I want this show to succeed and get the ending it wants to do/deserves to do so bad! I hope MGM realizes that the only reason anyone even has MGM+ is for this show. Give Harold and the showrunners and writers all the money you have to keep this going

Very much worth the watch. Just went back and started re-watching to see all the things now that we know SOME of the "what". Even the first episode that i was planning to just have on in the background had me locked in. I sure hope we can get some answers to the WHY this season. It feels like we're getting soo close!!!!
The main thing that will always makes me love from is how well it executes the horror theme. Especially this season has me on edge, things just jump at us now
Lost is my favorite show of all time. Until the last season. From is lost. Tilly is lock. Boyd is Jack. Kenny is Hurley. The addict girl is the hobbit guy. Fatima is Claire. Victor is Desmond, the monsters are the others. The big boss is the man in black. And we are never going to know why any of this is happening.
Trust me From has a huge fan base. There was a guy on TikTok, who worked on power lines, made a video about going to location and when they got there, he showed a big old tree in the middle of the road. The hundreds of comments and the things they mentioned about the show was mind-blowing. He thought he was the only person that he knew watching the show. Nah, we are definitely out there.
Have you seen Wayward Pines? It a mystery box show…it’s actually the same premise as From. Except they tell the entire story, answer all questions in one season. Done beautifully. I’d definitely recommend you checking it out.
@@isaiahdismuke1472 I hate when people say that as it paints a negative picture in people’s minds and makes them afraid to watch the first season. I directed him to the first season only and explained how the entire story is wrapped up in the first season. Season 2 is completely irrelevant.
@@noahfym4439 It’s just the show makes it hard at times. When I recommend people watch season 1 I tell them to end at a certain point. The show ends with a cliffhanger that forces you into season 2…which was awful. But the ending of season 1 does make season 2 very relevant. It makes you look forward to something that isn’t satisfying. So I tell people to watch season 1 and you can safely skip season 2.
The problem with creating so many mysteries within a show is that people's expectations grow endlessly. Then at the end, even if everything is tied up nicely, nobody is satisfied, because the answers turned out to be something entirely different from what you expected!
Im 100% sure the ending is going to suck but i dont care. The pacing is good, im never bored watching this show and the cliff hangers on almost every episode make me hyped for the next one.

Right after season 1 came out my brother told me he was watching a new vampire show called “from town” and that it was pretty good and I should check it out. So I’m like “hell yeah, who doesn’t like a good vampire show” and me and my gf check it out that night and instantly we were hooked. Later on while looking for theories and reviews for the show I found out it was by the people who made lost which scared me a little because I really want this show to have a good ending lol
So.. 6 seasons of mysteries that never get answered or even addressed, then the show shrugs it's shoulders and says, "I dunno. Purgatory?". I hope it turns out differently - but after 2 seasons of "From", I could see the familiar beats of "Lost". I'll continue to look on from afar.
Puzzle solving in 'From' is pointless because in that supernatural town every explanations are supernatural. So it can be absolutely everything far FROM the logic and physics.
Fringe and Alias were really good. Both ended on short last seasons, but overall very good shows. Some parts of From reminded me of those shows and is the reason I like this one so much.
Ngl, I’m worried it’ll end in the same fashion as lost. I recently watched an interview with the creators where they said “there won’t be a big pay off at the end”. 😢, this leads me to think we won’t get all the answers…
Being a little more optimistic, I think that the answers will be distributed at the end of the third, fourth and even the last season. Maybe that's why it won't have as much weight.
You’re a goofy liar. I’ve seen countless interviews where the show runners said the exact opposite of your nonsense you just pulled. They literally say-continuously-that all the mysteries will connect and come together in a “satisfying and gratifying” way. Their words. Go start drama somewhere else.
I think the real problem is that the writers are from network tv. They are assuming they are going to get 5+ seasons to complete the story. The fact that they haven't said a specific end date or maximum number of seasons tells me they are going to milk it until everyone is pissed.
Lindeloff & Cuse were definitely jerking the audience around, Velodus done a massive series breaking down how exactly they did it. From is extremely promising, it's clearly got elements tied together building to something...
