It was the creative directors (Rebecca) birthday the other day and the entire warframe reddit were wishing her happy birthday and she was replying thanking people and saying how much she loves being part of the game. It's so heart warming being part of the community they just love the game.
One of the moments i remember most was when totalbiscuit passed and the warframe team took it so hard and them along with the entire community flooded the public relays to all pay tribute to another member that was important to the community. It felt like everyone was so close and connected to eachother.
@@sewdclass10 I love the game and its community so much and I put so much time into it because of things like that. The players just have love for the game and its world its community its dev team Im never unhappy with warframe Ive replayed so much of the game just helping new people find their feet and experience it because I want to do that in this game.
Flats becoming a warframe player would definitely make my year Edit: flats when they were talking about streaming and playing with the viewers at about 38:30 it's true they really do stream and do all of that with the community ive seen the streams they really do it and it's amazing
@@DeadlyAlphait’s biweekly now i believe, and by biweekly i mean twice a week not once every other week, they do a devshort and a prime time each week but sometimes the prime time is replaced with a bigger devstream. i could be wrong about this as im not certain the devshort is each week but its fairly regularly they do it. and of course they can’t always manage to fit a prime time in each week if they have something big coming up although honestly i couldn’t tell you a time other than tennocon when they don’t do a prime time
@@starchild78 devshorts i believe are definitely once a week... but yeah, prime time's twice a week. I was just saying the fact that they're weekly (once or twice a week) is insane. not aware of any other devs that do that & actually play with the Players

@@reio4641As much as I would agree, im not too sure about that. Lots of Warframe vets try their best to hide the huge secrets behind the game as much as possible. I'd honest to g*d be very dissappointed in the community if they couldn't achieve that unless some random douche tries to ruin it for everyone.
Warframe’s new player experience is not the best, but it is leaps and bounds better than it used to be. In all honesty, streaming the game will smooth many of the cracks in the start of the game because of chat interaction
@@ventus3610 I agree to an extent. A lot of people finish the first quest and are left wondering what now and that’s where their journey ends. The discovery is one of the best things in warframe but also one of its biggest killers.
Even in the most recent update they made a fantastic amount of changes to help the new player experience - and LD made his video a while before that. It's not perfect but DE is constantly adjusting the friction points.
I think people are down playing the new player experience to much, if it was a few years ago that would be true, but right now it's a very decent one compared with with other games of similar genres, look at destiny 2, after the sunset the new player experience became horrible.
closed beta warframe was haha game crash, next time you launch the game you are thrown into the starchart without any explanation, join mission with 3 other people, it's a survival and takes forever to figure out what to do. Man when I tell you it got better...
It's weird how he isn't even glazing Warframe as hard as he could. Some highlights: They were doing some new cosmetic bundles and were asking the audience at their weekly dev stream what they'd think is fair. They offer two different types of premium items: Some items are sold for platinum, the tradeable ingame currency, some are only available directly for cash. Why? The cash items are TennoGen, they're made by community members who get money directly from each sale. DE is an absolute unicorn.
Don't think that's true , at least on console tennogen are also in plat, the only thing that cost only real cash are : prime access and a few bundle and they are pretty much all useless , 90% of the game cost plat and that's awesome
@@Thominouche Console Tennogen costs plat because DE pays the creator a lump sum up front for the ability to sell the item on consoles. This is why Tennogen items purchased on PC can't be used on other platforms via cross-save and vice versa, but (IIRC) Tennogen purchased on one console _can_ be used on another (or on mobile).
@@theelusivethief738You are speaking the truth my guy, I felt worn out in the middle of reaching steel path (higher enemy levels) and now I’m in it nearly every time I play the game
The true endgame of warframe is two main things 1)fashion and the most important one 2) helping new players. When I have nothing to do in warframe I actively look for new players needing/asking for help. I will help them with understanding the systems that they are struggling with, help shift their focus on progression so they can go further while also them being able to farm what they want. It is very rewarding and fun helping others. Sometimes I even gift new players stuff using the premium currency that I farm by selling stuff, I’m not using it for myself most of the time, I don’t mind gifting stuff if it means that someone else can have a better experience.
Im in the same road (sorta), I’m at a point that I can make anything in the game (mr18) and I’m slowing it down and taking my time so I’m not getting burned out. Half the time I just go around and help people with stuff I do daily giving them tips or straight up carrying albeit making sure they learn mechanics. Other times I just gift stuff to people, just recently I gifted 3 beginners a new frame cause they got bored of the one they had and I let them pick which one. (I gifted one dude khora, another one wanted to try Octavia, and lastly as of recently wanted wisp) other times I give prime sets for free. Now I mainly do fashion frame and host fashion contest preferably every month for my clan/alliance
lol i went the evil route of the "endurance-running" endgame got me to quit during steel paths drop because enemy ehp-scaling into long endless runs was obliterated. lmfao haven't played since 2019/2020. although i did tune-in for duviri since that change was right up my alley of endurance runs & the rougelite rng from circuit mattered more than scaling (in terms of fun) during endurance runs there. i also used to give things away tho. Lol lot of vets would always say "don't feed the beggers!" Or "no begging!" in social spaces but i had enough stuff from long runs & also the grind-cycle of trading had lost its fun for me ages ago so im like whyyy nottt. especially to spite the "no begging" stuff or just to help hit the charity goal during tennobaum. warframe lost me but i still recommend it to people 😂 community fun, fashion fun, devs fun. cool game
[42:55] Forma was one of the items that players requested to be easier to acquire. DE actually admitted that they cant change how Forma works in the game for now because a large percent of their income is from it (buying crafted ones and craft time boosting), and players understood it and respected DE's decision. (Formas are used to further upgrade equipment by resetting its level you can craft one every 24 hours)
I was about to write this as well! but also to add how they still made it more rewarding to get formas since if forma is in silver tier on a relic you get two now instead! I just really like how they respond and work around things like that
One of the things the devs did was introduce a limited edition tier of skins *called heirlooms* for cash only (no platinum, straight cash). The community got super upset over it. So DE's response instead of ignoring it was to make those skins/bundles purchasable with the premium currency AND make it permanent so you can get it whenever you want. DE are by far the best Dev's in terms of a live service product in the industry. Edit *added heirlooms*
Actually those Heirlooms skins are no longer obtainable and were only able to be purchased by money during all of their lifespan of being available (kind of a short time), which means they also encouraged FOMO and their price was like nothing else compared to everything in the game. At least the current one does what you say and the next ones will also follow this, but man i do want those 2 heirloom skins specially for Frost who lacks
Bro i saw the video, saw the thumbnail, the title, clicked it, watched 17 seconds, closed it, and only then did my brain process this was flats and not brozime. It was so unexpected to see flats talk about warframe my brain just faltout refused that reality for a bit xd
I use to watch Flats regularly back when I was really into overwatch, getting this in my recommended was like a blast from the past. It's an interesting pairing I would have never thought to see happen.
