Long time watcher, not much of a commenter. Not sure if this has been suggested, but how about an egg shape with a half hard boiled egg? Horizontally or vertically or both? I understand you like to attempt these things with fruit and whatnot. Or would it possibly cook too much in something like Potcam? Cheers!
What would happen if you tried this again, but this time let the resin setup before popping the balloon. Once the resin is setup try popping the balloon with a laser.
it would be interesting to see what it would look like with the resin being one color, and the water in the balloon another.
I was hoping he'd dump the water out of the first one, and fill it with colored resin.
Same idea. Fill ballon with colored water. That contrasted with colored resin. How to color code air?
Is it too dangerous? ……. Yes it is too dangerous to have Nicole throw water balloons at you and expect any form of accuracy
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nicole needed to aim a little higher. But Ben did insist. 🤣🤣🤣
😂
It's like you froze the explosion in time!
Laser to pop the balloon.. Then you can wait until resin cures
Underrated comment
I love that you do these experiments. Even though we will never need to pop a water balloon in resin, this is valuable information for how resin reacts in more "normal" projects. Good on ya!
Thanks Mate
Coloured water in the balloon may have been interesting.
Only with a white shirt.
@@shirleyannconfer9651 😆😆
and maybe some glitter or sand for a snow globe effect
Thought - if you replicate this experiment with a larger balloon & cup, cut off the top & bottom, turn it with the lathe until the interior water (some or most gets discharged), and then recast with a colored resin in an appropriately sized receptacle, de-gas & turn it into an egg or sphere? Hollowed out voids with color? Or, maybe use dye/ink in the water? Just a thought... Love your vids, bro!
I think the water will slowly leak out and create bubbles in the resin.
That was a cool experiment. The second one turned out perfect. You can actually see the water "pop" like it's frozen in time. Great job, Ben. I'm also glad to see you really thought this through and took safety precautions.
Hey Ben, I know you've been walking with your son, you look like you've lost some weight. Keep up the great work. ❤️
Thankyou 😊
Have you ever tried casting a prince Rupert's drop with the tail exposed then snipping it when the resin is almost cured?
It’s on my list 👍
@@BensWorxAwesome, I’ll sub so I don’t miss that. It’s a great experiment to try.
@@BensWorx looking forward to that one
In the opening I could just see Nicole throwing that balloon. Lol. The green balloon looked almost like a mushroom cloud. It was cool how the pink balloon moved upright. Pretty cool Ben!❤
Thanks Connie 😊😂
Maybe you could have coloured the water but still it is a great experiment. 😊
I’m glad you had something heavy behind the cup on the second try. Holding the cup in your hand, and for that matter having any part of your body close when you pop the balloon, is definitely NOT advised.
That was great. Ben do it again and add a drop of color to the water. I saw the vlog. It was fantastic. Nice shot Nicole.
Thankyou 😊
wonder if you could try that with colored water in the balloon to see the contrast just a thought
Yeah I said the same thing to Nicole after I glued them down 👍
always fun to see what happens with these experiments. i think with the second one, that hiss was from water coming out the hole, hitting the hot part of the needle that was still outside the cup, and turning right into steam!
Ben, I’ve had this idea for a while. Fully cast a balloon filled with air, and put it in the pressure pot. I’m curious if the air inside the balloon will change shape while inside the pressure pot.
I saw the vlog yesterday, I was expecting it... and Nicole's throw still came as a surprise!
I think that was pretty neat. It would have been cooler if the water had been colored a blue to contrast against the pink balloon. Well done!
Thankyou 😊
Somehow I just KNEW you were going to get hit with a water balloon! 🤣🤣
😂
A light green die in the water would have contrasted well with the pink balloon. I hope you will do this experiment again. Love it. :)
Love the experiments and slo-mo stuff! Great work as always but please do be safe.
I AM glad you didnt hold onto the cup as you punctured the balloon the 2nd time. That really worried me the 1st time. I was afraid it would splash hot resin onto the arm and hand you were steadying the cup with.
I was so worried for him
It was fun to see the finished intro after watching all the takes. Both balloons turned out really cool, even though the first one leaked water. Did either one leak resin through the needle hole? I'm glad you used your safely gear. You never know! Thanks Ben and Nicole! 🎈🎈🎈
Thankyou, I had a little bit leak out but it was minimal 😊
Awesome to get to see the final video!
Thanks Nicholas 😊
I love watching you make stuff your attitude is just so uplifting
Fantastic experiment! Love it! Thank you! Take care and stay safe!