I know this comment is late but there are major things that FROM is doing better in comparison to LOST. The first thing is the variety of characters that are realistically likeable and unlikable. Some of these people are annoying and stupid but they’re like people you would meet in real lif so it’s believable. Lost would give a back story to a character and make them disappear for a season. In FROM the story equally follows all characters in a way that makes them interesting and unforgotten. I feel like they’re are also partially giving more context to each clue so the process continues instead of reverting to flashbacks so we can care about the characters. FROM learned a lot from LOST and it’s doing it better. Lost pioneered this type of show and we all owe them gratitude but From is delivering what we were promised 20 years ago 😂
So far, it's a great premise but the execution is extremely mixed so it's like the hope is there that they had the story mapped out so everything teased actually has meaning and is actually going to pay off, but, especially season 2, makes it worrying. This season they got a lot better with characters speaking, but it's a problem how often they have characters learn something and just inexplicably ignore it and tell no one. If they can commit to not revealing things to characters unless they are actually going to have them use the info, it could be great, this season is a big improvement so far but it's still shaky ground IMO. If we call a spade and spade, they have done a lot of the same things that went wrong with Lost, if we actually ran through the massive laundry list of mysterious things they teased the last 2 seasons that didn't pay off, tie into other things yet, or have seemingly any reason to be teased that early, I think it's fair to be skeptical that all of it is gonna pay off and they weren't doing the false hooks trope from shows like Lost or Pretty Little Liars.
Kenny, Kristi and Jim are some of the underrated characters of this show. specially Jim i have seen many people hating on him but he has been doing something from the moment he came in town but people are still acting like Tabitha is the one doing things when she is just being a crybaby and lucky person who is throwing it all away.
I’m just wondering what they’re going to do as the actor that plays Ethan gets older. Will they kill him off ? Will they crack the mystery escape or remain trapped and end the show or will they do a time jump in the show to accommodate Ethan’s aging and getting bigger?
well technically before carl died in the walking dead he should have been only 2/3 years older. i think the kid started the show when he was 9 or 10 and he was fired at 17.
I'm hoping that they can give answers to all the mysteries they put on the table, like who's talking to Jim on the radio when the satellite was established, and who's the one in control of that place because it seems, it can put and can bring back anyone it wants to to fromville.
I loved Lost in the beginning though it's ending was too out there. Convoluted much? Apparently, they pitched the show from with the ending apparently. So, it won't end the way LOST did. Also, there is fictional material it could be inspirational source material. Out there in the real world that explains looping liminal spaces in physics.

I think From is already making the same mistakes Lost did. Lots and lots of unanswered questions and more keep being added without any clarification about the previous ones. Some stuff that happened has already been forgotten by now - Sara hearing voices, Martin dude that infected Boyd, the giant spider and so on - and we don't see much of a plot development in 25 episodes and 2 years of air time. I have zero expectations and I do not believe it will end in a satisfactory way. Still watching tough, mostly because it's funny to see how their behavior 80% of the time is the exact opposite of the obvious course of action they should follow. 😂
Most aggravating show ever made 3 seasons in and I have no fukin idea what's going on I don't think one Answer has been given to the of thousands of questions posed What the hell is that place? Why are the people there? who are these people? what is the evil Entity getting from all this? Is it an evil entity or something else? who the hell knows because nobody's getting any fukin answers
Yes. anytime they do a show that requires "8 seasons" (a quote form the directors who were being interviewed), that also makes too many people ask too many questions over too much time, they will most assuredly screw it up. It will most likely be canceled around season 4 or 5, the second it drops below a set number of viewers. Mainly because studios are stupid and don't appreciate their fan bases, and directors take too long to tell their damn stories (forgetting people aren't reading books anymore and don't want to be led in a book like way by a weekly serial show). Imagine From trying to pull a "Lord of the Rings Extended Cut" on the Tik-Tok-Insta-Dopamine brain trust. We have lost so many shows that were way better than From or even Lost, and even got a half-assed unintended ending to Lost (writer's strikes being blamed for cutting season five down to 1/3rd its intended size and ruining the plot that they were about to use with Walt the little boy). As much as I absolutely love this show, that right there pretty much proves it'll shatter. All it takes is the actor who plays Ethan aging too much between season 4 and 5 and BOOM, no season 5, or some stupid ass time jump that has to be expositioned in a way that kills it. They need to probably film multiple seasons back to back if they keep involving little kids in the script. The boy in white becoming the preteen snob in white was already a red flag. Pretty soon it will be Ian McKellen in a white suit tearing poor old man Kenny's throat out (because apparently all the bad things happening to Kenny aren't really part of the show, but according to the interview just pranking and hazing the actor who plays Kenny because he's good at being sad; that's pretty messed up).