And every update helps with new player experience in some way, it's getting progressively better and it's extremely noticeable to me as a late game player
@@Novenae_CCG The grind is still kinda the same but alot of improvements to early quests and organizing information better like Categories of quests and the damage types are allocated to factions instead of health types and you can change your Warframe/Weapons/Companions and builds from navigation. Also it recommends damage types so like it will say "Sabotage Grineer, Recommended damage types: Corrosive/Slash" and stuff like that. Also you can upgrade mods in the build screen and in simulacrum. Each update it gets better though
This guys videos made me pick up warframe 2 months ago, and let me tell you its some of the most fun ive had in a video game in awhile. I highly recommend, you can actively see how much love and care the devs put into the game and the game/community feels very alive.
Eh, not really. The "tutorial" still doesn't cover most thing. And the plot falls off a cliff till uranus (which is at least 30 hours away without guidance)
@@smallestlord8293I think we need some smaller stuff in the in-between introducing more about the factions. We have the Deadlock Protocol for corpus, but the only quests we get about the grineer are really Vor's Prize, which barely mentions anything about the grineer. That, and the quest introducing the infested is kind of short and dismissable, I forget half the time that we DID have a quest introducing the infested.
I just tryed warframe again after having done so many years ago, and im hooked. Ive been having a blact going through the main quest, and ive barely even scratched the service and im so excited to dive into all the dlc updates.
@@sugoma1311 I mean they have roughly that much on minor devstreams too, people rarely are even paying attention to the drops or giveaways cause they're basically just icings on the cake, and with how the community and economy works, at least some of that given away platinum is just gonna make it's way throughout the community over time.
Players running out of things to do isn't as much of an issue because then we start looking for other people to share the experience with so we can experience it through newer players.
This is so true. I love playing with people that have still yet to experience parts of the game, reliving that magic of playing, The Sacrifice, New War, Duviri and Whispers for the first time, getting my first Incarnon, experiencing the steel path, hitting your first 1 million+ damage number with the right combination of mods. DE really did capture lightning in a bottle with Warframe, I hope that Soulframe is able to take its older brother's mantle and bring us something just as astounding and wonderful to experience and re-experience.
flats talking about warframe was never on my bingo list. as a 6 year on and off player with this game, the grind is heavy but they COMMUNICATE with their community and give good items, whether you wanna pay actual money for it, or pay some other currency (credits)
Yeah I kinda jumped ship 400 hours into OW2 this past January. Fast forward to now, my OW hours have barely moved and I'm closing in on 800 hours in Warframe 😂
LD is very correct about how the acquisition of new gear *feels*: First 3 or 5 hours: WHAT!? I have to buy blueprints and make it? It takes *12 hours* ?! Roughly 10 or 20 hours in: Oh when did I get these daggers? Guess it was a reward from unlocking the newest planet. Oh hey, I have all the materials to build? *clicks the build button* 100 hours in: Hmmm... Guess I can just build these 2 for now. My Soma hasn't really been doing it anymore, so I should have a couple rifles ready to find my Primary weapon main. Guess my Akstiletto Primes can take up the slack for now, while I squeeze the last couple ranks on that auto-crossbow I built last weekend. Man, I really thought I'd enjoy that one more. Oh well, at least I can pair those Akstiletto with my Lenz if I'm struggling with a fight, just passive-master the Zhuge in the meantime. Amprex? Weird name, but if it shoots lightning, I gotta give it a try. It should be finished building right around when I can sell that Zhuge. Oh, whups I forgot to claim those paired revolvers. Hm... the Hek's been nice, but I want to get a Kuva Hek, I'll sell the Hek to make room for now and if those revolvers don't work for me I can get rid of them if I get a Lich who's wielding the Kuva Hek I can take it from. (Disclaimer, I personally actually liked the Zhuge, but I can see people disliking an automatic weapon that's got travel time on it's projectiles instead of being a hit-scan weapon) 1000 hours in: Huh. That weapon was Vaulted. I've got the Link, which was the rare component. Maybe one of my Clan-mates has some of the relics that had the common parts in it? They've been wanting a Glaive Prime forever, I could offer to radiant my remaining NEO G6's and we can crack relics together? As for the Viewer Count being only the VOD views: Yep, those are only the VoD views, but if you watch it live, DE (the devs) do have reasonably regular drops/giveaways, so there's still a quite sizeable "live studio audience", and for which we actually receive updates about here forums.warframe.com/forum/113-livestreams/ Anyway, those things aside: Yes, Warframe is as complicated as you'd expect a game to be after it's been around for 11 years with continual updates and support. That said about 2 or 3 years ago they made a concerted push to specifically improve the new player experience, something that's still happening up to literally this past month (the most recent update: Koumei & The Five Fates just dropped - veterans have been very disappointed with Koumei, the most recent warframe because she's not immediately and obviously end-game, ignoring the fact she was clearly added as an early-game addition to a player's stable, with reduced build-time - all warframes take 72 hours to build except for her 24 hour build time - simplified resource requirements, acquisition method very early, and with a pity system to ensure RNG won't keep someone from getting all the components to build her, and powers that create a broad-but-shallow power pool.)
