I'm not sure if you can pull DSD from the disc? I lost my one SACD years ago, so I'm not sure.
What is the best now ? Im looking for a hu and see this is a bit older . What is new for high quality HUs?
I notice that you were able to scroll through song tiles from USB1 in the video. But I have not been able to do that with the app.

Is the volume knob operation on the Sony smooth like a home audio receiver? Or do you feel the ‘clicks’ of the pot as you turn up the volume? Then when using the optical output is the volume variable with the knob on the Sony like normal or do you need to use the volume control on your processor?
Would it be necessary to integrate this head unit into a car stereo with a processor like the bit one.What do you think?
I need help on how to set the HPF on the subwoofer settings. The LPF is set at 79Hz. What should be the HPF setting to be used for front and rear speakers? The HPF setting is shown in the subwoofer settings menu and I couldn’t find a menu for filter settings for the speakers. Please advise
I'm torn between this and the Pioneer P99. This will play full Hi-Res audio, while the P99 is limited to 48/16 wav files through its USB input. That's a definite plus in the Sony's favor. The P99 has spectacular tuning capabilities, while the Sony's are pretty limited. It has time alignment, but c'mon, a 10 band EQ??? From what I can tell, it's not even L&R independent. That necessitates a separate processor with a decent EQ so your looking at maybe $2,200 vs $1,200 for the Pioneer. Why couldn't Sony put in a decent EQ to save me the $800 for a processor? I will probably wait it out. Sony won't sell many of these so I'm hoping to see them clearance out at $800 in a year or two and then it will be a slam dunk in favor of the Sony.
Help ! What’s the difference between this and the audison bit play hd ssd. Also which one is better ? I currently have the audison bit play hd and I haven’t fully used all the functions and if there is still a lot of bugs. I’m also a Apple user if that helps.
SoundscapeCarAudio - Hello! A question I need help with. The GS9 supports FLAC 192/24-bit. Supposing I use one of the USB Type A ports with USB stick loaded with music, will I be able to control select the music using the Sony SongPAl app from Iphone to navigate the thumb drive via blue tooth pairing? Or does the song pal app only let you navigate when the phone itself is connected? If it's the latter then I would assume SongPal is really limiting it's use to whatever music you have on phone, which won't be high-res.
Digital Audio Broadcasting - DAB+ ??? :(
When you own a large collection of SACD's that are not available for download anywhere, Sony misses the boat on true audiophiles that would've sprung the extra coin for an external digitally connected DSD-stream compatible SACD player unit. Opinion welcomed?

How much bass it have for subwoofer?
I was really hoping that this would be some competition for the Pioneer Dex P99-RS. But it has some limitations it appears.
