ITS THE PLUS SIZE TALK FOR ME. As a plus-size woman, I relate. I have never been so happy to finally find trendy clothes I like in my size and at a very reasonable price. Before I discovered SHEIN it was such a struggle and sometimes the clothes made for a bigger woman are not flattering and I would always tell m mom that these clothing stores make plus-size clothing that look like something my grandma would wear and if not then you find yourself paying 1k+ for an outfit. For over 4 years I hadn't done any proper shopping but shein came to the rescue. I have never felt so good.
I have been in your situation for 3 years, always went to shopping and came back with nothing coz the big sizes that were there were just something that you would wear when cleaning.

Zara is a whole mess on it's own hey.. They double deduct due to their stupid system that "reserves" the payment due... and only "release" it to them when your order arrives in store/collected/delivered... But stupidly instead of taking the reserved funds they take them directly from your bank acc causing the double payment😪.. They do that to every online purchase made regardless of the bank you use... Therefore the problem is indeed with the Store/s and not the bank. (personal experience) Tip for the double Zara charges - call your bank soon after the double charge and ask them to release the reserved funds back to your acc (normally takes -7 days).
it's not a scam, it does happen and basically when it happens doesn't mean you lost your money, you just need to wait for the money to reflect back in your account.

I had a similar experience with cotton on in December. I think our banks also need to take accountability. I used my standard bank and the money left however on my standard bank app it appeared as pending transaction. My latest balance and available balance wasn't adding up so I decided to do the reconciliation on my own before going to the bank and luckily it balanced so I ended up not going in the bank. Our banks need to update their apps by making them more user friendly and sending us notifications on all pending transactions
I suspect the shein app. I think they need to fix whatever bug it has because my fourth transaction worked but through their website. I have never had any online payment issues using another website or app via Absa. This is the first time I'm experiencing this. Maybe shein updated their app and it has a bug or something

PayPal, is a must when online shopping, but I just wanted to add that PayPal has a time limit if you need to claim a refund, I think it may be 45 days either from the date of purchase or delivery. Please, make sure that you know the return claim policy for PayPal. I got caught out when I tried to claim for unreceived goods and it was after the 45 days, as I hadn't realised there was a time claim limit, and I lost my money.😒
Would have thought PayPal or ABSA would have stopped the 2nd or 3rd payment or at least asked you to confirm that you are fine with making a payment of the same amount to the same vendor (potential duplicate)
This happened to me on Thursday (30 June 2022). And I was like how can Shein do this to me!! Twice the amount in one order. But worries me is that the references were not the same, the first one was from Cape town and the second one from Bloemfontein. I contacted them and they said they received one payment. I cancelled my order and asked for the refund same day I did the purchase. They said I should wait for 2-14 days but today I received my money back. Then I decided to go to the bank, they helped to get my money back before the end of the day and I got it. Shein don't scam people, There are people out there tryna make Shein look like a scam.
I'm sorry about your experience. I don't think it's intentional. But I do think (from my own experience and other people's experiences) that Shein is the reason for this issue and that they have the power to fix it. Too many of us have the same story. I'm glad you got your money back. Not everyone is that fortunate.
I had something similar happen with amazon. I bought a bunch of things from different vendors,the total due was deducted but hours later i started noticing specific amounts being returned and taken out again.I called amazon,they could only see 2 transactions,even though my amazon account showed me everything i bought. Next,I called my bank TD and the rep was ssoo helpful,she did the same thing your rep did. Go through payments and she said the issue with amazon is that if you buy from different vendors,some orders had been accepted by the merchant so they went through and some have not yet been accepted. my money is in the air. She calculated everything and proved the money was not missing.amazon took what was accepted by the merchant and the rest would go through once the merchant accepted. It took me an hour to believe her.although til this day,i think i was done dirty lol .I got all my stuff eventually but the “money is in the air” thing annoys me.

Something similar happened to me on Saturday with the free shipping deal😭 The page was loading for too long so I just changed apps to PayPal to see what happened. The transaction didn't go through on Shein's side, neither did it show in my PayPal account that I made a transaction. BUT my bank account already had the amount deducted. I sent a message to Shein, and emailed PayPal but PayPal replied with a generic response. But thankfully the amount was deposited back into my account and I used the credit debit card payment method, but it didn't require me to input my ID Number into shein, which is why I used PayPal in the first place.

@@TravelwithMrsS customs goes to either Buffalo logistics or aramex couriers depending on who your courier company is for your specific order. No customs amount whatsoever goes to Shein.