I have 3.5k hours in warframe. I've played since 2016. I've been there for content droughts, for hype releases, and for all the moments in between. I've only seen the love both DE and the players have for the game grow and that's been reflected in the fact that the floor for our concurrent players in our most recent "content drought" before our recent release was 70k players. We actively hit the top of steams charts now. I wish more people talked about it because it's working and it's healthy
It's not always positive, there have been plenty of times where DE has gotten harsh criticism regarding stuff like their own understanding of the game and it's mechanics. However, it usually comes from a place of love for the game and DE has generally been good at actually listening to the feedback. Now I just got back after an extended hiatus from the game, so lots have changed, but I remember stuff like when they first reworked Ember with the goal being to make her more endgame viable, and also stop the rushing through low level exterminates in less than a minute. The rework however didn't actually change anything, people could just swap out a mod or two and still run through low level exterminates, and it also didn't actually address her endgame problems which were no survivability and abilities that didn't do shit for damage against anything with armor. Kinda just seemed like a poorly thought out rework... Then maybe the biggest example from my time, was the proposed IPS changes where they wanted to make slash less dominant, however the proposed changes included making slash procs scale off modded slash damage on weapons, which would have only served to make slash heavy META options even more dominant since they would now become the only slash capable weapons and they'd get an additional 120% multiplicative mod to scale the procs with. It would also have killed Hunter Munitions builds... The backlash was basically instant, because any veteran player who looked at those changes immediately saw that it would just make matters worse, and within a few days DE dropped the plans... But again, it made me and many others at the time question whether or not DE actually understood how their game worked. Last one to mention for me would be the changes to arcane guardian which over night made frames like Nova, Mesa, and Gara into bigger health tanks than Chroma and Inaros, at that time I believe the arcane gave 600 flat armor which basically means you could just slap on one of these arcanes to get a 67% dmg reduction, on frames who already had 90% reduction on abilities, meanwhile frames like ice chroma who had previously benefitted greatly from the arcane due to it's percentage scaling now gained just a fraction of the armor it used to give. And just to demonstrate why this was a problem, if you have a frame which has a 90% dmg reduction that's equal to having 2700 armor... Now if you give them 600 armor on top of that, because DR from different sources scale multiplicatively, you now have 96.666...% DR which is equal to having 8700 armor... basically a on a frame with a 90% DR ability the arcane was 10x more effective than on other frames... You could also run double guardian, which was 1200 armor or effectively like giving these DR frames 12000 armor (on top of the 90% DR they already had) for a total DR of 98% which would have taken 14700 armor to achieve for frames who didn't have any DR abilities...
@@Kriss_941Funnily enough, Hunter munitions has become significantly less of a be all end all mod now, after earlier in the year they reworked enemy scaling so that enemies have an armour cap of 2700 armour, exactly 90% DR, but have more health, as well as reworking how status type weaknesses worked from HP/Shield/armour type based system to a faction based system, which allows other DoTs to be much more comparable to slash in high level content, while offering their own benefits like Heat inherit or Gas, Blast and Electric being AoE.
@@Kriss_941 Slash is actually WAY less potent now from the HP changes and heat actually outdoes it on DoT now. With new arcanes like secondary fortifier and the shield/overguard gating changes every frame can become very survivable now, no innate DR needed.
@@malpheus4299 I mean I know shits different now, lots of changes have happened, basically none of the status procs are the same, enemy armor has been reworked, even the damage type resistances have been reworked. Also yeah, shield gating turned basically any frame with a shield immortal... Which to be completely honest is not a good change imo... Just yet another case of power creep in one of the most power crept games out there. Yes I think shields needed some buffs to compete with health, but especially with subsumes being a thing any frame now can just run rolling guard and if they don't have a way to Regen shields on demand then you just subsume condemn... GG you're now immortal... Although I personally find it extremely annoying to do the whole shield gate loop constantly. Either way, we also have frames like revenant now who just has an ability which makes him immortal for a long ass time at no cost. And invis is still op anyway so I guess not too much has changed. All that to say, Octavia was a mistake...
22:02 you typically just stockpile relics and extra primes to go trade off for more platinum. Waiting for the next content drop of 1 base frame, 1 prime frame, and 2-3 new weapons. As well as 2-3 prime weapons every 3-4 month. This is coming from a Mastery 34 player (max as of the time of writing this comment)
@@CyQuelin you can still stockpile primes and just live in fissure missions. No matter the mastery rank. I like not being showered with market things when I login to play the game. This is the one game I am happy to spend money on and sink lots of hours in.
I'd also strongly recommend the review: "Warframe: It's so Good I Stopped Playing" because it gives a rly good idea of how much stuff is actually in the game, especially in it's diversity section, and also showcases just how nutty the movement can be a couple minutes in, with old footage of the clan obstacle course, compared to the more recent custom ones people can make now.
I feel like the new player experience isn’t really that bad it is just the mod system that can confuse new players but with some help anyone who plays games consistently and understand basic mechanics it’s pretty easy to learn
Not really any direction after vor's prize. Lotus litterally says "the universe needs saving" and dips😭. I think explicitly telling new players to do relays and explore the star chart would work.

Fun fact: If you take a 2 - 3 week break from the game where you don't log in, the next time you do log in, you get a 50% to 75% discount on any premium currency pack you buy with money.
@Monntauk you're correct, good sir. All you need to know is that as long as 2 weeks (or 3 weeks if you're unlucky) pass, you can get the discounts regardless wether you logged off, or consistently playing.
That’s not a guarantee or anything. The way it works is that every day has a set login reward, it’s not random when you get it. When you miss a day, that reward is lost, unless it is a plat discount. Those login rewards are saved if you miss their day, and you get it the next time you get on
No he's rigth, after some time of break (about 3week-1month) you have 100% chance to get a 75% discount. (Don't even try to debate with me, I'm a warframe veteran with 5000h+ in-mission, and It always happens)
I played FD for a bit, didn't like how it felt like destiny gun play with Warframe mechanics (expt the grapple hook) Didn't like how they posted the drop values of items ( some items drops are way to damn low for their worth). The mission tracking is bad. Had a mission where I needed to collect a character part but couldn't find the mission- After finding out it's in a certain part of a open world, went their to find that the drop chance is 1.25( from what I remember). And the power of certain characters don't synergize well at all. The game feels not good to play. Most of the fun I had was playing with the grapple hook at the tutorial section. Then it stumbled down into mediocre territory. The UI is a different story altogether. It's an ok game it just needs a lot of work and polishing.
19:25 "so how do they make money" DE made such a good game that people will actively still buy the premium currency for skins, decorations etc or people like me buy skins, decorations but simply flat out spend money because they believe DE deserves it. Me personally Ive spent a grand just because why not, theyve made a great game that ive played since release i have everything i want or need but every now amd then i spend just because.
