    Just finished installing a baseboard heat system with mine, it preforms great as long as your not up against a wall.

      Nice...have any pics? I haven’t try it on baseboard yet...any leaks?

      I think to use propress on soft copper like baseboards you have to use the 3/4 brass insert they sell to reinforce the press. Veiga sells them, otherwise you might have leaks on the connection to the baseboard's thin copper.

    I also started out with a manual tool. Pain in the neck when you are in a deep hole and the water can't be shut off. However from CPO Outlet, I bought a complete Milwaukee Short Throw Press Kit with two batteries, charger, Viega crimp jaws (3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1") and case for a total including shipping of $342.89 on 2/06/20. Oregon buyers pay no sales tax. It works perfectly. There are crimp jaws available for F1807 and F2159 standard fittings. Keep your eyes out for sales.

      i thought the short throw press tool was for pex only. any help?

      @@walterteller4765 Milwaukee has a couple of tools that sometimes it gets confusing but the one you talking about is for pex not copper press and is in the $700 range.

      That is a pex one. The copper press one is closer to 1.5 to 2k for the 3 jaws. If you need a larger set that goes up to 3 or 4, it goes up to 3-4k

    You should have tried with an actual water line to see if you did it right .

    Nice alternative to a battery tool that could be used under water . But I'm not a fan of how the jaws are different & not interchangeable with battery tools

    I bought this press tool, and it's horrible! At first, all the joints seemed fine, but after a while, everything started leaking! It turns out that this press tool didn't crimp the fittings fully.

    • @equamaticheatingair-condit6071
      @equamaticheatingair-condit6071  2 роки тому +3

      Haven’t had any issues with it yet…not using it everyday now. Probably the fittings weren’t crimp 100% or the pipes didn’t go in straight into the fittings. That happened to me one time but it was my fault…didn’t notice the pipe was tilt a little and was also under pressure and that created a small drip after I was done. That was the only issue I had but it wasn’t the tool it was me lol.

      @@equamaticheatingair-condit6071 most likely user error. He probably didn't go until the two metal pieces touch... I see this company has a new one for 150$ that seems to be designed for harder to reach areas. He also might have had defective fittings- what company did you use dragon?

      @@johnspanos3862 I agree with you.. no disrespect to Dragonbuilds… the tool hasn’t given me a problem. Probably bad fittings or user error like what happened to me .

      Due to the handle pumping action you have to be VERY vigilant about keeping the jaws perfectly aligned with the fitting and ALWAYS inspect the fitting afterwards…..do these two things and you should be fine. I’ve seen reviews go both ways. I have one and have had zero issues.

      Still holding on good... the pipe needs to be at least 3” away from the wall for you to be able to clamp on pipe with tool.
