    Starting my beard 3 years ago (46) led to some healthy life style changes. Eating, water etc. In some ways I'm healthier now than in my 30s. Happy Father's day Dan and bearded brothers!

    I can attest to both the age and stress levels affecting beard growth. I’m 63 y-o and until about 4 years ago was not aware that beard products even existed. I used head and shoulders to wash my beard, and mid 30s to around mid 50s had a monster beard and a full head of hair. Now with the lady 8-9 years working an extremely stressful job and being outside that range, I am seeing a big difference. Stress, age, genetics, and heallth have taken a big toll on that once amazing beard! I do still have a full head of hair (what I don’t shave)! Great topic, helped me see why, thanks!

    I started to loose my head hair at 19. By 27 i started growing my beard out. Now at the age of 36 i got a big Bald spot on my head and some white hair on my beard. The information that i got was i am just getting older. I could use just for men to keep the hair but why would i keep spending so much money when i stop the new hair goes away. I embarrassed the hair loss and my white hair. Come to find out woman was more app to talk to me. I even had several of them tell me that my beard was more attractive because it looks older and wiser. Later on my friends that was older than me w/o a beard got carded for alcohol but i didn't. He asked the waitress why and she said he has a beard i know he is old enough. The moral of the story is embrace what you got. The ladies like a confident Man. And if you worried about your beard, you're stressing out and you're going to lose out on The majestic beard that you are chasing! Dan, there is a question though that you did not answer about this topic. Dht blockers in beard products. How they work and if they work for your beard like like other beard growth pills? Great video then and enjoy your Sunday with your family ! God bless everyone and happy Father Day!

    Dan,
    62 and I’m three months into regrowing my beard. I had it for about two years prior to this.. I’ve been shaving my head since 2000. I didn’t want to deal with spending the time it took to style it every morning.
    With the exception of some sparsity on my cheeks… It appears to be coming in fairly well. I’m taking a picture at the end of each month to See the progress.
    Thanks for your help along the way!
    JB

    Great great info DanC!! I retired from law enforcement last year in California and moved to the woods in Arkansas. Stress levels waaaaay down. Started growing my yeard/retirement beard then. Through your teachings, less stress and I’ve got zero issues with testosterone, I’m on TRT, my beard has never ever been this healthy!! At 10 months I was at 6” and the growth has taken off with daily washing, proper hydration, biotin etc!!! Thank you 🙏🏻

    Happy Father's Day Dan and to all Father's. I started growing my beard in my early 40s. When bald about the same time. Im 59 now. Not knowing how to take care of the beard, I cut it off many times. As you know, we have discussed my health issues. Change in habits such as eating better drinking more water and most of all, reducing stress has made the biggest difference in my beard. This would not have happened if I didn't make changes needed for a healthy way of life.
    The beared community has been such a help in more than just the beared. Dan thank you and the community for helping make this journey so good.
    Just my two cents.

    Makes a lot of sense man, I’m 37 and started to thin on my head, also noticed that my beard especially my mustache that has always been thinner and less dense with hair has been improving. My dad kept a full head of hair until he was in his late thirties around 42 he had the obvious doughnut on the back of his head, he has no shortage of beard either, although I can’t get him to grow it out lol. I’m actually going thinner faster than he did, one of the reasons I am trying to grow my hair out currently before it gets too thin, won’t bother me though, my absolute favorite style is a shaved head with a massive beard.

While I'm fit for my 69 years, health issues, medicine and baldness put me into the not so peak category. I'm happy with my beard growth and style. Thanks Dan. Thank you Dan for yet another amazing and interesting video. ❤️
    So I’m a unicorn then. 🤔 50 years old with both a beard and long hair. 😁
    I’m gonna give you something to think about. I’ve had long hair since 2002 (third time with long hair) but didn’t start growing the beard properly until 2014 (41 years old then) when I got sick. Have been going through sickness since then with different medications mostly for the blood pressure but also some antidepressants (which I stopped taking 2018-19 or something like that).
    So I have taken meds during all the years having a really full beard while also struggling with sickness. I haven’t been able to work so much on my fitness except taking walks more or less every day.
    Add to that that in 2022 my mom got ill with lung cancer so most of my focus has been on her until she passed away in November 2023. Which has affected me and my mental health a lot.
    Sorry for the long comment.

    I actually learned about this a while back on one of your previous videos. And then I researched it some and started taking Finestaride for my head hair loss, and yeah it helped that... then added minoxidil and other supplements and it helped. But it always seems your videos really affirms my beliefs on how I will reach optimal growth and health. The key ingredient is healthy habits. Hydration, and being conscious of your own health is going to be the key to it all. Genetics only tell part of the story, peak age is another part, supplements and products are another part. But that is still not the whole story because the true variable is you and your amount of effort and patience.
    Don't sit there and compare yourself to anyone else, it's all about you. Your beard is an extension and indication of you and how well you take care of yourself. You can have a full beard and still be unhealthy, but is it a healthy beard? Is it clean, hydrated, and well cared for? If it isn't, then guess what you are still doing it wrong. This channel isn't just about beards to me, it's about me, you and every man who wants to look and feel their best. Their most manly, their most awesome. Their beardest! Thank you @dancbearded for another banger of information.

    So the question of the day is…Is there something to consume or apply that increases DHT levels outside of exercise, sleep, stress management, and water. As per ChatGPT, the suggestions are healthy fats, vitamin D, Zinc, creatine, and something called DHEA. I take zinc supplements daily. I have a jar of creatine powder that now I wonder if it would do any good to mix into my water bottles on a regular basis. Is one of these more effective than another or ignore it all together?
    I started my now 10 inch beard at age 46. Now I’m 49 and it’s still growing slowly. One thing I need to improve on is my water intake. I drink only about 1/2 a gallon a day only because I’ve been driving for Uber lately full time and don’t want to have to use a restroom all the time but I try to drink as much as I can in the morning before I hit the road.

      That’s a great question and I do not know enough to say! I know generally speaking, if it’s good for your testosterone, then it’s good for DHT

    Also I had no idea I could grow a great beard years ago. Otherwise I would’ve started much earlier. Parents and grandparents never had one. Had to go all the way back to my great great grand dad who lived in the 1800s. So my point is .. if you don’t think you can grow a great beard.. try anyways. You may be surprised.

    When I was young, I had an Amish beard, no top. I hated that. When I grew older, it all filled in. So, patience indeed. Question: is caffein bad for the beard? What would be the worst thing to eat or drink, for a beard?

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  17 днів тому +1

      Caffeine applied topically is actually great! Internally? I don’t know enough to confidently say. I believe the worst thing for a beard to consume is just the worst foods and drinks in general. If it’s bad for your health, then it’s bad for your beard. If it needed to be beard specific, I would say soy

    Then what should I do as a wheelchair user? You mentioned couch sitting isn't a good idea when it comes to beard groth but that's exactly what I'm doing. Only not with a couch.
    And what if you live in a country where you get money from the government if you're not able to work or have other stress factors. Will that optimal age lower?

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  17 днів тому +1

      Making the most of your situation. Being as active and healthy as you can. Going out and being active in a wheelchair is not the same as couch sitting.
      And optimal age does not change, but unhealthy factors can stop you from reaching the beard potential

    My goatee doesn't grow out Dan. There is a patch in between and it has refused to join for decades. What's the solution? Minoxidil didn't do justice to it. And I think I might reach my peak without experiencing what it's like to have a decent beard.