As a business owner I can safely say It happens regularly . I’ve had clients swipe a certain amount then it will show that their money has been deducted but I didn’t receive anything . It happens and mostly it’s the bank to be at fault. I don’t know how it works with foreign business but it’s easier to get your money back with local banks and businesses .
I give them the receipt and I keep a copy . The receipt tells u whether the transaction didn’t go through . Then we re-swipe . If your first swipe which didn’t go doesn’t go back to u in 1-3 working days . Call the bank and rectify it. Both receipts will be used as proof . Then lastly I Take down their contacts details to follow through. Its easily rectified in with local businesses and banks I’m not sure how it works will when buying online with other countries and banks . I think shein needs to do better in helping people dealing with such predicament.

what you went through is not just about online banking,same thing happened to me,I got paid in my FNB account and then jikijiki my money was missing and ended up with a negative balance,after a few weeks there was money in my account.I just went normal shopping.I believe that stone in the banks is playing in our accounts.Honestly I don't believe the consultants way of reconciling and indeed your money is missing.
Yup same thing happened to me with Capitec, they said “payment failed” but money went out... I fought with them for 5 months 🤒🤒🤒 they still investigating.
I've been using SHEIN since 2019 and I place orders each & every month...they only thing I can complain about from shein is sometimes they delay in delivering on time ... & everytime I lay a complain about their product & want a refund they refund within 2days!
I used paypal for Shein everything was fine the next thing I started receiving SMS’s from my bank because money was being used to make purchases from my PayPal account via my card. I then logged a complaint at my bank and I received my money back. Three transactions to be precise and I blocked the transactions the next thing SHEIN blocked me from making purchases. I asked them why they blocked me they said because I was high risk 😅😅😅😅 but my bank refunded me via pay pal. I then canceled the card. So someone still tried to make purchases on the canceled card on my PayPal. That was wild!!!
When it's uncleared it means the money was still on hold. You could've called Absa to stop the transactions. There's a time limit though I think 24 hours
The reason the money left is because of SHEIN. All 3 transactions where in "SHEIN's air" if I can put it that way. Their system has a glitch that causes money to leave but not be accepted by them. It's in their air. I don't know how else to explain it. Watch other people's videos. There are other people who are still fighting to get their money back. I myself dint know for a fact if I actually got my money back. My calculations say I didn't. Absa says I did......

@@mirandamthethwa8203 You are right. You are not getting it. PayPal processes payments for us customers. We (the customer) choose the store we want to buy from. If the store has a glitch, paypal can't give those funds to that store. The money was in "SHEIN'S" air. I don't know how else to explain it. I used PayPal for Uber and various other things in that period with ZERO PROBLEMS. SHEIN has a glitch or a bug or something that rejects payments regardless of customers having the funds. Others have been double charged. It's a mess. You know that you paid, the money has left but SHEIN says they didn't get it because it's in their "AIR". Their processing system and banking system is not matching up. Watch other people's videos. It's not a Absa problem. It's not a PayPal problem. There are so many other people locally and internationally who didn't use absa or PayPal and who didn't get distracted that experienced the exact same thing. The point of the video is for people to know that this CAN happen. And if it does happen to anyone who has watched this video and ignored my warning, all I can say is I told you so. 🙏🏾 My responsibility is to be honest with all of you. The rest is up to you.
I want to comment only on the statement recon issue, you can actually request to have it sent to you so you can recalculate for yourself. I'm a banker and I must tell you these failed transactions are a nightmare because people just simply don't understand. In essence when a transaction goes off and is unclear "pending/reserved" if you'd like, it does not really leave your account it just affects your balance that's why it didn't reflect on your transaction listing but is there on your notifications. I hope I make sense to you and everyone reading this.
I doubt it’s Shein guys. Why would they reject the money if they really wanted to take it ? I think their app is faulty, same thing happened to me though. The bank made a investigation, only to find out that the money is with the central bank. Why not return it if it’s still in South Africa ? Yet before the investigation the bank told me that it’s with the merchant, after the investigation they said that it’s with the central bank …. Maybe their all is faulty, sometimes it doesn’t process orders ….I don’t know why

Same thing happened to me and although I was panicking , the amount did bounce back. I noticed after a week when actually doing calculations that the money did return.
Had the same experience here in South Africa at Mr price and cotton on but I got a refund as the money was on cloud. The problem here is that you just have to fight for your money or else they keep it

I used my bank to pay and I got the same error, the SHEIN system obviously has a glitch! they never clear your payment, even though the bank says that zoe top lee business co has taken my money. they do not process the order. I will never shop on shein, it can mis me. it was my first time, worse I had to open a fraud case in order to get my money back.
Lol shame Capitec does. The exact same thing happened to me, Shein took the exact same amount out of my account twice. Capitec was able to sort it out. It took a while but shame they got my money back.

