I have to tell you that this was the first video of yours that i watched, and I put it on as i was going to bed. Now what you need to know about that situation is that I tend to listen to videos in my bed from my PC located in my livingroom. So I could not see my screen or read anything about your video, furthermore, I had never heard of no tomorrows. I had just gotten it in my recommended section so many times that I thought... Why not. I cannot tell you how bizarre it is to listen to when you have never read or even considered the genre of speculative evolution. I could not figure out for the life of me if I was listening to someone's personal dnd lore bible or what. I think it was the bizarre nature of that experience that got me hooked, cos all i was thinking about was "wow, this is so wildly creative" without thinking about it as anything other than a bunch of interesting ideas strung together by some guy with a youtube channel. anyway, all that to say that i really appreciate this video and your channel! and im listening through the other audiobooks too
I like how this shows how the post humans evolve, I always thought it was weird how the colonials evolved into the modulars but when you show the full time line, it makes a lot more sense
Wait a freaking second. A modular army of 23,000 making up a rectangle the size of 5280×5280×2640 feet... Wouldn't that make them IMPOSSIBLY huge to start with? Like bigger than SKYSCRAPERS?
This was very enjoyable and interesting to watch. My only gripe is what the hell were the Qu doing for those millions of years?! They left to do what? Then came back no seemingly no more advanced and had no idea their creations would be prepared for them? Oh well. Still a great story and thank you for the entertainment.
Part of me wonders if The Qu specifically and purposely hunted down and dominated any civilization that had discovered and utilized Genetic Manipulation. It reminds me of, oddly, World of Warcraft lore. Long story short, there is a cosmic demonic force in the lore that invades and destroys any world that uses Arcane Magic. Arcane Magic would be playing a similar role in the World of Warcraft universe as Genetic Manipulation in All Tomorrows.
Thanks to you i've come to know and read this amazing book you present to us, thank you for the work and the effort you put in these videos ( Your voice is very calming ). Is there an update on the Revelation series tho?
when i "work" on stuff i like to listen such long videos and youtube gave me this story many times but so far your way of telling it is the easiest to grasp
I like that the predator and prey have swapped attributes of animals in our planet. Like the predators have horns whereas a great amount of herbivores, prey, have the horns to defend, then the prey have manes like a lion would. Makes me wonder if the prey were really more deadly than given credit for.
This makes me feel depressed.. Just so much death and sorrow, suffering. The entirety of the video, I keep thinking about us, humans, and then the now (in the video) of what became of us, how we became abominations :( the art style captures the theme of these horrers so well
This story makes me profoundly sad. Imagine what the Star people could have achieved if left to their own devices. Imagine what wonders humanity could have had as its legacy. Now imagine some bugs with a god complex and unreasonably extreme levels of skill in genetic manipulation rocking up and deciding a whole planet deserves to be a sewage filter
And yet think about the happy times shared by the various human descended species. There were literal hundreds of millions of years for these people to live, make friendships, form loving relationships, eat, dance, sing, philosophize, all the things humans do. Even in the darkest of times, humanity creates joy in small pockets.
@TheTdw2000 and on top of that, even this story filled with half a billion years of interspersed suffering, it still has a happy ending with us continuing on (and even if we didn't, we're all descendents of this universe no matter what species you are). All goes around and around, and it's completely unknown if there was ever an "actual beginning" or if there will ever be a true end. Big Bang or Heat Death be damned; fight me science nerds.
I imagine the face the first Asteromorph did when it came face to face with the Qu for 150 million years ago, all the horror and terror that must've passed through its highly advanced mind, all the genetic manipulation, humilation, descent into mere animals and millions of years writhing and squirming out an existence, and the fear it might all happen again to them
Plot twist: something similar is what happend in reality and our planet is one of the few survivors left and we'll end up finding that out once we've developed far enough in space travel lol
It's completely different. There is nothing in the three body problem involving genetic engineering, humanity being split into different races, and really the whole plot of all tomorrows. The only thing that is similar is humanity meets aliens, start panicking
1:07:48 - The structure of this “New Empire” bears a resemblance to another sci-fi empire I’ve seen: The “Dominion” in Star Trek, where an overseer species is bred to see their progenitors as gods, and these overseers in turn use other modified beings as dependent laborers and warriors.
i really don't know what this is, but it seriously enthralled me. good job. man, fuck the que, and honestly thanks for that. I have always been a function over form kinda person, and this really made me question some of that.

lmao I was rooting for the Colonials, sucks for sure
Thank you so much for this upload . Truly a great piece of work. Good luck with the next series , Im certain it will be just as good as this was.
we're already at 2955 AD and we're not even out of the first section of the video, i'm going to love this!