Teacup also has me on edge too. Don't know what the hell is happening but I think they will at least guide us to answers before creating more questions. Seems more straightforward.😅
Severance is also good. It is just 1 season for now. But season 2 in January. Really hoping the mystery keeps ramping up there too with some creepy moments.
LOST, Fringe, Under the Dome, Westworld, Walking Dead, even Game of Thrones, are all puzzle box shows that had no satisfying payoff. In fact, can someone suggest a puzzle box show that is actually good throughout the entire series?
From budget seems like it dropped with season 2 and 3. Could be because of the new owners, or maybe ratings aren't as good as they could be. So, it's possible the show gets cancelled before they resolve it.
I’m commenting just to get as many new viewers to this show as possible … Time to scroll through all the comments and thumb up the good ones. Algorithm shit.
I think “The Leftovers” did an amazing job. The second season is my favorite season of tv ever. Most of the public never watched it but I think it was a better lost though less action oriented.
@@Heroasaurus "The Leftovers" is not as subtle with their religious subtext as "Lost". They're in your face with it and it gets stale pretty fast. "Lost" managed to avoid this and did in an interesting way. It didn't badger the viewers over the head with meaningless dialogue and it didn't just rely on bible stories to move the plot along. It had fun mysteries and fearless characters. Plus, "Lost"'s cinematography and sound design are objectively better than whatever "The Leftovers" has to offer.
@@reynam2576 religion was the point. To say it had too much or wasn’t subtle is like saying game of thrones was too reminiscent of the European civil war or the walking dead was too much about “humans being the real danger” If the study of religion or loss there of isn’t your thing thats completely fine… but the show literally had religious consultants to discuss said topics. I disagree strongly with most of your other “objective fact” but will leave it at “to each their own”
@@Heroasaurus I could talk to you all day, all night about this. Eventually, you'll see that I'm right about "Lost" being better but yes, to each their own. If you could just rewatch "Lost" real quick and get back to me, that would be great. I'll rewatch "The Leftovers" and see if it's still boring.
people should no longer be referencing these go nowhere shows with Lost anymore. at the very least, Lost was actually a pretty good show. the new reference should be Manifest. and although this show is kinda interesting, it is very much going in the same direction as Manifest, which is nowhere. any show that reveals nothing after 2 full seasons doesnt deserve to exist at all, much less be hand-gifted a 3rd. but people who watch tv are simpletons so, hence the success of go nowhere shows like this. you will all fangirl all over this show until the very end knowing full well it will disappoint you. when AI eventually takes over Hollywood, none of you fangirls will even notice
You can skip season 2 and won't miss anything important lol huge downfall from s1. S3 is average so far. But becoming more and more like Lost: bunch of random stuff to create mystery, theories and speculation and after 2 years and 25 episodes, ZERO answers about anything so far. So, if you enjoyed Lost, you'll be glad to watch this. Not my case 😂

FROM is reverse LOST. In LOST they were on an island with a "light" in the center which only the chosen could find. In FROM there's a darkness in the center which only the chosen can see. More or less.
I think “The Leftovers” did an amazing job. The second season is my favorite season of tv ever. Most of the public never watched it but I think it was a better lost though less action oriented. That being said… i love lost and also fear they ask more questions than they care to answer.
