Imagine producing a car that is worse for the environment, doesn’t go as far before needing an input of energy, takes much longer to replenish that energy, higher insurance costs, and crashing resale - that’s an EV and democrats call that progress.

Let's pretend AGW doesn't exist and will magically go away if science deniers just ignore it. /s
And I'm FINE with using hybrids while batteries improve. But NOT denying the issue and just whining about EV's with non-issues. Also citing NO sources for claims.

    1. Out here in the western U.S. like Nevada, Utah, Montana, Idaho there are many businesses that are based in the major cities but have regular clients 100+ miles away ( I've worked for a couple where 600mi round trips are common). Even if range wasn't an issue, charging time would be.
    2. All the different chargers are card/app based. Usually unmonitored. There is no way yet to throw a cashier a couple of bucks for a quick charge. With the number of "money harvesters" hanging around parking lots these days, a 20-45 min stay in one spot leaves you vulnerable.
    3. Yes car repairs are expensive for the same reason a dog licks his balls but even more so for EVs. There doesn't seem to be any repair that is under 4 figures for an EV.

The highest cost of car are insurance, car payments, and depreciation.,this doesn't change. A gas powered car can be driven 440 miles on a tank , take 20 minutes to refill drive another 440 miles.

One area Tesla has performed well - design. Those cars are beautiful and well designed. This is a huge part of the mystic and allure. They appeal to the eye. Personally, I wouldn't purchase aTesla due to all reasons you outline in your videos. However, I have to admit I'm moved by the sleek, attractive, timeless designs.

Lucid air is great! For those like me, a large full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make. A more classic dashboard with smooth affects and presentation along with style. The rest of the interior is superbly constructed and arranged to completely provide a very comfortable (travel) experience. Despite the fact that it takes time to charge ofcourse and no not 3 minutes like fueling but, it offers a range of 500 to 516 miles. Unfortunately the Luxurious Lucid air has a starting price of 70K and could cost up to as much as well over 100k. After looking at one of these in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, i damn near fell over when he told me the price. When i asked him, "Why so expensive?" He replied by saying, "Because no one else can compete with us in many areas of electrification." I laughed at him and told him that was inaccurate. I showed him my car and told him. "This is luxurious also. A large full size luxury automobile. No long sitting times for charging, range is 570 miles, and the price? Paid off at 41K. Poor guy didn't know what to say. But let the day come when EVs like the Lucid air becomes available at a price of atleast 50K or less and I'll take one. Otherwise, a very nice EV, very nice!!! But I'll keep my jaguar XJl and leave well enough alone....

LOL - Edmunds article says 48% of EV owners that turn up at a DEALER go back to ICE - almost 80% of exisitng EV owners don't go to a dealer at all and just trade their exisitng EV for a new EV online. Roughly 10% of existing EV owners opt for ICE when they trade up or buy their next car not 50%, that's still way less than the 8% to 10% of new car buyers overall that are switching from ICE to EV - the number of EVs on US roads continues to increase by 800k to 1million cars a year.

Also the EV market has promised so many things yet never seem to fulfill all of them, we have been seeing big increase in charging stations. But then only 80 miles from Seattle don't have to go very far to reach charging wastelands.

Maybe it's different in Australia - I charge my car at home for 8c/kwh ($ AUD overnight EV rate) = 5c/kwh US. I get over 500km range / 310miles from $2.85 US of electricity, less than 1c per mile.
My insurance is less than my previous ICE car, the tires have 40k km / 25k miles and look like they're 1/2 way done (I would have a new set on my previous ICE car by now), after 18months my battery has degraded 2%, 1.8% of that was in the first 9 months only 0.2% since.
I save around $7k-$8k USD per year vs my previous ICE car when I add fuel, services, brakes, tires and add back the additional tax breaks from salary packaging (I also packed by previous car).
I drive a 1200 mile round trip Sydney-Melbourne-Sydney semi regularly and even on that trip with 40c/kwh (US) supercharger costs it's faster and cheaper in my EV than previousl ICE car (Audi A4).

Beeing in Europe, gas cars are really useless nowadays. There are fast chargers everywhere. EV are much better than gas car : less expensive, more efficient, much less noisy, much more responsive whitout any lag time, more robust, etc.., I am switching all my gas cars to EV without any regret and the contrary. Each Time I drive an EV, I am so pleased to drive a silent rocket that cost 3-4 times less in daily use than a gas car. My remaining gas far is only a collectible car. None of my EV cars is a Tesla.

I had a Tesla Model 3 performance for a 3 year lease and it was a neat car and I was able to charge for free at my office but we always took my wife's SUV on trips so we wouldn't have to hassle with finding charging stations.
I went back to ICE getting a BMW X3M competition and above all else, the X3 is FUN. Loud exhaust, fast shifting transmission, whoosing sounds from the turbos spooling up and the sound of the blow off valves... it's exciting. There's drama and fun to the experience... personality and character. The Tesla has none of that. Sure it's fast in a straight line up to around 80 or 90mph but that's about it and that party trick wears off quickly.
Even more hilarious is how much better the tech is in the BMW. Lane keep assist is better, there's car play, 3D cameras for parking, better seats, better interior, significantly better quality paint (per the detail shop who did ceramic and ppf on both cars), etc. Also, being able to actually pick up the phone and call the dealer and speak to a human shouldn't be noteworthy but if you've owned a Tesla, you know that experience is nearly impossible to have with that company.
