it turned out great, the small bubbles in the water worked to your advantage, as if the iceberg is stirring up the water and then the glitter makes it look like it's snowing 😊
What you have done is really cool. But, obviously the thin glass is always a risk of breaking. For future lightbulb dioramas - there is a light bulb mold set that comes with ends with LEDs in them to light them up. Maybe that would work?? I have the set, it's pretty cool. 2 bulb shapes
They make solar lightbulbs too that are plastic, and it just takes a little set of button cells with an on/off button and tiny solar panel all in one. Definitely would be awesome and less fragile
Your diorama is so cute. The glycerine was definitely the right choice. Such an interesting idea to put it in a lightbulb. It's a good thing you were wearing that glove when you were trying to cut the glass though, ouch!
With the glycerine & glitter, I think that the tiniest pinch of grey mica powder, might look sorta like fog or mist. But I would really Really, hate to mess up the beautiful creation he has now😢just to find out❤!!!
Absolutely a great choice, the snowglobe effect looks awesome! And I love the addition of those stars!!! Just a few like that gives a really nice touch, and the style of them keeps a really nice nature-inspired feel, I think!
Wow! The bulb turned out so beautifully!!! 🥰🥰 I was surprised the second bulb didn't break. After seeing how thin they are, it's a wonder we don't break more! 😅 Awesome job, Ben! Awesome job! Much love to all! 😊💜
Just started watching this video and I have to say, you are one of the most creative people I have ever seen. Honestly, who looks at a lightbulb and says “I think I’ll make an iceberg diorama out of this”. Brilliant but also who thinks that way? Keep up the amazing work and thanks for creating such awesome content both on this channel and the vlog.
Good thing you were wearing that thick glove. Safety first, my friend. 👍 Oh my goodness! This turned out spectacular! I think you definitely made the right call adding the glycerin and glitter. I hope you do more of these in the future. Maybe you can use old mason or jelly jars.
Oh yes you made the right decision,Ben. It's so beautiful. The sparkling and the stars are so cool and the bear on 4 legs is great. Wonderful for the Christmas season.😊❤🎉
Wow, I love it! The blue "water" and the sparkly sky are perfect for the polar bear. The iceberg looks really cool. You really outdid yourself on this one! Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lovely work. I really like that. A tip for the hot glue is to put a bit of isopropyl alcohol (or isopropanol, same thing) on it and it will loosen and weaken the bond it has. Makes it come off super easily. You don't need all that much, just enough to wick in between it and what it's stuck to and if it only comes part way off put on a bit more as you work it loose. I use that trick to get it off of delicate electronics all the time and it never fails.
I kept getting shivers and cringing each time I saw the hand near that sharp glass of the lightbulb end! I swear I could feel the cut happening! The bulb looks great!
Just a thought... If you decide to make another, you might position the standing bear so that it appears to be either exiting or entering the water. Awesome project again! :)
This looks so sweet!! Definitely the right choice! Just to let you know that you can get light bulb shaped silicone moulds so that could save you fiddling around with all the glass and will cut down on costs if you want to make a bunch of different ones. I am not sure whether they come with the metal base (I think they do but not 100% sure) but you can always get those from genuine bulbs if not. I may have to try a snow globe like this too! It looks epic! 🤘🏻
Well done Ben... Personally I would have had the face of the pointing either leeft or right or even reverse to what it is. Good job all the same. Love it.
Super cute. I would've done it without the stars but I love it. I hope to see a whole month of CHRISTMAS items coming up. My wife would love a Christmas Dragon Egg.
@@dianeh2420 first of, not as rich as you think bucko, so cant afford all the fancy stuff to do what Mr Ben does, wish i could, then i can send them both a thank you gift for all the inspiring videos they have given us to watch. Secondly? ill say it really slowly in hopes it gets through to your brain..... I AM. A. GIRL. A. FEMALE. understood, bucko? :/
Besides, he asked! "What do You think?" I think it might be nice with the tiniest pinch of grey mica powder with the glycerin & glitter, to make it look like fog or mist! But I would hate to mess up the beautiful scene he's created already, just to find out! Maybe use something cheap just to see the results before the expensive resin & work went into it? Some people like to hear what others think, because you never know, they might have a good idea that you hadn't thought of!
That was awesome! From the way you made the video (being genuinely nice and considerate, and not being pushy like other channels, plus even the music choice was perfect!) to the level of instruction. Love it! I'm about to embark on some trials with resin work in lightbulbs, but they're very different from that kind. I'm hoping that bubbles won't be a major issue. Can I send you a few pictures when I get them done? I would love for you to spread the word/idea, since I think many people have overlooked this type of resin project. Thank you for the nice and peaceful video! We really need some mellow and happy things to focus on right now in America.. This election has taken the piss out of everyone that's fighting to maintain democracy and freedom here. Thank you again!
Looks great Ben! I think you should make a cast of a lightbulb then you can do more resin lightbulb projects without the risk of glass breaking. You could even make some of them into actual lamps! Hope all is well with the family. ❤
I'm definitely biased since I love snowglobes but you made the right choice. ETA Using light bulbs might be a way for me to fix some of my snowglobes that broke in transit.
