The “what if the moment is right now” is layered in the studio version. Live Namjoon does it. In the studio version if you listen to stripped down versions it’s Namjoon, a high JK vocal & a low JK vocal combined. BTS does a lot of layering of vocals in their songs. They layer Jungkook’s voice a ton with other members (including himself) as a harmony & sometimes for depth. Sometimes it’s hard to detect unless you hear the stripped down versions. Jungkook has some ridiculous background vocals in On that I never even noticed until they were stripped out. There is no telling how much time he spends in the recording studio for their albums. J-Hope also does more background & chorus vocals than a lot of people realize. He probably does the most after Jungkook. I’ve already recommended it to you several times but you can really see it in the videos DJ Swivel posted of Euphoria & Magic Shop (he produced both). He completely breaks out the layers in both.
No one will ever compare to BTS to me! They are flawless💜 I discovered them many years before but remember their debut of Dynamite during the pandemic! They sure brought us the JOY during hard times!!! Such a banger!!!
I absolutely love all of these songs, but I hold a special place in my heart when I hear Stay Gold. To me, the song symbolizes that no matter comes your way, have faith, stay humble, and are determined to break through. Even though the song is one of BTS's underrated Japanese songs, I wish it could get more recognition by all ARMYs. 💜
They are like Beethoven, every instrument has a unique sound and when you have a great composer that’s blend all the notes in magical harmony, then you will get BANGTAN . I find them a Unique combination. 💜💜💜💜💜
"Dynamite" was the song that broke the merch bank for my granddaughter. She had been ARMY for years but when that hit I couldn't find enough merch for her birthday and Christmas, everything down to her socks said "Dynamite". Good memories. Stay Well and Be Happy!!

I'm 'kind of' a Dynamite Army. Dynamite was the first BTS, or even KPop, song I'd ever heard. I found it catchy, but didn't dive into the rabbit hole right away. I didn't even know there was a rabbit hole to dive into! Then a week or so later, a YTchannel I watch were checking out "the 10 best BTS songs". The thing was, they only played very short clips of each song so I still wasn't sure what they sounded like. I jotted down the names of all 10 songs to look up after, just out of curiosity. I remember, while making the list, that all the songs that piqued my interest had 4 letters: Fire, Dope, and Idol! Well, I watched all 10 videos, in between trying to figure out how many members there were, what their names were, how old they were... And here I am almost 3 years later.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
My sons showed me dynamite on youtube when it came out in 2020, and I was hooked. Every time they hear that song now, they say , ohh mom we should never have showed you that song🙂 I fell down the rabbit hole 💜

I found BTS after a recommendation from a booktuber I watch. And with the search, Dynamite popped up, and I haven't looked back since. So glad I found BTS!! Love watching YT when people react for the first time and fall in love. it's like reliving it:)
You're right about the BU in Stay Gold. There are a lot of hints in there and happy moments from sad elements in the BU in the past. The first MV with the BU storyline is 'I need you' and from memory 'Film Out' is the last with the BU. The running theme of them being depressed/having endless problems alone and then happy and great together is the BU too. The idea of a whole other alternate universe in which they weren't together and BTS. It is a massive rabbit hole in itself... I think that's what you should do next!!
A lot of ppl don't like a lot of processing on vocals... I really LOVED the effect on Black Swan, because to me, the distortion plus the harp in the background (which I think is ALSO distorted) really lends to that feeling of music going subtly wrong... a music box running down, a record warping.
True to BTS, it was a brave song to write, both for the emotions it expressed and its departure from their "usual" sound. It hit especially hard in 2020, when I think a LOT of us were questioning the place of our work and our careers in our feelings of self-worth.
Ok…so my girls have been BTS fans for years and I never really listened to any of their music until two months ago. Now w can’t stop listening to them!! They are phenomenal!! I hate that I missed out all those years!! I LOVE every song I’ve heard!!! 😢❤
I'm Dynamite era army but I wasn't actually a fan of this song. My now 8yr old loved it though so I would put it on for her and discovered Black Swan and Blood Sweat and Tears. I fell in love and fell down that rabbit hole real quick.
BTS got ahold of for blood, sweat and tears. It has been a rollercoaster since. Most important is they were there when I got my terrible diagnosis. They are the reason I am still fighting. They are angels, in more ways than one.
I am bonafide Dynamite era Army! I knew about them, didn’t really pay the much attention, liked Boy With Luv, but hearing and seeing Dynamite for the very first time sealed the deal. It was such a happy joyous song that made me smile without fail in a time of uncertainty. Realized what silly, lovely souls they were through their content and have resided in the Magic Shop ever since 💜