22:20 the endgame is fashion frame. And the crafting time isn't a big deal because the ideal way to play is you farm a bunch of crap, craft it all and you can just snowball into a continuous stream of crafted items that keep flooding in assuming you keep finding things that interest you. And not everything takes three days of crafting time
On a material level, how they make money is the fact that all platinum in the economy was once bought by someone, and purchases from the in-game shop "delete" plat from the economy. This is not a critique, Warframe's economy is genuinely a stroke of absolute genius. They can sell you power, allow you to skip essentially anything in the game with mtx, BECAUSE you can go out and farm stuff to sell to other players for premium currency with no strings attached, so you CAN earn it FTP. They have also been mostly fair and good faith about letting you trade items that are actually valuable, and pricing things so that you can actually earn them on a timescale of days to weeks, as opposed to months to years, like some other implementations of earnable premium currency (cough cough OW2). All this in turn means that they can offer much more than just cosmetics to their paying customers, without hanging FTP out to dry.
@@BudderDog Yeah, the developers remark on how they made a mistake in allowing players to buy power, but "buying power" (forma, orokin reactors, orokin catalysts) is still a thing, and is still basically a REQUIREMENT (given how strictly time gated some of these resources are). Buying equipment slots is also "buying power" in a sense, especially with the game modes that require you to use specific equipment, and there's no way to earn equipment slots besides Nightwave, which only nets a few slots per season (which lasts months). But platinum being tradable means whales who want to pay to skip various farms subsidize those essential platinum purchases (and then some) for players who are mostly or purely F2P, which makes all of the difference. And another key thing, I think, is that trading has some friction to it, in that trades have to be conducted in real time/"face to face," and with the limits on daily trades. Sometimes people complain about those limitations on trading (and it would kind of suck finding buyers/sellers if warframe.market didn't exist), but if they were removed and Warframe had an Auction House type mechanic, platinum prices on most of the game's stuff would probably crater, and it would be a lot more difficult for especially newer F2P players in particular to grind out decent platinum. It all seems to work out to create a very nice, fair equilibrium.
I don't want to sound like the people defending the industry after BG3 was released but i think DE and Warframe are the exception in this area and not the rule :( Fact of the matter is DE COULD be making a lot more money then they do now if they started using Destiny like monetization strategies.
@@tlkfanrwbyfan8716 Well the reason Destiny has fallen hard is due to Bungie wrapping up the story but not giving the players hints of things to come. Players just don't see a reason to play a "finished" live service game. Before the Final Shape Destiny was the larger game.
Bungie didn't wrap up anything. There's so many unresolved story points from over the years that they forgot what kind of burger they were making and overcooked the tomatoes made the burger charcoal. I definitely do not need to hear anything about Destiny with my Warframe. I covered that game's lore for four-five years and I know well enough what a toss it is.
@@BeardGrizzly There can still be open threads in the story but if the player feels like they have witnessed the conclusion of the main narrative, it is going to be harder to hook said player back. Mix that with the lay-offs and change in the update model, you can't blame players for feeling that Destiny two is "finished"
I do recommended at least a duo to play the game with if your really new, the start is still being worked on to be friendly to new players but it still has it's rough start on getting better mods for weapons and even getting new frames
And not rush the missions. New players often don't get that they should run the missions solo or at least with someone who gives them the opportunity to explore the maps, open crates, etc.
It's so crazy to see Rebbeca going from intern to Creative Director and even being featured in forbes 40 under 40, all because of her love and dedication to the game.
There is a difference between "profit motivated" and "i want to make some money". Just as there is a difference between setting up a dropshipping site and starting a local bakery.
Warframe is a game i will always appreciate. The community is super sweet and helpful to each other and newer players and generally will never get old to me.
I have 4k hours on Warframe I'm Mr30, have 80% of the gear, and I can saw I've been through every form of content that there is and the game is still so fun even after 8 years of playing. The Gameplay is great, the story is great, and I'm glad its getting more attention it would be cool to see Flats atleast try the game
Warframe on paper is not at all beginner friendly, however contrary to logic it's playerbase makes the barrier to entry nonexistent and a very pleasant experience. I remember being new and asking where to farm this mod (Tempo Royale) which at the time was like 60-80 plat which was semi significant at the time for a new player and some random dude saw my message and just traded it to me asking for nothing in return, and ever since then I sometimes throw in freebies for new players trying to buy my items or if I run into a new player and he's struggling I'll help him for a bit. The nice thing about WF is that if you have even a little bit of a foothold on what you're doing, the game is very easy to just snowball. You can honesltly reach "end game" within a week or 2 if you really grind for it (which I don't recommend) but it's very much doable due to the game enabling you to exponentially grow. Edit -- For the crafting, honestly I assume it's something to keep new players from advancing too quickly (aka allowing them to breathe instead of nonstop 12-24 hour grind session til they reach steel path in 1 day) cause ever since MR 8 I've had things crafting in bulk and there are still things I havent claimed at all yet, so the craft time goes from being a minor inconvenience to being borderline redundant within a week or 2
@@Devinthehouse12 After steel path you still have exploiter orb and eidolons, game regularly adds content too, if you somehow run out of content which I'm not too sure is possible til after MR25, there's always fashionframe
Said this in a different comment but warframe with its community is a chain reaction the older and more knowledgeable lend there knowledge to the younger and the learning the community is what stops the unfriendly beginner thing because this repeats And you will also rarely find a bad if at all meet a bad person in warframe Me and this dude did a trade I was looking a valkyr prime at the time and he was looking for wisp prime or someone I forgot brains terrible at remembering but he was looking for a prime and I pretty much had the entire thing and he didn’t have valkyr prime I ended up giving him the entire thing and he really wanted to repay me so he went out his way to grind for og valkyr I wasn’t upset I would have gladly just given it to him free
22:21 "Is this a lot of grinding?" Yes, but because so much stuff you can grind of. There is like 100+ original and prime warframes, 500+ weapons, dozens of various companions and etc., so there are a lot of grind, but by amount, because most of these items you can get for less than hour of grinding. And while many weapons are just an account level fodder, it's safe to say that about half of all 500+ weapons and ALL warframes are viable for high level content
I still remember the day I watched the sponsored VanossGaming video about Warframe. I saw the graphics and the fluidity of the gameplay and said "I'd so play that if I could afford to buy games." The moment I heard it was free-to-play... I was completely and utterly shocked. What free to play game adds an entire open-world area WITH FISHING for free and not even as a purchasable DLC??! I fell in love with this game hard, I highly recommend you play it Flats
It's honestly not too bad to get into. The new player experience is something that has been getting some love, in the last two years or so almost every major update has seen at least a few small changes directed towards it (for instance, the game now actually tells you what you need to do in order to progress the main story. Didn't do that when I started playing, I kinda just had to guess which quests were main quests that advanced the story and which ones weren't), be it better tutorials, be it some balancing adjustments, re-shuffling of quest progression or even just quality of life. However, the pacing is still a bit weird. Like, you play through the tutorial which is a lot of story and progression and getting to know everything, and then the progression gets a bit slow burn for a few dozend hours until it suddenly hits you right in the nuts with a certain quest that really is the true starting point of the story.
