    I don't even know where to start. This is by far the best trailer build (not just for DJs) I have seen. You eliminated everything bad about having a trailer and even created a portable outdoor DJ booth with a light show. Brilliant.

      Thanks for the positive feedback DayNNyteDJs! We tried to put a lot of thought into the planning stage, and eliminate many of the negatives of having a trailer like you said.

    OMG, where do I start? :-) I love the ladder attachment on the roof, The fire extinguisher, first aid kit. The alarm system and electronics are off the hook. I can only imagine that your wiring is pretty damn tight for your equipment as well. :-) Outstanding job. Thanks for putting all the work in this video. You're gonna make me up my game on my trailer now LOL!

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  5 років тому

      Hello DjErikg, please see the description for a list of products we used in the trailer build. The transition flap is a 1/4" thick piece of diamond plate aluminum, 10" wide, and with a 30deg bend in it. We then riveted a piano hinge to one edge, and screwed the other side of the hinge to the trailer floor. Voila, simple as that!

    Can you give me more guidance on how you wired the solar light to the 3 position switch.

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  6 років тому

      Certainly! First I set the operating mode to 'Mode 3', which keeps the light off unless motion is detected and then the light remains on until 30sec after the movement stops. Then, I opened up the light and found the positive wire that goes from the PCB to the LED's. I cut this wire and extended the leads into the trailer where the switches are, and placed the switch in series. Essentially the motion sensing is always on and trying to trigger the light with movement, but if the switch in the trailer isn't closed it is unable to complete the circuit and the LED's won't turn on. Hope this helps!

    can you maybe provide me a current link that works for the alarm that you used?
    also was the door sensors included or was they a separate purchase?
    i am looking at buying me a trailer soon and was wanting something like yall had come up with... not to extreme just a battery on board for the alarm and some 12 volt power for lights inside
    .. on ebay or amazon? i am from the united states

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately the exact model that we used is no longer available, but any cheap and basic vehicle alarm will work for your application. The magnetic door switches were a separate purchase, but they will work with any alarm system that uses NO or NC switches to trigger the alarm. Hope this helps, and good luck on your build!

    I have been looking for a long time on a good trailer build out and this is it. I have a 6x12 as well and you have given me some great ideas, I am looking forward to your list of materials. Did you do an outside plug to charge as well just in case the solar doesn't work?

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  7 років тому

      Thanks for the great feedback! We just updated the video description with links to products we used, so feel free to browse. We didn't bother putting in an outside plug and permanent charger in the trailer, we didn't feel it was necessary with such a large 100w panel on the roof and the fact that it can still trickle charge on the cloudiest of days. In fact, even parking under a light post in a parking lot will provide a small charge to the battery.

    • @FiredogEntertainment
      @FiredogEntertainment 7 років тому

      Would love to see your transition plate from the trailer to the ramp. I'm looking at a shore line plug since I am in a wooded area so the solar panels may not work out to well for me

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  7 років тому

      We had the transition plate custom made by a local shop. It's just a 10" wide piece of 1/8" thick diamond plate aluminum with a 30 degree angle bent into it. Then we bought a piano hinge from home depot, pop-riveted it to the aluminum and screwed the hinge onto the trailer. If you're in a shaded area like a forest, the shore plug is a good call. You can likely get away with a small trickle-charger if it's going to be plugged-in most of the time. Also consider putting a 7-pin wiring harness on your trailer/car so the alternator will charge your trailer battery while in transportation.

  • @jschmidty23
    @jschmidty23 5 років тому +1

    How did you connect your alarm system to your exterior trailer lights? Did you have the exterior lights somehow run off the battery in the trailer or just tap into the connection running from the car? Thanks

    • @tictac1919
      @tictac1919 5 років тому +1

      Hi Jacob, our alarm system had a wire which was intended to be tied into a car’s headlights/tail lights. We took this wire and tied it into the brown wire of the stock trailer wiring harness. The whole system runs off of the battery located in the trailer.

    • @jschmidty23
      @jschmidty23 5 років тому

      @@tictac1919 On my alarm I have a parking light isolation wire and parking light output wire so I'm thinking one of those does what I need. So sounds like you just spliced it in to the brown wire, but are the trailer running lights still powered off your car or is the battery in the trailer what powers them? Also in the video your trailer was disconnected from a vehicle so it seems like the lights are powered from your trailer battery, but what if your trailer battery dies? Then do the running lights not work anymore or are they still powered from the car. Thanks for responding, there's not much info about this online.

    Where did you source those door sensors? I am not finding anything but the standard pin switches for auto alarm systems? That looks like a magnetic switch?

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  5 років тому +1

      Hi Brett, 90% of the materials for this build were sourced from amazon. We just used a generic magnetic door switch with NC and NO contacts, then wired them in place of the standard pin switches. The exact product we used can be found here: www.amazon.ca/Directed-Electronics-8601-Magnetic-Switch/dp/B0009SUF08/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=magnetic+switch&qid=1551322290&s=gateway&sr=8-3 Cheers!

    Wow great trailer what did u make the transition flap from and how do u have flapping back and forth

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  6 років тому +2

      Hi Hardlash, the transition flap is a 10" wide piece of 1/8" thick diamond plate aluminum with a 30 degree angle bent into it. Then we bought a piano hinge from home depot, pop-riveted it to the aluminum and screwed the hinge onto the trailer. To flip it back and forth, the rear door pushes it up and gravity pulls it down. Sometimes simple is the best solution!

    Where did you get the transition ramp for the door?

    • @ampdentertainment9901
      @ampdentertainment9901  3 роки тому

      The transition ramp for the rear door was custom fabricated by a local metal shop! It’s simply a piece of diamond stamped aluminum plate with a 30 degree bend put into it. You can have them cut custom sizes to fit your trailer best. We then pop riveted a piano hinge from Home Depot to the aluminum plate, and screwed it to the trailer floor.