Yup. Dynamite era ARMY here 🙋♀️💜🤭. In 2020 I saw / heard BTS through the Samsung commercial on TV. Dynamite was playing in the background. The song was so good, that i opend "Shazam" to see who the heck that is!. And then i streamed it on youtube on repeat. I instantly fell in love. And since then, i'm an Army. Gosh, i love these gorgeous guys so much 💜.

My first was Black Swan live at James Cordens Late Night Show, and I was like: "WHAT? THIS is what they call K-Pop???" I love contemporary dance, so this hooked me up and I wanted to know more...
I had a lot of time for research soon enough as the pandemy started.. their World Tour would have brought them to Germany and I was looking forward trying to get tickets (little did I know that this is a tough battle 😂), the depression was real when everything was cancelled 😢.
I then loved to experience my first "comeback" with Stay Gold and then Dynamite, unfortunatly I couldnt hook up my friends (their loss 🤗).
The rest is history 😎💜

I love your reaction videos! For me, Dynamite was definitely when I became Army, but I had seen them before. I came across a video of them dancing to different genres of music and wondered who they were, but I wasn't ready for what they had to offer. Then I saw them on The Late Show with James Cordon for a sidewalk concert, which once again piqued my interest, but I still wasn't ready. What got me started going down the BTS rabbit hole was their Carpool Karaoke episode. There was no looking back after that.

I don't quite consider myself a Dynamite ARMY because I didn't hit the rabbit hole until about a month later. I'd heard the band name in 2019 but I don't think I could've named any song they did at that point. 2019/20 New Year's was the first time I saw them perform on TV, and I was intrigued by the way Jimin handled his wardrobe malfunction, but I didn't really look into them further at that point.
I heard Dynamite on the radio (!) when it came out, and was vaguely aware that it was by that huge Korean boy band, but if anything I was a little allergic to anything that had "boy band" on it at the time. It wasn't until a Try Guys video in September that they really grabbed me and pulled me under (Honestly, I *just* wanted to know their names...)
Dynamite was my introduction to BTS but fell in love after watching James Corden carpool karaoke. ARMY for life!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Thanks John for great content!

I'm a Dynamite era ARMY! It was the first BTS song/video for me, but I didn't become an ARMY until the boys charmed me during Carpool Karaoke a few days later. It was there I heard pieces of "On" and was intrigued. Looked up the video for that, and the rest is history! I love how complex the sound of their songs often is. There are so many changes and so much going on in the background. Many of their songs were an aquired taste for me, almost like my ears had to learn how to hear them. But even songs I didn't think I liked at first, I absolutely love now! 💜

11:15 STAY GOLD isn't part of the BU (at least, not officially)... yes, that IS a regular theme in their videos, that they're never as happy apart as they are together. But I think you also need to remember context. This premiered June 2020-- the middle of lockdown. This shows them all alone in small, tight, dreary, indoor spaces (like we ALL were...), and then, when they come together and get out into open air, things are beautiful and happy. To me, STAY GOLD is like the end of SPRING DAY... a reminder that no matter how cold the winter, how dark the night, spring and dawn WILL come again. It's call not to give in to despair.