Thankyou 😊
Totally cool! I agree with those who suggested coloring the water... or the resin. It would look awesome. Also, if there is any possibility of a plastic cup without the rippled sides, that would stand up to the heat of the resin, that would be great! I wonder what oil (or clear shampoo, paint, cement, baking soda) in the balloon would look like?!?! I know lotion doesn't react with the resin... so the cavity left behind should not have any soft edges... so it could be cleaned out and filled with colored resin!
Do this exact same experiment with colored water. Beautiful job mate. Appreciate what you did there.
I saw the vlog last night so that opening definitely made me laugh!!
Thankyou 😊
Slow mo popping shot was awesome!
This one was AMAZING!
Love the experiments Ben.
so much is going on inside the resin, so cool 😊
I was so nervous watching this. It looks like smoke came out of the hole you poked. Very cool but I was glad to see you stand off to the side. I won't try this at home lol
Thankyou 😊
I think colouring the water so you can see the contrast would be awesome! Either way this was so cool! Thanks for sharing!
That was very neat. So cool
Thankyou
I was afraid at first that the water would have separated the resin in half completely and ut end up in two pieces. It looks really cool with the water trapped inside.
(And the vlog video on the intro was funny and made me happy and laugh)
Thanks Mate
Thats incredible!!
I saw the vlog with Nicole throwing water balloons at you. It was hilarious!! The experiment was cool! I love how they both turned out. Slow mo was cool indeed. Thanks for sharing!! 😊💜
Thanks Mel, we really appreciate it :)
Cool experiment. It would look cooler with colored water for contrast.
Excellent!
Thanks Lynn 😊
I think seeing this with blue or green water in the balloon would be awesome. A nice contrast.
I looooove your experiments! ❤
Ben! You should try orbies, or water beads, or whatever they are called! I've yet to see someone try them by using a stabilizing resin, yet. Thick resin wont permiate the beads, but they might bloom in the stabilizing resin. It's a lot less viscous. Just an idea! :)
Love it!
Thanks Linda 😊
So awesome the way tbe ballaon exploded . 👏👏👏
Yeah it was cool
Wow! That was so cool.
That is so cool thanks
Hi Ben and Nicole, that was cool. The movement of the resin is always amazing. I wonder would a balloon of fine pretty glitter and some air make a good display!!!???### Have a great weekend.
Thanks Rose 😊
I think the most impressive part is that you have a special adaptor attached to your hose specifically for filling balloons.
Very cool!!
Thankyou 😊
Try coloured water (food dye) in a few more.
Cool and the balloon stood back up 😂 perfect experiment, 👏👏👍
Thanks Alison 😊
I thought of a long one...
Dip a wooden dowel into resin every time you mix a batch of coloured for other projects. It's just a thin coat each time but, once it gets enough layers, throw it on the lathe! As you turn all the layers will show!
Very very cool Ben
Nice job on that. Be neat to see you add that to a larger cup. And make an egg. So you don't have to worry about the water escaping.
Thankyou 😊
Wow. Even in slow mo it pops FAST!
That was really cool!
Awesome Video Ben and Nichole and i hope you are all well🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Thanks Mate
Its so awesome. I really like that.
Thankyou
@@BensWorx you're welcome
That was so cool!
Nice one!! It was cool to watch the balloon as it cured.
Yeah it danced a bit 😊
Loved this. Would be good if you put food colouring in the water so we could see the water b3tter and exactly where it went in the resin, as its a bit hard to see with the resin and water being the same colour
It seems like you need more of a shell. Maybe create a UV “shell” over the ballon except for the hole you pop the balloon through. Then put a layer on the bottom of the cup. Secure your balloon and pour the resin in. Pop the balloon inside it’s shell and let the rest harden over.
i was expecting an explosion honestly, but i love how the balloon exploded inside the cup! as someone said already, it would be interesting to see colored resin or water to mix up like this.
Now maybe Nicole should have her own channel where she plays around with her projects and stuff
That was a pretty neat experiment, Ben!
Thanks Mate
Most wholesome youtuber reward to you 🥇 (And one for Nicole for amazing support 🥇)
You should fill the balloon with resin also... maybe add a little color to it 🙂
That was brilliant, but I have to admit the behind the scenes video on the vlog for that one was better, hehe. I agree with the others about the colored water - a few drops of food coloring perhaps, to really see where the water is in that resin once it hardens. Great video.
Thanks Lisa 😊
That was a really cool experiment I was nervous
I'd love to see if mold release will pop a water balloon.
if not, you should get one of those lasers that can pop balloons.
do the set up the same excepts spray mold release on the outside of the balloon, then once the resin cures, see if you can pop the balloon with the laser.
