- As the title says... :)
Boss SD-1 providing just a slight boost and then into the Suhr Koko Boost for the mid boost!
SM57 - V30 - computer
No post processing or production :)
THIS is the tone!! Awesome.
Love the Marshall and sd-1. That sd-1 makes things very...lively for lack of a better description and adds harmonics and a thick 3d furr around the notes. Sounds great on a Laney GH50l too ;)
I boost my JCM2525 mini jubilee (basically a hot-rodded JCM800 circuit) with an SD-1W and it is the sweetest tone :)
Legendary tone. Perfect.
This is benchmark tone. Great amp. Great playing too. Thanks for the demo.
Biiiig Thumbs up dude. Just bought an '81 2204. Can not wait to get it here
I like my boost in the form of the LPB-1 (Mick Mars used one on first 2 Crue albums), I have a '78 2203, and like you say, those tones are basically instant.
Sounds Slash's tone
nice !
Thanks Mark? How about the speakers when boosted, do you prefer Greenbacks or the V30?
With the Marshall and Friedman I like the Greenback although the V30 is a good recording speaker for most general purposes. :)
Mark Starr nice demo/playing. Would a tube screamer/koko work similarly you think?
it doesnt take much boost to make it to metal gain
settings please ;)
Which song are you playing dude?
ScarredPredator Ratt - Lay It Down
Jim Greco Thanks!
Sweet!!! Couple of questions. Do you like the boosted 800 with V30s or Greenbacks? Also do you have more fun playing the Friedman or 800 generally? Thanks.
Thank you for listening. :) Both amps are a blast to play but the Friedman has more onboard features to play around with and a stellar clean channel. The Marshall has that classic crunch tone from back in the day instantly, and with a boost (or two :) ) get's you into 80's tones easily. The Friedman has more inherent gain even in the standard BE mode without engaging any switches or additional gain stages.
The Marshall plugged straight in is instant 70's-ish classic rock tone. The boosts/EQ then can take it into 80's territory easily just imo.
+Mark Starr What song is this? Amazing riff... and amazing amp