I heard of BTS and knew they were a K-Pop group, but I never really heard any of their songs before Dynamite. As a preschool teacher I play a lot of Kidz Bop in my classroom. Kidz Bop version of Dynamite always played, but I didn’t know the original artist. So I’m driving home from work and the original song played. I looked at the console and it said the artist was BTS. I couldn’t believe it was the K-Pop group. As soon as I got home I looked up the Dynamite MV… and I kept going. I started down the rabbit hole that day. Everyday I couldn’t wait to get home and find more BTS content.
Yup, Dynamite introduced me to them! I was just scanning through the radio and happened to catch it midway through. I was one of those "Eh, BTS is a k-pop boyband, no thanks" people, sadly, until I looked the song up and realized it was them. Told myself the fated words of "I just want to learn their names." Cue the rabbit hole that is BTS content and I fell in love with them. Didn't really consider myself ARMY, just a fan of their music, until they released the We Are Bulletproof: Eternal music video and I cried like a baby. Knew I had discovered something special then.

I am a Dynamite era ARMY 😅. This song was playing on the radio all the time and I loved it. Every time I was driving and that song was played there was a party with my children in the car 😜🤣🤣, so I had to find out who they were and I search for it ... that was it, not coming back 😜🤣. Afterwards I realised that I heard 'Boy with luv' before and I liked that song at the time, but I never went into deep search for it. Things happen when they have to happen 🤷🏻♀️

I did know about BTS years earlier. I had heard parts from Fire and Dope, but those songs didn't pique my interest. Years later life was hard. I was reading news about Grammy and BTS-Dynamite was mentioned. I listened Dynamite and it gave me hope. Then I wanted to know who these amazingly talented ppl are so I started wathing interviews and runBTS etc. That's how I got into this rabbit hole. 😂 Army says "You find BTS when you need them most" or something like that and it's so true! They made me laugh in one of the most darkest time of my life. In a way BTS saved me. 💜

Oooh real quick on the better together thing. I think it's more to do with being in your own head, being selfcentered and isolating yourself is a dark way to live,but surrounding yourself with good people, inturn makes your life brighter, more positive. Stay gold, gold is looked as good and great, but it's also precious rare bright and beautiful to behold.
I met them through Dynamite! They were guest performers in the 2020 AGT semifinals. Retro clothes, an amusement park setting, some fireworks, and each one projecting his distinctive personality and charm. In order of appearance, here are my first impressions:
#1: The golden child. Naturally the center of attention. Talented and mischievous. Probably youngest and they dote on him.
#2: And here we have Daddy! Wow! Deeper voice, husky build. Up on the gas station roof, he's definitely the man in charge.
#3: Such a live wire! Kinda funky and fun. What is he wearing? Are leather shirts a thing? He's fashion forward.
#4: The cute blond with the sweetest voice. What a dancer! And what a flirt. Yeah, nobody had to teach you how to flirt.
#5: The cool cat who wears classic suits and ties. Striking good looks. Green is his color. And that voice .. must be baritone!
#6: Well, he's confident. But that 2nd is still the leader. This guy is an artist. Or a director! That's it! Artistic Director.
#7: Hello! Finally you get a turn. Good strong voice! I see humor in those eyes. I feel there is more about you...

I was part of dynamite army draft. It was such a cool catchy song, that I became interested in what else they had, what is the hype really about, I'd heard of them before that but was too far in my pop punk/ Celtic metal era to think about some pop band. Thankfully I thought ok there has to be more to it, and started to listen and research songs and lyrics. Admit that fake love, drew me in a bit, but mic drop sealed the deal, especially when I found the story behind it.