Over the past 2 or 3 weeks I keep hearing about a show called "Lost." I've never heard of it before, then all of a sudden I can't stop hearing about it. "Failure," though, is not the word I keep hearing associated with it. I keep hearing that it's good. I almost want to check it out. But if, as you claim, that the show is generally regarded as a failure, I'll just pass. I've been watching From since it came out. Harold Perrineau claims that the show exists only because the writers sold the ending. None of the actors know how From will end, but if pitching only the ending gave them the greenlight, I feel like we won't be disappointed.
I called Lost a failure in this video to simplify my argument. But if I’m being honest, my personal opinion changes constantly. Aa for what you’ve heard, for many years after it ended, the finale was widely hated. But more recently there’s been a big push to reevaluate it and say that it was good, actually. I do think that Lost is worth watching, overall, as long as you go in knowing that the story isn’t going to neatly tie up every loose thread.
@BigBlueBackpack Now that I think about it, I don't actually remember anyone speaking good or bad about Lost. I think that because I keep hearing that title over the past few weeks, I assumed that it must have been good. So many people have seen a show whose title I've never heard even once before the beginning of this month. I think I'll just keep enjoying From, though.
Lost but good? I’m watching the series and I’m hooked, but compare it to Lost is almost a delusion. Different level of acting, direction, production. Let’s get entertained and enjoy From, but no need for blasphemies :D
The show is similar to Lost, but still hold its own taste. However, its not as good as Lost. They throw in a lot of new concepts to "get ya" but the concepts are... forgotten lol. Its more boring and slow paced than Lost too. That being said... its still a decent show to watch.
The show is amazing but I would not say it is that buried. It is on HBO Max (all seasons with season 3 episodes coming every week) and Netflix (only season 1).
It's exactly lost. Every season there are more questions than answers and I've had about as much as I can take. They are all gonna end up dead in the end or some other dumb ass explanation.
I just finished Lost a month ago. It was an incredible show I still think it’s one of the best shows of all time due to all those mind boggling plot twists but the final season lost me no pun intended. I have zero expectations and I do not believe it will end in a satisfactory way. Still watching tough, mostly because it's funny to see how their behavior 80% of the time is the exact opposite of the obvious course of action they should follow. 😂
I don't know, man, the final two episodes of this season are called Revelations Chapter 1 and 2; I believe some mysteries will be finally unraveled.
@@Usernameisavailabe I hope you're right!
as long has they are not ending the show with like "it what you want it to be" ....
The real answers were the friends we made along the way.
Most aggravating show ever made 3 seasons in and I have no fukin idea what's going on
I don't think one Answer has been given to the of thousands of questions posed
What the hell is that place?
Why are the people there?
who are these people?
what is the evil Entity getting from all this?
Is it an evil entity or something else?
who the hell knows because nobody's getting any fukin answers
We had one answer (spoilers): Is it possible to leave the Town? Obviously it only created more questions.
I agree that we are not getting answers but we are getting close to something especially in this season and people starting actually work together
Yeah, agree - this is very close to Lost in terms of quality and style. They could easily screw it up though (I haven't watched any of S3 yet...)
Yes. anytime they do a show that requires "8 seasons" (a quote form the directors who were being interviewed), that also makes too many people ask too many questions over too much time, they will most assuredly screw it up.
This show is absolutely phenomenal and thrilling and brutal i love it
Teacup also has me on edge too. Don't know what the hell is happening but I think they will at least guide us to answers before creating more questions. Seems more straightforward.😅
There were no mistakes in LOST. Best show ever.
I loved Lost even though I still have questions. Can you do an overall review of the series?
I did that as one of my first videos. It’s rough, but it’s there if you want it.

Severance is also good. It is just 1 season for now. But season 2 in January. Really hoping the mystery keeps ramping up there too with some creepy moments.

@BigBlueBackpack nicee. Sorry this was your first vid that popped up for me :D. Excited to see your takes on severance now :).
In Spain, From is on Prime Video
LOST, Fringe, Under the Dome, Westworld, Walking Dead, even Game of Thrones, are all puzzle box shows that had no satisfying payoff. In fact, can someone suggest a puzzle box show that is actually good throughout the entire series?
