The refresh hiccup is a thing known to every thermal sight I've used in the military and LE work. As long as it isn't too long or too frequent it's just how they work.
Great video, thanks for sharing. 🤓 In my own three-way 225R/335R/635R daylight comparison video the 335R did look to have slightly better contrast than the 635R, but I was honest (as always) that that could have been down to different settings, as I didn't have them on test for long (literally a few hours). UK NV guru Bruce had more time with them, so I pasted his equally honest feedback/observations in that video's description, for all to see. 🤝 Anyways, great video and I'm jealous, I still haven't had chance to compare all three after dark. Happy shooting! 🎯🤓 Cheers. Russ
@RussDouglas222 first off, thanks for the comment! Didn't expect a bigger channel like yours to watch my video lol. When I made this video I was frustrated with my fx impact (update video coming on that soon lol) and I said that you didn't have the correct settings or something like that but I fixed my negative comment (when i said it i didn't mean anything negative, but it sounded negative when i heard what i said. Talking to a camera is hard lol) with a text pop up when I said that in the video. Your video review is why I bought this 635r. I am sorry for my comment and look forward to your future videos!
@RcBlade Hey don't worry nothing to apologise for bud, I'm just a regular airgunner / pest controller who happens to review stuff too. 🤓 I try to point folk towards Bruce's comments in my video description for additional info. Glad you love your TNC635R, I'd get one too, but no lottery win (yet). 🤞😆 All the best, cheers. Russ Ps. I've subbed to your channel.
Not going to lie, the white-hot mode looked super clear, and I’m kind of impressed. I’ve played with other thermal imagers, and they all do that thing where they freeze up to refresh. My wife got me an Amazon special-a thermal camera that connects to an Android phone or tablet. I’m working on a DIY MacGyver setup, attaching it to a Wi-Fi camera with side-to-side and up-and-down movement so I can look around the yard at night when something gets triggered. I’m still figuring out how to set it up. My daughter loves birds, and we have a lot of bird feeders, which unfortunately attract rodents, groundhogs, raccoons, and rats. Living next to farmland means these animals treat my bird feeders like a 24-hour diner. I’m also pretty annoyed with DNT. They were supposed to ship my thermal scope on Wednesday, but it only got shipped today. Now it’s delayed until next week. Between work and being a dad, I won’t have time to do anything with it until the weekend, which really sucks.
Yeah, I live in an area of thick woods and farm fields all around. The rodent problem is real out here lol. I wish I got some on the thermal but none come out because of the deep snow.
Impressive quality and multi-spectral at this price is a great value. I have ATN day/night optic with laser and a hand-held thermal scanner in 640 and have 2X the cost in those and the weapon mounted scope is huge in comparison. I'm close to joining the DNT 635 TN club. ;)
I bought the TNC225R four days before DNT released the 335R and 635R. So, I'm enjoying the advantage that brings, and I'm debating about getting the 335R he 635R and skipping over the 335R. Thanks for the video.
Hi ! Mate look like your TNC 635 r look kind of fuzzy. Did you focus right because that IR supposed to illuminate more light . I have the TNC 225r that shit is awesome, specially, you use thermal on the prey hiding behind the tall grass, the thermal will pick them up. By the way, set up your scope, picture and pictures thermal and IR you are definitely enjoying your shooting 👍
Do you know if the night vision part is the same on the cheap one? I know the thermal is way better on this one,But I've got a good (not great, but good) thermal thanks
[interesting, wonder if it's made by the same factory in china. They have a similar looking build. looks like theirs is a shutterless thermal so no freezing. Perhaps DNT will eventually move to that sort of setup. Pretty lame it's all from china, but we do want affordability]
[In thermal I can see an animal is there at 500yards no problem, I can tell it's a deer by the way it moves. Can't see it good that far in night vision. I think up to 200 yards is a pretty good range for identifying a if something is for example a coyote not a dog. ]
White hot's my natural choice too, partly simply because the display should then be mostly dark, which therefore poses less risk of illuminating your face at night. But I've learned to also check black hot too, just in case of those odd instances where it reveals greater target definition. I never use gimmicky red hot or rainbow. Cheers. Russ

I was checking them out at Shot Show last week. It seems like a great unit for the price.
Great Video, been looking at getting one of these and this was a great showcase of its capabilities. Thanks!
Both the NV and The Thermal look absolutely awesome.
That's some crazy good quality for the price!
That looks amazing. Mine suppose to arrive today.
looks fantastic !! my TNC335R shows up tomorrow
@@Operatorofstealth let me know if yours does that refresh thing allot after startup like mine did. I'm curious lol

@richjohnson4557 I am impressed with it. So much so that I use it every night after work lol.
My tnc 335 came in today. So far it's pretty incredible
I need one of these for my DMR, I am going to get the ZULUS first then the one you have.
All thermal optics use NUCs to keep the image calibrated. Even the biggest and best on military aircraft do it.

How good is this scope at long range, say out to 500 yards as far as being able to identify what animal you're looking at?
I'll be dropping a long range video soon

Underbrush, leaves, etc will obscure thermal, FYI.
