Berg-Cup really has some of the coolest hillclimb cars and this AX is clear example of what to expect there.Fantastic cornering,grip and stability with great speed and my word,does it sound amazing.Hard not to sympathize with driver when gearbox failed,especially since it looked like a really good run.Either way,thanks for sharing this pocket rocket.
I had a lot of years ago one AX GT. It was very very funny from te box, 85cv. Drive one with 255cv must be really amazing. Thanks a lot for the car & video.
Off the line it seems to confirm my suspicion that it's a lot like a tuned 2 stroke: nothing...nothing...nothing...maximum attack/next gear! Not that it's a bad thing mind you, and 9,800rpm out of a TU is seriously impressive.

C'est un 1.6l atmo qui prend 9000trs, pas un turbo, et les montées en régime dépendent beaucoup des ratios de boite qu'on ne connait pas. Donc rien à voir avec les bourrins soit-disant restés à l'écurie.
@@elisabethvilcot865 Tout dépend de ce à quoi on compare. Si c'est pas rapport à d'autres autos de course de côte, oui, clairement il y a plus "monstrueux" comme config. Si c'est par rapport à ce que représente cette auto dans cette configuration, je trouve le terme plutôt adapté (poids, puissance au litre, régime moteur, prépa chassis / aéro et sonorité).

Awesome sound. But why such a big rear spoiler on a FWD car?
What does spoiler have to do with traction? I was in doubt;-;
FWD's can also oversteer, especially at high speeds hence the need for rear downforce to correct this.
Most likely to reduce some of the lift off oversteer and make it more manageable.

Dont think an 1.8 stroker would rev that high. Maybe it has itbs, high compression, bigger camshafts, headwork does a lot on these also, etc..