Dark, and Gravity Falls
@@BigBlueBackpack The Disney Cartoon?
@poeticyy yep. It’s really the gold standard for this kind of thing
Attack on titan
This is a show based on cliff hangers
Jade is my fav too
From budget seems like it dropped with season 2 and 3. Could be because of the new owners, or maybe ratings aren't as good as they could be. So, it's possible the show gets cancelled before they resolve it.
they need to stream it on more popular streaming sites
Yes someone else gets the urgency as much as i do about FROM being cancelled before its time 😅
I’m commenting just to get as many new viewers to this show as possible … Time to scroll through all the comments and thumb up the good ones. Algorithm shit.
I still watch Season 3 on Prime.
I think “The Leftovers” did an amazing job. The second season is my favorite season of tv ever.
Most of the public never watched it but I think it was a better lost though less action oriented.
@Heroasaurus I hope you're kidding
@@reynam2576 why should I be kidding. If you disagree thats fine but say why otherwise it’s an unproductive statement.
To say it had too much or wasn’t subtle is like saying game of thrones was too reminiscent of the European civil war or the walking dead was too much about “humans being the real danger”
If the study of religion or loss there of isn’t your thing thats completely fine… but the show literally had religious consultants to discuss said topics.
Can you recommend some mystery box shows or movies.

In Portugal its on HBO Max
It is impossible to google.
people should no longer be referencing these go nowhere shows with Lost anymore. at the very least, Lost was actually a pretty good show. the new reference should be Manifest. and although this show is kinda interesting, it is very much going in the same direction as Manifest, which is nowhere. any show that reveals nothing after 2 full seasons doesnt deserve to exist at all, much less be hand-gifted a 3rd. but people who watch tv are simpletons so, hence the success of go nowhere shows like this. you will all fangirl all over this show until the very end knowing full well it will disappoint you. when AI eventually takes over Hollywood, none of you fangirls will even notice
Second. I haven’t seen all of season 2/3, but it seems ok. Hopefully it goes well
You can skip season 2 and won't miss anything important lol huge downfall from s1. S3 is average so far. But becoming more and more like Lost: bunch of random stuff to create mystery, theories and speculation and after 2 years and 25 episodes, ZERO answers about anything so far.
So, if you enjoyed Lost, you'll be glad to watch this. Not my case 😂
Watch when u get to 3 your to be sick of people not telling each other nothing for no real reason at all
@Henrique.Souza0601 pretty much every ep is a cliff hanger when people finally talk they gaslight and act like your crazy
😂😂😂 spot on!
How can you repeat mistakes of Lost when Lost made no mistakes?
L take
Top show ❤
FROM is reverse LOST. In LOST they were on an island with a "light" in the center which only the chosen could find. In FROM there's a darkness in the center which only the chosen can see. More or less.
I watched FROM and I love it. But now Im waiting for new episodes and I was wondering if there are any "similar" shows (pls recommend)

I haven't been this invested in a show for years, I love From, best show running at the moment.
Great video! Hey quick question... If you love both From and Lost what would be the best show you would reccommend a person to watch too?
Get back to me on that when From is over.
Love this show!
I think “The Leftovers” did an amazing job. The second season is my favorite season of tv ever.
Most of the public never watched it but I think it was a better lost though less action oriented.
That being said… i love lost and also fear they ask more questions than they care to answer.
@@msdmckay ok…
For sure, the reveal will be a disaster.
This show is fucking amazing
this is the best show ever
From is a fantastic show. I'm thinking please don't be another LOST or The Walking Dead.
It's doing worse than Lost. Lost did answer many of its questions while From hasn't answered ANYTHING...
Just too many questions from this series man… last episode ending was annoying tbh with Tabathas dream..
Lost is perfect
It's exactly lost. Every season there are more questions than answers and I've had about as much as I can take. They are all gonna end up dead in the end or some other dumb ass explanation.
I just finished Lost a month ago. It was an incredible show I still think it’s one of the best shows of all time due to all those mind boggling plot twists but the final season lost me no pun intended. They had a ton of mysteries and their answers for them werent the best. I hope From learned from their mistakes