23:10 the frames are built from 3 parts that each take time to build, you carry on playing the game while it builds in your ship, then you combine the 3 parts into the full frame taking 3 days or you can spend some plat to build it instantly I forget how much it is as I don’t think I’ve ever used it and I’ve been playing off and on since before there was a game (I’m one of the founding players and I’m still playing) oh I don’t think he mentioned it but when DE puts out anew story mission it’s free and unlike destiny DE don’t remove stuff that you have paid for (this boggles my mind about how players put up with that).
I started my warframe journey a little over 3 months ago now. The new player experience is definitely a little rough, but there are MANY resources out there to help you if you put the effort into watching videos and looking up things on reddit or the wiki. The game itself will show you the basics but you will need to look into it a little more to start understanding the concepts of modding and other mechanics in the game. It was confusing and overwhelming at first, but then, something just clicked and I understood what I was supposed to be doing. Have been playing it every single day ever since.
My favorite part about warframe is you don’t really have FOMO in it. The only part you miss by not playing for a couple months is the grind you would’ve done (and prime unvaultings, but prime versions are not necessary at all), and more content is gonna come in that time you’re away as well. Such a fantastic game for anyone that’s not in a competitive mood
the craziest thing about warframe is how if you aren't afraid to ask for help or advice people will come to you its like always having an older sibling around the corner i asked around for what frame to get a guy guided me thru the ups and downs of each and no more than half an hour after another guy someone the first guy met hit me up and guided me through what mods to get for my chosen frame for two whole hours in real life you'd have to pay someone for that amount of time, total strangers just helping out and checking up on you to see what your progression has been like these guys truly took the saying "it takes a village" to heart
10:40 People that are saying BG3 costed too much and it's never going to be an industry standard are greedy game-directors, after a lil bit of research this is what i found: BG3 budget is between $100-$200m while CoDMW2 2022 was apparently $250m (correct me if i'm wrong), so the difference is not in the budget but in the passion and love for the game from devs. While BG3 took ~6 years to release, we get new CoD every 1-2 years (and CoD is just an example there are waaaaay too many games with similar budget and monetization to count)
The problem is that 200Mil in 2 years is much cheaper than 200Mil in 6 years because your investment isn't sitting around in that long production cycle. The problem isn't cost, the problem is how long that money sits around before you sell games.
The problem is that a 6 year long development cycle meant that if BG3 failed that was the end of the company. I always understood the comment in the tweet as "this was too risky and we shouldn't expect a publisher / company to do assume that risk.
@@bargainbincatgirl6698 i would assume that being a multi-billion dollar company will ensure that they can take a risk but release a work of passion and not a free-2-play slop riddled with MTX or a $70 game that needs a day 1 patch to even be playable (and also have a day 1 DLC for some reason). We're not asking for a BG3 level game are we ? we're asking for a good quality game that people can enjoy
Oh I'd love to watch you play through Warframe! I just got back into the game from a 5 year hiatus after watching the video you reacted to just now and it's a blast!
Hey flats, Warframe creator here been a big fan of u and emong for a long time. Will say warframe is def a great game, but the content is all just builds/guide videos. Been trying to fix tht slowly by just showing fun unique content and animations and such. The reason ppl lose interest is because of this. I hope the creator community wakes up a bit and we can pull ppl in like you to show that it’s mega fun and welcoming. Ik this is old video but I hope you see this flats ❤
I think the only think that you have to pay for with cash is community designed skins for warframes and weapons, other than that is 100% free to play. As someone who has played the game for a good while now, they can have my money. If any company at this point deserves it, id give it to DE because although they've had their ups and downs, this is still one of the only games i will forever come back to.
I completly agree with you. I only have 1-2 FPS games on my computer at all times. i primarily been playing more and more PVE games such as Palworld, Satisfactory, and Warframe and honestly i can get 50-100 hours per game....except warframe which I have 1000+ hours and honestly I don't care about many of the season stuff
18:08 They did remove the hero microtransactions in Battlefront. They changed it so you could only by skins, every hero was unlocked, and troop abilities had to be achieved through gameplay
Plat can be gotten by trading items to other players. Main places where players use plat are: - More Weapon slots - Can only be gotten by plat - More Warframe slots - Can only be gotten by plat - More whatever slots - Can only be gotten by plat, but not needed that much after you get some. - Formas - Can be aqcuired through various means, mainly from opening relics. However, I can go through 20-30 in an evening when I forma stuff, so I use plat to get them from the shop. Forma are used to "Re-level" your gear. Put forma in a weapon mod slot, mods (same icon as what you put there) cost only half now (you have max capacity in all your gear). Thus you might level up a weapon or frame up to 8 times, to mod every slot. - Boosters - 2x resource drops, 2x resource drop chance, 2x affinity (exp), 2x credits - Mostly only gotten by plat. Can be acquired by few other means, but plat is easiet. - Possibly Orokin Reactors and Orokin Catalysts (potatoes, we call them) - Can be also acquired from the (free) "season-pass" called Night Wave, but initially night wave might not be enough. With potatoes, you double the mod capacity for a frame or weapon (or any other gear you can mod). As a veteran, I have tens of these stacked already, as I do not take new weapons into use very often and only potatoe new prime frames (Which appear 4 times a year). On the other hand, all weapons, frames, prime frames, mods and whatever, can be all gotten from the game itself. I think I have not bought any gear with plat ever (11 years in the game).
the nightwave also rewards weapon slots and warframe slots. Also whenever DE gives away stuff like a frame or a weapon through twitch drops or whatever it comes with a warframe slot, so most recent example is Caliban. Due to his rework everyone were given a free Caliban for simply logging on, and this frame came with a potato and a warframe slot included.
