    Hey guys, Cameron from Evasive here! The mirror arms are actually full cast magnesium! We offer a them for a bunch more cars with base plates that bolt up to oem location as well as a universal set! Same mirrors that Mike Power runs on his FD S15 too! So happy that this set went to a good home with Spoon!

    Jimmy, I know you're no stranger to running race cars, but I think you'll find that a full blown dedicated race car will need it's own space for all the upkeep and maintenance. If the pro car isn't on the track, it will be on the lift. That back corner seems like it would be the perfect spot to dedicate the pro car to live once it's out of the build area. Deck it out with all the part storage you will need for that thing, because there will be A LOT.

    Jimmy, scrap metal = money. Being a big garage with lots of poople, it adds up quick. Just set up a few bins (ally, stainless, copper/wire, rando steel). All the off cuts, all the car parts... so much stuff, taking 10 seconds to chuck it in the corresponding bin will make you money you can invest back in to your activities

      @strugglyboys 18 днів тому

      @JackTruitt you'd be amazed how quickly it adds up. Quick look on Google tell me usa is around $300/ton. Bet they do that in brake changes alone. Think how many friends go through there. I'm usually a lurker here, but I came here to voice my support for shop organization content! I absolutely LOVE this type of stuff. I love rethinking my own shop, and watching folks rethink theirs is a close second.
    As a side note, my shop is small and I have to keep it super tight. To help with that, a few years ago I started putting EVERYTHING on wheels and it's been a total game changer. My cabinets, tool boxes, even work benches all go on wheels. Clean up? A breeze. Reconfigure? NBD. Move work spaces? Easy. Just something to consider. It took time and effort but the pause was worth the outcome. Can't imagine not being able to just move stuff around anymore.

    Wall mounts, drawers, socket sets, fans, holesaw kits, organizers
    The upfront cost is a decent chunk of change but nothing near snap on or other brands and it’s perfect, you can literally grab anything and take it with you anywhere in the shop or road, I’d even be comfortable installing the mounts on my trailer and directing latching in too bring my tools.
    Well worth the investment and if you don’t want Milwaukee, Klein tools makes another great unit

    I actually enjoyed reorganising the shop so I'll enjoy watching it. There's so much to be gained from it. Of course we as the commenters are all going to look at this from our own perspective so just take the suggestions that suit you but a tidy and organised workshop definitely aided me a lot. And it doesn't need to cost much either; we don't all have LZ money. I don't get the seemingly American idea of all the open shelving; everything gets dusty and it's visually cluttering. That whole stack of specialty tools or all the paint cans would be in a closed off metal cabinet at our shop. A bit of painters tape and sharpie to say what goes where. And you can get those cheap, new at Ikea (or similar, maybe home depot in your case) or used at a office liquidation sale. Your mom's office most likely has some in storage catching dust. It organises it and it's visually a lot less cluttering.
    I could go on.. Ok just a few. Get a big wooden board(paint it if you feel fancy) along with a bunch of woodscrews an hang it above your workbench. Get all the loose specialty tools you often use like that bearing puller in the bottom of your toolbox that only you know where to find, that big collection of clutch alignment tools or the different torq wrenches etc and hang them on the board with a few woodscrews or hooks. Then take a bright paint marker and draw the shape of the tool around it. You'll visually instantly know where to find it and likewise know what was there when it's out of place. Get the work ethic up to put back in place after use and you'll be searching for them a lot less. Another one; I don't know what you guys use in the US to get food to and around supermarkets but here we have modular trolly's for that. A sturdy square rolling dolly with removable metal gates you can hang shelves in between of. A inexpensive way to organize projects. Roll it next to the car your taking apart, add a few bins for the bolts and some hooks to hang stuff of it and roll it away to the backroom when your done. Obviously the bigger parts like bumpers and the like need their own designated shelf but it prevents a lot of stuff getting lost, simple but effective.
    And lastly I find it interesting that youtubers like you with a certain public find it difficult to diversify their content. I don't see the underlying data so there's that but guys like Cleetus and LZ have pulled it of. Having a channel like yours should and could entail a lot more than the constant new project builds and bolting on shiny expensive parts. Most of us watching are all car guys in one way shape or form. And that entails a lot more than the constant being on the road or a flashy building process. This being a good example of that. If i'd want that i could watch some fake car show on commercial television. The process is more interesting than the end result. That's why I like the anti hero's like Coldwarmotors; a guy and some friends restoring/rebuilding classics with very limited means but not skipping on quality. Anyway thats just me. I know the UA-cam views will drive you to certain standpoints.

    The worst part of reorganizing a shop is walking to the old location is something for the next 6 months lol. Love this content. This is going to help more than you and the boys realize what should go where!

    Keep it up! Looking great, id watch ya organize the boxes lol. I like the clean up after a big race quad or bike build when you realize things need to be moved around to fit the flow of the shop.

    Happy new year 🎉 The way I set up my shop, I have pallet racking shelving above my tool boxes, so I can hang things, store things and maximise space, they can be used as benches too, the taller the better in your shop, mine are about 14ft tall.

    Highly recommend getting some roller wire racks from Costco. They make great part storage for projects and can be moved with the vehicle.

    Just make it easy and get a pallet rack either to partionion the space or along a wall, then just whatever cheap fork you like (that can reach) 1 pallet per car unless it's completely apart is very doable, especially with someone like spoon who could probably build some killer parts stillages and really maximise what you can fit.
