Absolutely do the roof. The floor need either dynaliner or focal BAMM you need a foam layer to help seal road noise. Also concentrate on wheel arches. Large flat areas are critical too. Also with SRS disconnect battery. Then tap brake to drain and residual current. Remember you have amps with caps. They’ll hold current. Then remove seat. As for the warning, double check the passenger loom they are notorious for not connecting fully. Also did you disconnect the pretensioners on the pillar? The audio was good.
I wish you were in Toronto Canada. Great video, thank you.

1:28 interesting working position of your colleague :-D I have Subaru too... Levorg MY2017,Forester MY2008 and WRX MY2005 and last year i was sell Impreza diesel MY2011. Did myself tuning of car audio in Forester with helpfull tips from your videos. Thx! I´m autoelectrician too, i do auxiliary heaters for cars and trucks in Czech Republic.
I definitely agree with Grant. Do the roof. It’s just flimsy sheet metal with some braces. Roofs are especially important on wagons SUVs and vans. Also, the mic itself doesnt sound awful but that rattling kills it. If they sell it in NZ maybe get some of that rubbery stuff used to hang posters without putting holes in the wall and put it between the mic and the mount
Kenneth Blackburn yes the roof is a huge resonator for sure. It really all depends on how the headliner is attached. If it's easy enough to take out and put back in most definitely. 👍
i never ever disconnect battery.. you can unplug airbags with battery connected, just don't turn on ignition. and capacitors store voltage, thats how there is voltage lingering around after the battery is disconnected :) if it were me, i would finish the floor.. it would drive me nuts to not completely have it finished.. then down the road when i got the funds, i would finish the roof.. enjoy the videos, keep it up buddy
The mic 🎤 sounds fine when you aren't moving it. And my opinion is it actually sounded a little better facing away maybe you didn't hold it as far away as you did while in selfie mode. Did you pick up a dead cat for the new mic? Even though you are inside you might get some noise when moving. I desperately need a good shotgun mic and dead cat. I'll get one when I'm home next which probably won't be till mid to late November.
Your welcome buddy 😊😊 love your stuff!! Keep it up! And good detailed explanation. P.s. if you have some free time pls hit me up i want to do spunds in my car and not to sure what i should go with

Clint L yeah i say do the roof also its a lot of surface area that is just flexing.
The roof only helps with wind and weather (rain) noise song with heat retention. Wheel arches is the most effective for tire noise
Ty for doing this. I am going to do my floor, doors, and back. I have a 14 outback... US. Your video was very helpful. Ty. Oh.. The mic was fine.
I wish you were in Toronto Canada.

In principal the audio is pretty good, except maybe for the klick noise when you're moving it around.
bathurst always a good watch
Up the mighty HOLDENS!!
Audio sounds better other than the rattle from the shotgun mike. Maybe that needs some sound deadening material! /s
Doball the floor now that you got your carpet off and get another pack for the roof for another time you deside to take care of the roof