No. SHEIN is the problem. The money is in the air because of SHEIN. Their system has a error that rejects payments. The money goes missing BECAUSE OF SHEIN. I really don't understand how some of you don't get it. No other platform or website has ever given me this issue. And I'm not the only one.
I had the same issue with ASOS, they debited twice from paypal. I contacted ASOS and said first payment is for order capturing and second payment confirms the order. I had to contact my bank for dispute and after 10 days i got my money back

This happened to customers when I worked in retail the money eventually goes back into the customers account . It will literally show decline on the card machine,but the customer gets an notification showing the money left the account. However they recieve it eventually. I think this is a bank problem not a Shein or store problem At the end of the day it’s a store (whether physical or online) you can experience this shopping at pnp as well.

This sounds like a game Capitec n Uber were playing on my account in Dec. i would request, Capitec would reserve the money bt never credit it back when i cancel. that happened 3 times. Uber denied ever getting the money bt it showed on my statement.
I once had an order worth 2499 and shein took 2599. And extra hundred rands I never got back I was so pissed coz they blamed it on currency differences. But it's just weird how the difference would be exactly 100
@@Namolinahno I used absa debit card, shein takes time to reply emails and when they finally do they can't help. Before they scraped the refund in customs I had a claim already received by them but 3 weeks after receiving my claim they decided they don't refund anymore.
Shein incorrectly calculated my tax amount. The duty plus Vat amount was R548 but they’re total was R606 🥴I’m still investigating but I lose trust easily in the slightest monetary errors.

It gave me an error message that my payment did not go through and gave me another payment option. I selected the second option however the amounts were a few Rands difference. The second payment went through fine. Then I got sms from my bank for both accounts. Both reflecting uncleared. I went crazy and send shein messages. They said they only received one and rejected the other. I followed up daily got my banker involved. After some 2 weeks I got my refund. Since then am hesitant to buy again from Shein

This happens sometimes it's scary but when the money is in the air it comes back. This is due to network sometimes even at store it does happen. I've never paid for customs i always spend less than R800 and wait for spend R600 for free shipping
According to my calculations it never came back. And I'm not the only one. In this case and for many other people, the problem is the SHEIN app. I used the same card online and in-store without any issues.

I can see that you completely missed it. I used the same card in the same period without any issues. The problem is with shein. They charged me 3 times when I used their app. From my calculations, I didn't get all of my money back. Hence the word: SCAM. I am not the only one. Paid for accommodation using FNB and it was "reserved", apparently it sits there till the Company does their banking, otherwise gets returned to your bank account. APPARENTLY! i took note when it left my account, cause the bank balance dropped, and I never received any notification when it was returned, like you. And i dont recall having an increased bank balance. But about a month later, the company did their banking, deducted once again. I was convinced they scammed me till i went to the bank and bank statements were pulled and they took me through transaction by transaction. I want to believe that if anyone is scamming is our banks because the only time the local company got my payment was when they made their banking a month later after the money left my bank account. This is now where my comment of you should have tried to understand not trust the "accountant". Its ok to ask questions, for your understanding.

I had something similar happen with amazon. I bought a bunch of things from different vendors,the total due was deducted but hours later i started noticing specific amounts being returned and taken out again.I called amazon,they could only see 2 transactions,even though my amazon account showed me everything i bought. Next,I called my bank TD and the rep was ssoo helpful,she did the same thing your rep did. Go through payments and she said the issue with amazon is that if you buy from different vendors,some orders had been accepted by the merchant so they went through and some have not yet been accepted.
my money is in the air. She calculated everything and proved the money was not missing.amazon took what was accepted by the merchant and the rest would go through once the merchant accepted. It took me an hour to believe her.although til this day,i think i was done dirty lol .I got all my stuff eventually but the “money is in the air” thing annoys me.

Something similar happened to me on Saturday with the free shipping deal😭 The page was loading for too long so I just changed apps to PayPal to see what happened. The transaction didn't go through on Shein's side, neither did it show in my PayPal account that I made a transaction. BUT my bank account already had the amount deducted. I sent a message to Shein, and emailed PayPal but PayPal replied with a generic response. But thankfully the amount was deposited back into my account and I used the credit debit card payment method, but it didn't require me to input my ID Number into shein, which is why I used PayPal in the first place.
I'm still waiting for my money to be refunded, been two weeks already 😤😤

As a business owner I can safely say It happens regularly . I’ve had clients swipe a certain amount then it will show that their money has been deducted but I didn’t receive anything . It happens and mostly it’s the bank to be at fault. I don’t know how it works with foreign business but it’s easier to get your money back with local banks and businesses .