Thanks for the reminders. I forgot Night wave can also give slots. All free items (from watching streams and such) do also come with a slot (if you sell the item you got). If you plan to get all, or even most, of the stuff (and keep it), these slots are not going to be enough, though. There is the option of just selling stuff for credits before acquiring more (thus freeing up slots), but at least with normal warframes, I would suggest keeping them until they are needed for ... a specific thing in a game. With weapons, some are needed for more advanced version, and DE is cranking out specific upgrade things for old weapons as well, that make the weapons way more powerful. If you want to take advantage of these, you need to have the weapons. With the final end game content (for the time being), having at least the best version (be it prime, vandal, tenet, etc) of the weapons available yourself also helps. As I said, getting plat in-game is very much possible. However, I would suggest everyone who plans on playing more than just trying it out, to buy the max plat set (4300) at least once (or depending how much you play, maybe every time) whenever you get the -75% plat discount. That would be less than one "AAA" game as money goes, and that 4k plat will get your quite far in the slots/forma/potatoe department. Personally, I always get the -75% discounted plat. There are many -50% discounts, but the -75% are quite rare.
Weapon Slots and Warframe slots are usually in nightwave tiers too, takes some doing, but you can get them, also whenever they give weapon ot frame via twitch drops and similar you get a slot :D Everyone on login gets caliban at the moment, and with rework it is a good fame, but already got it, and you other one already has potatoe in it, then sell it and boom a free slot.
We get several periodic streams all year where we get to talk to the devs about worries and needs in the game is a huge factor that makes warframe a game for its players.
Flats, I've been grinding Warframe for over 5 years (700+ in game hours) and I'm no where close to running out of things to do. Yes, it can be a pain in the ass and a horrible grind every now and again, but newer content has been absolutely amazing, and I'll gladly give my time to this game. I've spent way too much money, but I can confidently say that Warframe is the only game I need, if I had to have just one. Warframe is not friendly to new players, and can be hard to free to play players to understand how it works, but once you learn how this game and its market/community works, it is the single best hardcore grind game. Warframe is a mess, and we love it.
I like Warframe, I play since 2018, but this is exaggeration. Weapons arent content. Missions, quests... this is content, I finished all the content in Warframe in teh first year, the rest was building and building isnt content.
@@erichdegurechaff9515 You aren’t building and using enough things then. Weapons are absolutely content no less than Warframes are. If you are determined, you can turn the worst weapon into a Geneva Convention violator that would make the worst characters blush and have fun doing it, same for the “less viable” Warframe. It all depends how much time you want to put into it because the game will reward you for it.
I will say this after playing Warframe for so long, IT IS SO FUN HELPING OTHERS, like legitemately it is so cool halping new players, teaching them new things, and even in clans when someone needs help with crafting or getting an item we set time to help them out because, we do....thats the cool part...we just like to help others, at least thats what i do, like it was so cool when i found out my little brother pciked up the game and watching his kid mind somehow rack and get the concepts the game with tips, like he was 7...AND HE BUILT A PRIME WARFRAME BY HIMSELF, DO YOU KNOW HOW CRAZY THAT IS!!! Like it is such a good community and if your reading this, i really want you to try the game, even if you left the game in the past, it wouldn't hurt to pick up the game again would it?
I totally agree with the other commenters that are saying you should give Warframe a try. I take breaks from it but I always come back and I've always supported it because it truly is the most ethical free-to-play game. There is an insane amount of content and the feeling of parkour gun and melee is so incredible. I don't personally feel like there is a game out there that competes with the combat of Warframe. The fact that you can also get spaceships now and fly your own ships as well as upgrade them and even higher your own crew it's just too freaking good. It's not perfect and no game is, but it's the best free to play game that there is.
22:23 Well Flats, the end game is still VERY far away from a new player, but there's always something to do. They have had content since 2012 and have been building it since then consistently. Get done with the quests? Tackle completing the star chart, maxing the reputation you have with the various factions, grind for those shiny warframes, take the ship combat out for a spin, get some scanners and complete the codex. And then theres the TRUE endgame, Fashionframe. Honestly, without paying a cent into the game so far, theres an unbelievable amount of content that can go for hundreds of hours, and a lot of that is drawn by the regular gameplay loop being fun.
He has talked about Warframe insofar as he doesn't want to concern himself with it. Considering the space of games he is in, that's pretty poor on his part.
Right now is actually perfect to get into Warframe tbh. Definitely give it a goo Edit: Also if you're still on the fence I'd highly recommend you watch mactics and his journey :)
Game companies are horrendous at corporate knowledge. Everything is silo'd to a series, team, lead, etc. Publishers are even worse. Why did it take Sony 6 years to make raw input + no smoothing the default on PC?
My first real exposure to warframe was Seagull streaming warframe during the Heart of Deimos update! I remember seeing him fly with Zephyr over Cambion Drift and it looked incredible. I joined sometime during Operation: Orphix Venom and now I have 600h in the game.
I love how Community team was one of the most important departaments and still is. Meanwhile other studios... ehm...ehm... I had the feeling of wanting to spend money in game to support the studio with Guild Wars 2. I trully loved to give them 50 every month. It was like my annual paycheck for them even so the game does not require you to spend money (you can exchange in game currency into gems which is paid currency). I was doing it, because of how amazing was the communication between player/studio and how much they cared. Live streams, charities, artist streams on official twitch. So studios can make money by being there for people. I don't spend money in OW, because the game has nothing to offer and there is no communication. They didn't deliver anything they promised, they just put more paid currencies...and Blizzard is a BIG a*s studio, with multiple facilities. They need no money for zero work.
Flats, I'm a diehard warframe vet. I've played it for years and love your content. The game is kinda difficult to get into without someone helping you through, THERES A LOT TO IT. I would genuinely LOVE to help introduce you to the game and see what you think. My only advice is the story takes a bit to kick off but when it does, it does HARD
This is the case for all free to play games What you don't need is something like an Activision account or a blizzard account, though if you want cross save you will need to create a Warframe account
Just subbed with notification bell on. Waiting with baited breath to see you start your WF journey. Your fun and enjoyment you will get out of this incredible game is next to none. Welcome to the community brother
Warframe is definitely worth getting into. So much has changed that its not to much to get into while its still kind of overwhelming just due to how much there is in the game but you won’t get stuck wondering what to do next.
