Me too man! Great little fun cars that actually could grow you into a good driver! My second was a swift gti wich later turned turbo and it was a death machine, 250 bhp/28 kg torque on 720kg chassis! Thank God I turned it to parts and sold it before I died!! (stock compression, 8 injectors, diesel hybrid turbo, 9.800 rpm cut, I made all the custom piping, intercooler etc and an adapter for the Hyundai diesel tranny I've bolted on along with a Honda accord/civic DIY 4 puck clutch)
@Gareth Johnstone great engine, one of the best if not the best 4 cyl 1.3 lt, but as far as chassis and suspension geometry goes it's a tiny rev-happy nightmare 😆

Does anyone know the specification of W201 190e in superproduction? It must be different than DTM one as these cars were N/a and weak comparing to these 500+ hp monsters in FTCC. I just found this racing series and it immediately became my favorite. The variety of cars, seeing 911 Turbo overtaken by small AX is something else.
Good question! I’d love to know too. I googled it but found no info. Might have a better look later. I think I got the best info on the AX using translate and French websites
Everyone here is impressed by the little Citroen and I'm here wondering about this incredible racing series that I've never heard of.What is this? French Touring Car Championship or something?? Ps. Damn Ragnotti was racing everything during the 80s and 90s.
Pretty much. French Supertouring Championship. From the early 80s to 87 the rules were pretty much what Grp A touring cars was everywhere. Then 87-88 it went insane and allowed these SuperProduction cars in, which kicked everyones ass. 89+90 they allowed the aforementioned Grp A cars to have more mods to keep them competitive with the SuperProductions. And 91 on they went to rules much like the BTCC at the time, where it was all 2ltr N/A engines.
It was the Circuit de Rouen les Essarts ! It was made using the road that connects the city of Rouen with the small town of Les Essarts. Sadly the circuit was closed after some serious accidents due to the fast narrow corners. Today you can still drive on the short layout of the track but the longer part was removed.

Wait a second, so you are telling me, Citroen built a Citroen AX, with frone Wheel drive, 1.6l, 500hp and Diravi Steering? Thats just fucking awesome.
Very cool video. My first ever car was a Citroen AX GTI and it was great fun. 100hp, less than 800kg. Sooo good. 👍👍

Renault Clio V6, R5 Turbo
Citröen Saxo, AX for example.

Thank you for doing this stav! When I was a youngster the AX GT was my dream car. I didn’t even know this series existed! Beautiful 👍🏻
That's so cool. I might have to drag my '89 AX out the garage now!

Watching this car in real life is pretty unreal... Totally unbelievable car.

0:12 "The small who hasn't lost weight" I guess that phrase would make more sense to a French person 🤔
I read it as "The small that is not afraid of the big" which makes perfect sense. Considering it's a small car, racing big ones.