I think it was the bizarre nature of that experience that got me hooked, cos all i was thinking about was "wow, this is so wildly creative" without thinking about it as anything other than a bunch of interesting ideas strung together by some guy with a youtube channel.
anyway, all that to say that i really appreciate this video and your channel! and im listening through the other audiobooks too
I like how this shows how the post humans evolve, I always thought it was weird how the colonials evolved into the modulars but when you show the full time line, it makes a lot more sense
seems the point is that the true indomitable human spirit surpasses all set backs no matter how monumental
I love speculative biology and stuff like this. Keep up the hard work
I love how you like all tomorrows so much!! Your videos are so informative and great background audio to listen to while i play games or do homework😊
This was a happy ending the spirit of humanity lives on
The end of the Second Galactic Empire was actually sad as fuck man, fuck them ruin haunters.
Wait a freaking second.
A modular army of 23,000 making up a rectangle the size of 5280×5280×2640 feet...
Wouldn't that make them IMPOSSIBLY huge to start with? Like bigger than SKYSCRAPERS?
Go big or go home, I say.
Each one takes up a little over 3 million cubic feet.
I wish someone came up with a mod where you could play in Stellaris as the Asteromorphs and Amphicephali from All Tomorrow.
So surprised no one never has
It’s fascinating how this entire timeline takes place in the same period it took amphibian life to invent the iPhone
It depresses me
delightful, Great summarize of the all tomorrow universe, a lot to think in a little time, i approve its popularity
Excellent narration, thank you! Such a fascinating bit of science fiction. I love showing it to people =]
Sentience without a soul is abominable.
What is a soul ? How does one examine it ? What are its attributes ?
@@chlorine5795 what he means is free thoughts and self awareness im pretty sure :/
its so annoying how those bastard machines wiped out so many cool variants of human descendants
Rip Killer Folk
Subscribed and u have me interested in a book I’ve never heard about just from this one video ! Amazing video
I think the Qu truly are evolved humans.
You’re telling me after ALL that development and time, the Gravitons just destroy the other species of human just like that? 😭
well they thought they were demons
Thank you for the effort spent making this video
You're welcome, thank you for watching.
this was a real treat! thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind words Tyler!
The Qu evolved quite fast
Oh. Amazing, full vid. Ty mr. Qu
Enjoy, Oscar!

Thanks to you i've come to know and read this amazing book you present to us, thank you for the work and the effort you put in these videos ( Your voice is very calming ). Is there an update on the Revelation series tho?
I'm really glad you enjoyed it. And at the moment there are no plans to continue Revelations.
when i "work" on stuff i like to listen such long videos and youtube gave me this story many times but so far your way of telling it is the easiest to grasp
The Indomitable human spirit triumphed over the QU in the end.
Don’t worry bro I wouldn’t let them do this
Ur my new favorite channel! Thanks for the great content
Welcome!
I like that the predator and prey have swapped attributes of animals in our planet. Like the predators have horns whereas a great amount of herbivores, prey, have the horns to defend, then the prey have manes like a lion would. Makes me wonder if the prey were really more deadly than given credit for.
Interesting
Thank you for this I really appreciate what you’ve done here.
Nice job! I love your retelling of the book!
Best video I've seen in 2023!
That's high praise indeed, thank you Bennett!
Really great video.
You kept the interest we all loved!
Thank you for your hard work.
Humanity really are the typa guys to kill you over this after hundreds of millions of years💀
I imagine the face the first Asteromorph did when it came face to face with the Qu for 150 million years ago, all the horror and terror that must've passed through its highly advanced mind, all the genetic manipulation, humilation, descent into mere animals and millions of years writhing and squirming out an existence, and the fear it might all happen again to them
Plot twist: something similar is what happend in reality and our planet is one of the few survivors left and we'll end up finding that out once we've developed far enough in space travel lol
The story reminds me of the tree body problem story but with millions of years in between stories
The Dominion are probably my favourite Trek antagonist. A true anti-Federation which subjugates and mutilates all others to benefit one "god" race.
i really don't know what this is, but it seriously enthralled me. good job. man, fuck the que, and honestly thanks for that. I have always been a function over form kinda person, and this really made me question some of that.
Ah I never mentioned it in the video, but this relates to an ebook called 'All Tomorrows' by C.M. Kosemen. There are links to both the book and my 2 hour audiobook version in the pinned comment above if you're interested. It's a weird and wild ride, but one you'll be glad you took.
I have to admit, even though this was just a scenario and it was unlikely to happen, it was still quite disturbing.
What a interesting series, i love the last persons story we see, though its short, not like the time though lol
Loved it.
I'm so glad, thank you Oscar.
Absolutely fascinating watch. Loved it.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I have no idea what I stumbled across.
Brilliant 👏. Scotland sends its regards
Hello from England!
@BewareCast hahaha cheers son. Your videos are excellent 👏
This is so awesome! But what the heck happened to the Asteromorphs??? Or the Amphicephali? Someone please tell me!!!
i like the hedonists. such a happy foodie bunch
They kinda freaky doe
“The Starpeople have spent the last ten years working tirelessly on the problem of intergalactic space travel.”
That’s a problem that could take even more than ten years.
We all appreciate what you do.
