@@chrispaul1117you have to make sure at least 1 foot has contact with the ground while making contact with the ball on a serve or it is illegal

So... Totally agree with serve placement affecting 3rd shot. I'm not sure why people aren't approaching Pb serve more like pitching. Not sure I totally agree with your specific placement recommendations though. If someone hits me a wide angle serve to the backhand, it's natural for me to hit angle back instead of redirecting it. This would lead to a wide backhand 3rd (actually my favorite placement as a returner). Hitting down the t reduces angle so makes it hard for opponent to generate their own angle. As a result, I can almost alway run around any return for my 3rd when I mash it down the t.

Those tips on serves are for players who can actually put the ball where they aim it. I'm happy just to get it over the net and not long.

Great info and kudos to your video quality and, especially, the sound.
Your discussion about midcourt tactics was well received. I, like a lot of people, often try to rush things and end up popping up.

His serve is so good because of his height… his angle of departure is easier and follows a downward path…a person 5’6” would have a harder time….

Interesting tip to keep a firm grip in the transition zone. First time hearing that.

The serve: A lot of assumptions are made here about your opponents position.

Watch the whole video - they address that topic in detail, fairly early.
