He is the perfect embodiment of musical artistry and violin virtuosity. Mr Hadelich’s playing transcends words. He is my violinistic ideal. A violinist’s violinist! Thank you, dear sir, for generously sharing your art with the world and your admiring listeners.
I never really fully appreciated the music of Mr. Ysaÿe until I heard it played by Mr. Hadelich. This performance is nothing less than mesmerizing. New words need to be invented to more accurately describe the magnitude of Mr. Hadelich's performances. We are so fortunate to be living in an age where we can employ hi-tech audio and video equipment to capture performances such as this, which can be and will be treasured for probably hundreds of years.
The voicing, the intonation, the clarity, the phrasing, the total ease with rubato, the joy he seems to have as he “discovers” the piece while playing it. Just phenomenal. I have quite a few Ysayë recordings that I love, and I’ve worked on most of them myself, but I’ve never heard or imagined it like this.
Dear Mr. Hadelich, I am a new fan of your glorious violin performances. Just recently saw you perform in Phoenix where you played the Beethoven Violin Concerto , followed by the exquisite encore. I am a ninety-one year old lady who is so happy to have discovered you and your heavenly mastery of the Violin. Continue to be well and wonderful. Ruby Kaufman, Tempe Arizona
Lieber Herr Hadelich. You are the brilliant and a gift from God. Ysaÿe and you accompany me in my grief and help my soul. Your music Reminds me of Leonardo da Vinci's Saint John the Baptist. Mit bestem Dank.
Eugène Ysaÿe - Sonata for solo violin no. 4 e minor, dedicated to Fritz Kreisler Allemande (Lento maestoso) 0:00 Sarabande (Quasi lento) 4:38 Finale (Presto ma non troppo) 7:49
His sound, feels so smooth. The best way I can describe it is that it’s very silky and smooth no professional violinist of this age has such a smooth silky sound in my opinion 😍
Yes! Your absolutely right!!! We all wish best for you Augustin. God gives us you. Im so blessed to have possibilitie to hear your sound and your love for violin and music making
This is absolutely stunning. The definitive performance of this sonata. Otherworldly precision, musicality, and the smoothest transitions and phrasing combine for true perfection. Best bow control I’ve ever seen. Bravo!
I'm a violinist and I appreciate you very much for your grit i interpretation. You are the best. Thank you for the pleasure you give me when I hear you.
His pureness in sound and depurated technique is so inspiring. Another violinist that inspires me as well is Hilary Hahn. Their music is just so beautiful.
hohoho, studying orchestration I had to analyze this work. Listened to several versions. This one is just stunning. How well artistically played, this is why music exists! It's not an easy work, there are so many ideas, some of them actual jewels. This man plays all of them. sol fa# mi, so beautiful especially in Sarabande. Even in Finale, ideas are so clear, so beautiful played, perfect technique. Will follow you, congratulations, félicitations and felicitaciones! bravissimo, maestro!
I had to come and listen to the whole sonata, again, after your virtual concert in Mr. Oundjian’s home. Augustin, please know that there are no words to express our gratitude for all you do for us, through having dedicated your whole life, practically, to this beautiful gift, you so generously give to us, your listening audience.❤️
Out of this world. Thank you so much Augustin, you are by far the best and unrivalled violinist I’ve ever had the good unfortunate to hear. Thank God for UA-cam, we are really really lucky to have been able to listen and watch you create this amazing and awesome music 🎶 here in the comfort of our own homes. Although I would really really love ❤️ to see you live too. Bravo 👏 Bravo 👏 Bravo 👏 You are supremely talented and gifted too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Augustin, your tone is just so otherworldly, wow. I hope one day I could write a piece for you, that sound would be my dreams. Also that faster interpretation is incredible, it connects all the dots and keeps things sounding "humble" with just the right virtuosic edge! Thank you for posting this :)
Authentic_Bush think the dissonance is more drawn out in Esaÿe-more prominent, perhaps? Go to www.coloradomusicfestival.com, and watch the Augustin’s concert- it’s the third part. He talks about Bach and Esaÿe, in some detail. Very interesting conversation.
He has loyalty and such sensitive music understanding in his playing. His technic level has made him play easy and natural like he is just walking outside. As Saldarriaga said: Violinist's violinist !
Ysaye was a man really inspired by Bach and this sonata (besides obsession sonata) really shows that mainly in the chords, rhythms, and with snappy dotted rhythms with passages of constant non-dotted rhythms, you basically have Bach or at least have a Bach/baroque piece with that baroque dance feel.
Estupenda interpretation.
Je me réjouis d'avance.
Dear Augustin, I’ve always loved this particular movement of this Sonata and hold the Kalers recording as the reference one. Yours is so good that im now putting right up there with it. Great sound, great interpretation and oh boy does Henryks favourite Guarneri sound like a dream
This is the best violinist on the planet.
I would agree with that 100%!!
I think he’s just visiting
Don't forget Midori!😏

whenever I feel life has lost it's sparkle, all I need do is watch Augustin Hadlelich play Ysaÿe and all is right again
I feel that Augustin Handelich was born to play Ysaye. so good 😭

This has brought tears to my eyes. Thank you sir.
Baxrok2 I flat out wept, I was so moved. I couldn’t help but feel compassion for him at the end, to see how this piece seemed to utterly exhaust him.
Another perfect utterly unbelievable performance. Thank you so much. We are so privileged to be able to hear your performances
VERY pretty piece! It is delightful! The sarabande is LOVELY! You’ve outdone yourself again, Augustin!❤️

Also I love how Ysaÿe’s sonatas sound a like Bach but very dissonant
Elijah excellent description!
Bruh Bach is dissonant
Ysaye based his sonatas in Bach movements.
Elijah I thought I was the only one who thought that! Glad I'm not alone there

I keep waiting for you to make one little slip-up or execute one note a bit off. But it seems that I am waiting in vain, this is pure perfection!
Possibly one of my favorite recordings of Ysaye! I am in love with your playing

My favorite violinist!!!

Beautiful, May you have lovely 2020 Augustin :)

That rocks. I heard that Chuck Bontrager made an adaptation of the 1st movement for 7 String Violin with the bottom 3 strings tuned down a half step.
Amazing!!!
I really want to play a real guarneri. Be proud of you and thank Good for this beautiful instrument and for your *playing*
That was insane!!!! 🤩
In Tears!!!
in questo pomeriggio piovoso ...ti ringrazio tanto di avere dedicato la vita al violino...vale la pena, no?...ah ...la vida...!!!!
Astonishing! 👏👏👏👏 👏
This sonata is lucky to be performed by such an artist

Dear Augustine, this piece sounds like you wrote it yourself. You connect amazingly with what you play.
Is this seriously a live recording?? It's just perfect! Wonderful performance!! 👌👌

I’ve heard Stern and Perlman and they were great.
Agustin! Sos de mucha inspiracion para mi, Tu Mendelssohn es Increible. En realidad todo! Un abrazo desde Argentina!

Incredible
Is he even human , how is this so effortlessly in tune
this is awesome.
9:46-9:49 is probably the cleanest bowing I've ever heard.