Hi John. I've enjoyed your videos for a while. Regarding your question about why it's a recurring theme in videos that BTS members on their own is dark and depressing, I believe it's because BTS prioritizes team first. They are happiest together and they attribute their astronomical success to not only ARMY but their ability to support each other positively and to work cohesively as a team. Everyone has their unique charms, personalities, talents, etc. and at its core imo BTS is beloved because of their amazing relationship with each other. We each have our individual talents & value but it takes a team & community to truly create a successful product and impact change.
I'm a Proof-era army. I was aware of Dynamite, Butter, and PTD, but didn't dive into BTS until early 2022 when my girlfriend told me I'd like them. Got so attached so quick lol

Hi I am back. Good reaction, ty. I am glad BTS helped u grow. This one has beautiful deep meaning of their lyrics. As you notice like lines " It would be my first death. That's what I'm afraid of ." It has that emotional theme of an artist fear for losing their passion for what they do. With this song BTS dives deep into their inner selves as artists and faces the shadows they had once hidden. The song lends voice to their fears that one day music will no longer be able to move or touch them. The very moment they come face to face with the ‘Black Swan’ within themselves, however, they are stricken with a paradoxical realization that music is all they have. It is a confession of an artist who has truly learned what music means to himself. It's also inspired from Martha Graham, who said “A dancer dies twice once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.” Now with the band on a break from group work and focusing more on solo projects (solo albums). Black Swan: Mainly written by RM, the one you like, is about their fears of losing all passion for music, either writing it or performing on stage. It's also based on a quote by Martha Graham who was an important figure in the world of modern dance, "A dancer dies twice. Once when they stop dancing and this death is more painful." They've been doing this for a long time now and for some of them it's all they've ever done from a young age but realized music is their life.

Fun fact: Before BTS began doing it, it wasn't normal at all for Korean idol groups to release songs with deeper meanings, discuss serious topics in their songs, acknowledge issues of vulnerability like burnout, depression or mental illness. It wasn't normal for idols to open up about their personal troubles at all. In fact, doing so got some idols thrown out of their companies. It was also not normal or common to have a running storyline/theme that is carried through multiple albums and/or MVs and songs. But BTS did it all so successfully, and broke those stigmas, to the point that now many other Korean idol groups have started trying to do those things, with varying degrees of sincerity and success.
This song, its lyrics and MV are part of the "Shadow" portion of BTS's Map of the Soul era, in which they released albums and songs based on Carl Jung's theories regarding the Persona, Shadow, and Ego. This track is an exploration of their "shadow" selves' fear that they may someday lose their passion for their art - they ask if perhaps they are already losing it- and they wonder what comes after that "first death" of the loss of passion. In the end, they continue to fight for their passion and their art, claiming they won't be swept away by these fears again. I would encourage you to think about how counter-cultural BTS is being in songs like this: Not only are they dealing with topics that were taboo only a few years ago, but they're being unbelievably personally vulnerable, sincere and open. This is why we love them so much, and I'm sure you will, too! 💜

Good reaction(Stay Gold), ty. Stay Gold (Japanese song) was their 1st covid connected song. It was made for us to keep hope alive and stay positive. They sweet our guys aren't they. They actually record all their songs into Japanese. So all their Korean CDs have a Japanese counterpart as a CD. RM is fluent in Japanese. Dynamite was a Summer hit yep. =0] About Dynamite they literally decided to do this song on a whim in the middle of the pandemic because they wanted to cheer people up in such hard times ^^ They're very hardworking, and have spent their careers writing songs about all kinds of things, like all kinds of different kinds of love (they are very adamant about promoting self love) , heartbreak, societal issues, mental health, following your dreams, helping others, and just a lot of cool stuff that's important to them, and things a lot of people are afraid to touch on, that they will dive head first into. They're also all very down to earth, and very funny. ^^ Dynamite was actually BTS's first full Eng song! Now they have 3 in all. Butter and Permission to Dance. Dynamite got them their 1st Billboard #1! Now they have had more than 3 of them. Kings! This song was written by 2 American songwriters who have written for Jonas brothers and other popular groups. And they liked it and sung it in Eng because they loved that version more. Dynamite was created to give Army some energy during the pandemic. BTS is all about that positive energy. The guys did not know the song would blow up actually.