It was the creative directors (Rebecca) birthday the other day and the entire warframe reddit were wishing her happy birthday and she was replying thanking people and saying how much she loves being part of the game. It's so heart warming being part of the community they just love the game.

Some highlights:
They were doing some new cosmetic bundles and were asking the audience at their weekly dev stream what they'd think is fair.
@Thominouche yeah when you buy tennogen items with plat, the creator still gets a slice of profit

I need help with the game 😭

lol i went the evil route of the "endurance-running" endgame
got me to quit during steel paths drop because enemy ehp-scaling into long endless runs was obliterated. lmfao haven't played since 2019/2020. although i did tune-in for duviri since that change was right up my alley of endurance runs & the rougelite rng from circuit mattered more than scaling (in terms of fun) during endurance runs there.
i also used to give things away tho. Lol lot of vets would always say "don't feed the beggers!" Or "no begging!" in social spaces but i had enough stuff from long runs & also the grind-cycle of trading had lost its fun for me ages ago so im like whyyy nottt. especially to spite the "no begging" stuff or just to help hit the charity goal during tennobaum.
warframe lost me but i still recommend it to people 😂 community fun, fashion fun, devs fun. cool game
I tip my Orokin Catalyst off to you, one legend to another
[42:55] Forma was one of the items that players requested to be easier to acquire.
I just really like how they respond and work around things like that
They lowered the crafting time to 23 hours a while back, so you don't have to keep delaying the craft into your bed time :3
One of the things the devs did was introduce a limited edition tier of skins *called heirlooms* for cash only (no platinum, straight cash). The community got super upset over it. So DE's response instead of ignoring it was to make those skins/bundles purchasable with the premium currency AND make it permanent so you can get it whenever you want.
DE are by far the best Dev's in terms of a live service product in the industry.
Edit *added heirlooms*
That's just in console in PC is still with money and is cuz a part of the money go to the artist that created the skin, cosmetics, etc.

good ending
Yeah I kinda jumped ship 400 hours into OW2 this past January. Fast forward to now, my OW hours have barely moved and I'm closing in on 800 hours in Warframe 😂
@alexblackwood2316 Once you get past the first 50 hours and you start to realise how things work you just get addicted to the game!
LD is very correct about how the acquisition of new gear *feels*:
First 3 or 5 hours: WHAT!? I have to buy blueprints and make it? It takes *12 hours* ?!
Roughly 10 or 20 hours in: Oh when did I get these daggers? Guess it was a reward from unlocking the newest planet. Oh hey, I have all the materials to build? *clicks the build button*
100 hours in: Hmmm...
(Disclaimer, I personally actually liked the Zhuge, but I can see people disliking an automatic weapon that's got travel time on it's projectiles instead of being a hit-scan weapon)
1000 hours in: Huh. That weapon was Vaulted. I've got the Link, which was the rare component. Maybe one of my Clan-mates has some of the relics that had the common parts in it? They've been wanting a Glaive Prime forever, I could offer to radiant my remaining NEO G6's and we can crack relics together?
As for the Viewer Count being only the VOD views: Yep, those are only the VoD views, but if you watch it live, DE (the devs) do have reasonably regular drops/giveaways, so there's still a quite sizeable "live studio audience", and for which we actually receive updates about here forums.warframe.com/forum/113-livestreams/
Anyway, those things aside: Yes, Warframe is as complicated as you'd expect a game to be after it's been around for 11 years with continual updates and support.
I’m down for Flats-frame!
Same!
A crossover of two of my favorite UA-camrs! I never expected you to watch this but I’m glad you did
The crossover of flats and warframe has got me excited
As a current player, that’s after getting all warframes, weapons, pets and other items right?
Only MR 20, still have long way to go.
@@CyQuelin you can still stockpile primes and just live in fissure missions.

You’re already past the main barrier for other weapons, (that being MR16) really the only reason to continue mastery past that point is QoL for progressing syndicates.

@@siromnoms The real reason I'm raising my MR since hitting16 is higher scaling Simulacrum testing haha. Same with getting all my scans completed with Dante/Helios.

The way DE handled Warframe with the dev touch or need could have saved overwatch2 storymode
DE handled the story worse then overwatch. At least blizzard new where to focus there attention.
Fun fact: If you take a 2 - 3 week break from the game where you don't log in, the next time you do log in, you get a 50% to 75% discount on any premium currency pack you buy with money.
you can also just get logging in normally.
i get a 50% off like twice a month. sometimes more.
@Monntauk you're correct, good sir.
Those login rewards are saved if you miss their day, and you get it the next time you get on
@@Zach-cn4lb there's no 'missing days' you just progress the reward track every day you log in.
No he's rigth, after some time of break (about 3week-1month) you have 100% chance to get a 75% discount. (Don't even try to debate with me, I'm a warframe veteran with 5000h+ in-mission, and It always happens)
Btw flats first descendant tried to mimic Warframe
I played FD for a bit, didn't like how it felt like destiny gun play with Warframe mechanics (expt the grapple hook)
Didn't like how they posted the drop values of items ( some items drops are way to damn low for their worth).
The mission tracking is bad. Had a mission where I needed to collect a character part but couldn't find the mission-
After finding out it's in a certain part of a open world, went their to find that the drop chance is 1.25( from what I remember).
22:06 that's the funny part, you don't. There is so much shit to do and farm that you never run out of stuff to do.
there is SO much content in this game dude, i have 4k hours and been playing on and off since 2017 and still don't have everything
21:31 raise your hand if you bought cosmetics or spent on warframe not to advance but to support them 🙋♂️
15:19 i think i see the spark of interest with the gameplay haha.
Oh hey; is this the start of Flats changing perspective about what Free to Play games can be? Is this it?
I don't want to sound like the people defending the industry after BG3 was released but i think DE and Warframe are the exception in this area and not the rule :( Fact of the matter is DE COULD be making a lot more money then they do now if they started using Destiny like monetization strategies.
@@greatmatt301They could, but look where that has lead Destiny.
"What is this movement?" That my friend is warframe in a nutshell.
Flats entering a Warframe era would be HUUUGE
I do recommended at least a duo to play the game with if your really new, the start is still being worked on to be friendly to new players but it still has it's rough start on getting better mods for weapons and even getting new frames
a duo that wont just give them everything and not spoil shit
And not rush the missions. New players often don't get that they should run the missions solo or at least with someone who gives them the opportunity to explore the maps, open crates, etc.