Can you cure resin in resin? I hope this doesn't sound insane because I have no idea if it would even work. You make a clear resin container that is hollow. You then carry out the balloon experiment inside the clear resin container popping the balloon with one of those strong handheld laser pointers. That way there is no risk of the water making the sides weak and you would have a nice, smooth surface to look through instead of having the ridges of the plastic cup. I have clearly never actually worked with resin, so I have no idea if any of that is doable. lol
Really love the shape and I also watch Mike’s channel and believe you did a great job.
What a fun video. Thank you Ben.
I wonder if there's a way to make such a work of art into a drinking glass?
Thankyou, I probably wouldn’t recommend it unless you have food safe resin 👍
I have an idea. Take 2 different brands of resin and mix them both according to their respective directions, then immediately mix the 2 samples together and see if that resulting sample will successfully encapsulate something.
That was very cool. I think it would be good if you left the nail stuck in the cup after popping the balloon. It would add a little extra visual flair.
Wow!
Very interesting but I was still smiling from yesterday’s blog 😂
Thankyou 😊
I thought for sure it was going to explode on you.. Great experiment!
you could take this casting, put it in a large container, pour more resin, and turn a large egg
Definitely
inside the water balloon put some glitter or resin pigment then put the water in and then re try. Controversially alcohol and heat sensitive powder might be fun, but dangerous, or slow set resin coloured, inside the resin or uv cure resin inside a black balloon, pop that in hi UV light you might get some cool stuff with that.
Ooookay, that’s cool, butttttt…
You should cast a shell in the cup first, get a nice thick layer on the sides, then attach the balloon to the bottom, then pour and pop as you did.
The key is to glue a very small clear straw to the side of the cup for your needle to go through.
This way you can trap the water with thick enough sides that you can turn it down.
Interesting experiment! It looked like you did remove the plastic cup afterwards. What I find rather interesting is that the water wasn't incapsulated by the inner perimeter of the cup but rather totally by the resin itself. Unless of course I viewed it wrong. Thx😮
Thankyou, yeah it was fully incapsulated by the resin
Nicole will be happy with your modified POKER!!!!!! LOL!!!
I wonder if the hissing was the air rushing into the space the balloon and water occupied? It didn't seem to last very long and air bubbles appeared. Great experiment.
Thankyou, I’m not too sure 😊
That egg is sweet but was looking suspicious for a second
A great explosive video 😂 go balloon poppers 👍❤️
Thankyou 😊
I totally expected the second one to come out as two pieces of resin, it looked like the water had cleanly separated the top and bottom
You should try this again with colored water so you can see it. put a few drops of food coloring in the balloon before filling it
Definitely
The one air pocket in the pink one looks like a reindeer being blown apart 😂
That's really cool. I like the idea of coloured resin.
I do wonder if that what you've made was put inside a larger cup, more clear resin then turned down a little to make glossy?
Cool idea, well made too and yes, safety first!
So if you pop that baloon after the resin is cured or closer to the end by having glass tube (like the kind used to draw blood when testing with a small centrifuge) that is inserted into the cup side and attached to the baloon with suction making a kind of mold. At the end you can pop it through the glass tube and maybe block it or let it flow out.
I like how the slow mo looks like a mushroom cloud in the resin
Maybe do it again but with glitter or something like the pearl white micapowder In the water
I was scared for you for a minute.
Always love watching you guys do the experiments always so cool.
Couple of thoughts on it if you want to try them again. One put colored water in the balloons to really see where it goes and ends up and two make a thin layer of maybe uv resin on the inside and bottom of the cup before mounting the balloon in it. But if you do that you may have to pre mount the needle in the side of the cup so that all you would have to do is tap the needle to pop the balloon. Then it should be sealed enough so as the water wouldn't run out the hole or leak through the top and sides. At most you might have to run a drop of uv resin around the needle after removing the cup and I am thinking it would all be sealed inside and in color.
Again love watching you guys do the experiments always, always so very cool 😎😎😎
👍👍👍
ps just thought of another couple things to try, a balloon filled with just air, and one filled with something carbonated Coke, Pepsi or something to that matter unless you think that could be too dangerous.
Thanks Gary, yeah that should work 👍
Very cool. If you try it again, you should put some color dye in the ballon. The contrast should be interesting.
Funny how bubbles got larger when finally cured, didn't just float higher. One "problem" is you may not be able to demold - top and bottom parts almost completely separated by the water layer. I wonder if you could cast a resin box, cute that long enough to maintain its shape, and pour your balloon mold inside that? Trickier to pop, but you have a clear surrounding box. Hmmm...
I think you should do a water balloon in resin and let it harden allll the way (maybe have a hard bottom layer of resin for the balloon to stick to) and then use a magnifying glass or violent shaking to pop the balloon so you have just an empty space full of water in the resin
I love watching your experiments, what about Setting a party popper off as its setting . 😊