I give them the receipt and I keep a copy . The receipt tells u whether the transaction didn’t go through . Then we re-swipe . If your first swipe which didn’t go doesn’t go back to u in 1-3 working days . Call the bank and rectify it. Both receipts will be used as proof .
Then lastly I Take down their contacts details to follow through.
Its easily rectified in with local businesses and banks I’m not sure how it works will when buying online with other countries and banks .
I think shein needs to do better in helping people dealing with such predicament.

I used paypal for Shein everything was fine the next thing I started receiving SMS’s from my bank because money was being used to make purchases from my PayPal account via my card. I then logged a complaint at my bank and I received my money back. Three transactions to be precise and I blocked the transactions the next thing SHEIN blocked me from making purchases. I asked them why they blocked me they said because I was high risk 😅😅😅😅 but my bank refunded me via pay pal. I then canceled the card. So someone still tried to make purchases on the canceled card on my PayPal. That was wild!!!

When it's uncleared it means the money was still on hold. You could've called Absa to stop the transactions. There's a time limit though I think 24 hours

The reason the money left is because of SHEIN. All 3 transactions where in "SHEIN's air" if I can put it that way.
Their system has a glitch that causes money to leave but not be accepted by them. It's in their air. I don't know how else to explain it.
Watch other people's videos. There are other people who are still fighting to get their money back.

PayPal processes payments for us customers. We (the customer) choose the store we want to buy from.
If the store has a glitch, paypal can't give those funds to that store. The money was in "SHEIN'S" air. I don't know how else to explain it.
I used PayPal for Uber and various other things in that period with ZERO PROBLEMS.
SHEIN has a glitch or a bug or something that rejects payments regardless of customers having the funds. Others have been double charged. It's a mess.
You know that you paid, the money has left but SHEIN says they didn't get it because it's in their "AIR".
Their processing system and banking system is not matching up.
Watch other people's videos. It's not a Absa problem. It's not a PayPal problem. There are so many other people locally and internationally who didn't use absa or PayPal and who didn't get distracted that experienced the exact same thing.
The point of the video is for people to know that this CAN happen. And if it does happen to anyone who has watched this video and ignored my warning, all I can say is I told you so. 🙏🏾

I'm a banker and I must tell you these failed transactions are a nightmare because people just simply don't understand. In essence when a transaction goes off and is unclear "pending/reserved" if you'd like, it does not really leave your account it just affects your balance that's why it didn't reflect on your transaction listing but is there on your notifications.

I doubt it’s Shein guys. Why would they reject the money if they really wanted to take it ? I think their app is faulty, same thing happened to me though. The bank made a investigation, only to find out that the money is with the central bank. Why not return it if it’s still in South Africa ?

the money eventually goes back into the customers account . It will literally show decline on the card machine,but the customer gets an notification showing the money left the account. However they recieve it eventually. I think this is a bank problem not a Shein or store problem

Thank you for sharing. I also had a similar experience in Jan roo. 😂😂 am not laughing. But for me when I got to the payment stage made the payment as usual from my account. It gave me an error message that my payment did not go through and gave me another payment option. I selected the second option however the amounts were a few Rands difference. The second payment went through fine. Then I got sms from my bank for both accounts. Both reflecting uncleared. I went crazy and send shein messages. They said they only received one and rejected the other. I followed up daily got my banker involved. After some 2 weeks I got my refund. Since then am hesitant to buy again from Shein

There is either a glitch or a bug or something in their system where money is sent to them but:
1. It doesn't show that it's sent on their side
2. It gets rejected
On my side Absa and PayPal have sent the money and I literally don't have the money in my account.
My balance was lower each time.

I can see that you completely missed it. I used the same card in the same period without any issues. The problem is with shein. They charged me 3 times when I used their app. From my calculations, I didn't get all of my money back. Hence the word: SCAM.

Paid for accommodation using FNB and it was "reserved", apparently it sits there till the Company does their banking, otherwise gets returned to your bank account. APPARENTLY! i took note when it left my account, cause the bank balance dropped, and I never received any notification when it was returned, like you. And i dont recall having an increased bank balance. But about a month later, the company did their banking, deducted once again. I was convinced they scammed me till i went to the bank and bank statements were pulled and they took me through transaction by transaction. I want to believe that if anyone is scamming is our banks because the only time the local company got my payment was when they made their banking a month later after the money left my bank account. This is now where my comment of you should have tried to understand not trust the "accountant". Its ok to ask questions, for your understanding.
