Vincent D'onofrio has said that when he read the script for Daredevil about Kingpin, he wrote down two words that would be his guide on Kingpin, Monster and Child. Alaqua Cox just crushes this and is a damn impressive actress. I have seen people saying she isnt expressive enough, to which I have to say, are you blind? She is barely constrained rage through most of this season all the way up until the last episode. Love the reaction Jess, hope youre feeling better.
I think lots of people confuse overacting with good acting. Her character has been brought up to not be overly expressive, but her anger is always threatening to boil over.
I've seen many many reasons people try to explain why they didn't like this series, and those contacts come up a lot. Those contacts (according to them) is one step too far into the realm of suspension of disbelief when it comes to technological advances. Take a moment to really consider all the Earth-based technology used throughout the MCU and then compare that to those contacts Wilson puts in Maya. Some people man, I tells ya.
Yeah, that tech is more or less on par with other tech you can get in the MCU when you have the connections and\or the money. (And Fisk definitely has both) . Speaking of that, I'm honestly a bit surprised that the consumer tech in the MCU is basically the same as we have instead of say smart phones with hologram displays. (Like those hand terminals in the Expanse),
I recognize that yes, given you are under the weather, your loquacity in the last reaction perhaps would exacerbate things, scratchy throat-wise. Still, you do have a lot to say, and I enjoy listening to your wonderful insights, Jess, and your insights in this episode, and the series as a whole have been most splendid.
Thanks for working through the sore throat!! I really did like this whole series, but I think having Kingpin messed up many people's perspectives. For me, the story was always about Maya and her family and ancestors; lots of people expected Fisk to be the co-lead, but it's not his story. I love(?) the callback of the hallways already lined in plastic, like what we saw in Daredevil Season 3 (RIP Bullseye's love interest).
@@Zomdra The whole, "You shot me, destroyed my arsenal so lets have a snack while I offer you my empire." Nothing about the scene felt true to the characters or plot at that point. It really took me out of the story.

What makes Fisk so compelling to me is that he genuinely loves Maya but his love IS SO SCARY.
FYI -- the final episode has a post-credit scene.
When I thought Kinpin couldn't be scarier or more psychotic, episode 4 dropped hahahahaha.

The acting was superb but it doesnt make the unbelievable believable.
What did you find unbelievable?
If believability is a concern, then superhero projects are not for you.

I'm so sorry you're watching this trash. See you on the next Doctor Who review.
Don't project, _she_ likes the show even if you don't, which makes your "apology" just come across as obnoxious.
Edgelords gonna edge.