Flats would be a grendel main 100% much love bro
I feel like he'd be a frost main if we wanna go a bit more Reinhardt-esque.
Edit -- For the crafting, honestly I assume it's something to keep new players from advancing too quickly (aka allowing them to breathe instead of nonstop 12-24 hour grind session til they reach steel path in 1 day) cause ever since MR 8 I've had things crafting in bulk and there are still things I havent claimed at all yet, so the craft time goes from being a minor inconvenience to being borderline redundant within a week or 2
Warframe is boring after steel path and unlocking the best weapons. Like it just turns into a sandbox game
@@Devinthehouse12 After steel path you still have exploiter orb and eidolons, game regularly adds content too, if you somehow run out of content which I'm not too sure is possible til after MR25, there's always fashionframe
@@izanamisgrave idk the game just makes gives you the OP stuff to early
Said this in a different comment but warframe with its community is a chain reaction the older and more knowledgeable lend there knowledge to the younger and the learning the community is what stops the unfriendly beginner thing because this repeats
And you will also rarely find a bad if at all meet a bad person in warframe
Me and this dude did a trade I was looking a valkyr prime at the time and he was looking for wisp prime or someone I forgot brains terrible at remembering but he was looking for a prime and I pretty much had the entire thing and he didn’t have valkyr prime I ended up giving him the entire thing and he really wanted to repay me so he went out his way to grind for og valkyr I wasn’t upset I would have gladly just given it to him free
I think it would be awesome to see you try out Warframe!
I would love to see Flats getting into Warframe. If he loves Rein, I think he'd love Warframe
*fragor prime and wolf sledge increases*
You are welcome Tenno! All are welcome here!!
Such a fantastic game for anyone that’s not in a competitive mood
the craziest thing about warframe is how if you aren't afraid to ask for help or advice
people will come to you its like always having an older sibling around the corner
i asked around for what frame to get a guy guided me thru the ups and downs of each and no more than
half an hour after another guy someone the first guy met hit me up and guided me through what mods to get for my chosen frame for two whole hours
in real life you'd have to pay someone for that amount of time, total strangers just helping out and checking up on you to see what your progression has been like
these guys truly took the saying "it takes a village" to heart
10:40 People that are saying BG3 costed too much and it's never going to be an industry standard are greedy game-directors, after a lil bit of research this is what i found:
BG3 budget is between $100-$200m while CoDMW2 2022 was apparently $250m (correct me if i'm wrong), so the difference is not in the budget but in the passion and love for the game from devs.
While BG3 took ~6 years to release, we get new CoD every 1-2 years (and CoD is just an example there are waaaaay too many games with similar budget and monetization to count)
Concord was $400m, Skulls and Bones was $600m+. Yes, budget =/= quality.
I’d love to help and see flats on his baby Tenno journey 😭 that would be the craziest world collide for me
Oh I'd love to watch you play through Warframe!
Flats talking about warframe! Oh shit. My favourite creator and my favourite game! ❤️❤️❤️
Seeing people be surprised by HOW MUCH content that warframe has always makes me smile
Prime accessories are also real money only, and those are some of the flashiest cosmetics in the game.
The very best thing about the whole railjack thing is that most likely in the next update we will get way more content for it AND IM HYPE WOOOOOOO
Main places where players use plat are:
- More Weapon slots - Can only be gotten by plat
- More Warframe slots - Can only be gotten by plat
- More whatever slots - Can only be gotten by plat, but not needed that much after you get some.
Slots can be gotten through nightwave too but since that's a fairly slow way to build up extra slots yeah plat is the main method.
the nightwave also rewards weapon slots and warframe slots. Also whenever DE gives away stuff like a frame or a weapon through twitch drops or whatever it comes with a warframe slot, so most recent example is Caliban. Due to his rework everyone were given a free Caliban for simply logging on, and this frame came with a potato and a warframe slot included.
Invasion also gife potato i thing is one for weak but is also can be forma
Dawg I just got friends into this game this week (destiny/OW2 survivors) and recommended this video lol
In game hours do not include your time out of missions, which is probably like 1/3 of my time.
2000+ hours and still doing things. Game has a ton of stuff, and that’s putting it lightly.
@@erichdegurechaff9515yea that’s wild saying weapons aren’t content lmao. So new weapons and incarnon variants aren’t drip fed content lol ok.
I want to imagine Flats playing Chains of Harrow and trading in the market...
Warframe is the love of my life flats, its so goated
In the resent patch that dropped october 2, the new player-friendly appeared too, it's now the time to start playing the game
I think I just figured out why Paul Tassi won't talk about Warframe... because it goes against his narrative.
?
He did talk about Warframe tho. I think it's just a game he hasn't been exposed to.
Like LD said, WF is sort of a secret.
He has talked about Warframe insofar as he doesn't want to concern himself with it. Considering the space of games he is in, that's pretty poor on his part.
the devs are genuinely so amazing, ive played with a few in game and they’re always so kind.
Right now is actually perfect to get into Warframe tbh. Definitely give it a goo
Edit: Also if you're still on the fence I'd highly recommend you watch mactics and his journey :)
Me when the Canadian Company Digital Extremes is living up to the American Dream more then most American Companies 🍾🎉🤕
The only game I know of that you can play online without even having ps+ or Xbox live
This is the case for all free to play games
What you don't need is something like an Activision account or a blizzard account, though if you want cross save you will need to create a Warframe account
Started playing it because of this. Loving it
There actually are times with like 200k live viewers from time to time but that's not every week obviously
Just subbed with notification bell on. Waiting with baited breath to see you start your WF journey. Your fun and enjoyment you will get out of this incredible game is next to none. Welcome to the community brother
End game warframe is fashion
Warframe is definitely worth getting into. So much has changed that its not to much to get into while its still kind of overwhelming just due to how much there is in the game but you won’t get stuck wondering what to do next.
PLZ PLAY WARFRAME FLATS. Absolutely love it, and currently have 534 hours on it atm
Legendary drops video got me to try warframe and ive been hocked on it sense that video came out
Flats you should 100% play Warframe. At least try it out, see why so many people are playing it!
Just imagine that the most viewed part of video is when a cat jumps on background
