST." I've saved so much time it's crazy! If you notice......almost all of us "piggy back" this way. (That's why I like to change a few words in the listing title.) Sometimes, if I have a lot of new items on a particular day........I fill it all in, photos, shipping and all....and just Save For Later and list it on a day when I'm not going to have time to list. It only takes a few minutes, early in the a.m., to list from your saved drafts set to GO!

    I'm like you. I have to work with what I have. A little bit here, there and everywhere. I'm curious how you record your measurements to eventually get to the listing. I measure mine while they're still hanging. I have a measurement template (bust, length, waist, inseam, etc.) that I put in a picture frame where I can write the numbers directly on the glass, I take a pic of the measurements I write down and then erase it for the next one. That way I don't have to type the measurements in the listing. I just include the pic. I really enjoy seeing how everyone works with the space they have. Thanks for sharing! Edit: I have that same rolling clothes rack. I've had others but I love this one! So sturdy and easy to move around!!

    I find it speeds things up to go ahead and package the item in a clear bag immediately after I photograph. I then take a photo of it on the scale with the sku number attached. Then when I am listing I know the weight to enter and I add the sku in the custom sku field so I know where to find it. Then I file all the items immediately after photos so it keeps things tidy. I also have to work in a few different corners of the house like you! 😊

      This is so smart! I think most people bag it right away and build the listings from the photos. I take an extra step and bag it after listing so I can do a last quality check in better lighting. Thanks for sharing your process!

    I’m glad I’m not the only reseller who works in the garage! I start there too I take pictures with my phone and upload them to a computer in my garage. Then I sometimes list from there or I also have a desk with a pc in my bedroom and I can list from that as well. Sometimes the weather isn’t nice and my garage gets freezing. I just need to commit to listing!!! I’m going to figure out a way to be more consistent. I loved meeting you at the bins! You are so cute and sweet. Do your hands ever get tired from holding the phone? Mine do 😢. That’s why I use both devices. My favorite part is sourcing though 😊😂. I love finding good stuff. Hope you’re doing well! I will message you next time I venture south. Best wishes friend! 💐

It was so great to meet you too. Yes, garage-life is not joke. During this heat wave, I was trying to get my garage stuff done in the morning. It is def dependent on the weather. oxoxoox Q

    I've been waiting for something like this, especially from you. Thank you! I am a member of the measurements team, though it doesn't always protect me in PM, once they sided with a buyer and paid me but suggested I photograph the measurements which I do now. I also bought a little white board and wrote measurements there like Courtney does, with a tape measure beside it. My 2 cents. Measurements are essential. I have always wondered how to save drafts on PM and want to add Ebay but it seems even with a crosslisting app that it's almost like listing it all over again. I'm guessing that folks who sell both places list from Ebay and cross post to other platforms. Sorry for blabbing on

    • @TheGratefulQueen
      @TheGratefulQueen  10 місяців тому +2

      Don't you ever worry about "blabbing on". I appreciate hearing your thoughts. So I list on ebay, then import the listings to VENDOO. It takes me like 30 seconds to crosspost to Poshmark on vendoo. It's a dream. I have a video tutorial on the channel on vendoo. I personally love listing on 2 platforms. I don't make as much on Posh, but it's great additional sales to boost my monthly numbers. xoxoxo Q

    I agree with u that it looks very nice to ship in a plastic poly bag, but a lot of people are against purchasing online with more throw away plastic being used. Especially vintage buyers.

    • @debbieholt8261
      @debbieholt8261 3 місяці тому

      I disagree. If they are concerned about the extra plastic bag, it can always be re-cycled by them for use. Presentation is everything. I’ve read from more than one person, if they DON’T receive their item first wrapped in a plastic bag, they will never purchase from that seller again. I have never forgotten that. I sell only hardgoods but I first package the item in a clear plastic bag. Then proceed to bubblewrap or what ever method of protection it requires, before boxing it up.

    Thank you for this, I, like others have wanted to see your actual process too! Question: You said that you do measurements during photo process, but didn't mention how you save the info for the listing? Do you write it down somewhere, or maybe you mean you photograph the tape measure on the garment? If so, do you do both -- photo measurements, plus write them out in the description as well? My biggest 'time suck' is the listing process! I find that for the most part, clothing doesn't take as much time as when I list my hard goods - vintage, collectibles, home decor, pottery, etc - cuz I spend so much time researching that stuff, I end up going down so many rabbit holes, lol, because I love it! But then I'm shocked at the time that has gone by :(

    • @TheGratefulQueen

      Thank you for catching this. I wish I had said in the video that I PHOTOGRAPH THE MEASUREMENTS AND PUT THEM IN MY LISTINGS AS PHOTOS. There, maybe viewers will see my caps and read that here. Thank you. Yes, listing hardgoods takes me way longer than clothing too. !

    Curious on the measurements. you didn't specify, but after you measure, do you write it down so you can put it in your listing or do you take photos of the actual measuring tape and add those to the listing? I am trying to figure out a better process for this.

    I'm going to start listing 10 a day. My average sale is $30. What kind of gross sales can I expect when I start listing 10 items a day? Is that a question that can even be answered? I'm trying to find a seller who made a video on listing 10 a day on ebay and what happened to their sales when they did that. I sell clothes mostly with 10% shoes.

    • @TheGratefulQueen
      @TheGratefulQueen  Місяць тому +2

      Yes, you are right. It's hard to answer because it depends on your cost of goods and other factors. How many items you have listed, how quickly they sell, whether you are top rated , fees etc. And the big one is are you really listing every day? Or is 6 days or 5 days?

      Yes. I put everything in the bag as soon as it's listed. This is a newer habit for me. I used to throw it all in a bin and then bag things later, but then I had tons of stuff in a pile waiting to be bagged. I dreaded it. Now I list my 10 and bag them and put them right away.
