Also, Inspired by VGC rejects I recently tried scarfed Luxray with guts and had prankster priority sableye with wide lense to activate it. It was fun but very inconsistent.
Thank you!! Also I love the idea, side-activating guts can be really cool (but a little risky!) - I love Sableye and Luxray, though, great choices!
I wonder if using High Crit moves (Cross Poison, Night Slash) with a Focus Sash rather than the other moves with a Scope Lens would have helped?
I gave that a try in early testing! Tbh it yielded similar results, but I still ran into the problem of focus energy feeling a bit passive (though the Dragon Cheer strategy is as well, to be fair)
@@slamgaming32 Ah, I see. Well, I'm using an Ariados as a Rage Powder guy in my Regulation G team. It's also a Trick Room team! I'll be packing Mesprit, Dialga, Ariados, Primarina, Incineroar, and Decidueye.
Between Rage Powder and Fake Out, I SHOULD have enough interference to get off Trick Room pretty effectively regardless of Psychic Terrain or Armor Tail and its brethren. Rage Powder can also protect my guys from Sucker Punch, so it'll be funny to make a Chen Pow wiff a turn.
I wonder what Ariados could do if it have a really good speed like 100+ and 115 Atk, would be interesting to see that in action. Honestly dont know why is so slow, spiders are really fast and they bolt a lot of times.
Agreed! Base 40 is crazy slow, any buff to its stats would be huge

Ohhhhh Ive always been interested in the ability ever since that Kingdra with Sniper. And ever since ive been fascinated with who actually has Sniper. I completely forgot about Scope Lens so this is kinda disgusting 😂
It’s a hit-or-miss strategy, but I like that it lets Ariados do some real damage!
Another mon that works like this is Inteleon. It gets Sniper and it has this one water move that gets increased crit chance.
There’s other sniper mons which I feel like adapting this for (inteleon, maybe)

Thanks man, I just remember being slack jawed while I watched the nukes rain down and being legitimately surprised Hydrapple was faster than Rampardos outside trick room. I've been exploring the channel all day and needless to say I've subscribed. Look forward to some more cool content. Maybe we'll run into each other on the ladder again some day!
Rampardos is a really cool Pokemon, it’s just got such an unfortunate stat line. If its speed was 30 points higher it’d be a great sweeper, if it was 30 points slower it’d be perfect for trick room teams. It’s right at that awkward spot where you just can’t bring it into a lot of matches without some kind of special set up.
So true! It can only basically work against teams with no trick room options, unfortunately
I dont think low base stats is a problem of early gen mons, so much as it is a problem for johto mons, which is why so so many of them received evolutions in future gens

Some weeks ago i tried to do dragon cheer setup with kingdra sniper but man it’s so hard. Flutter mane completely destroys the team :(

Definitely! Though the problem would still be that it would not be able to underspeed Amoonguss, even at -1 speed (that shroom is slow)
I have a question, so I'm currently wanting to make this team for VGC Reg G and I replaced the Torkoal with Groudon will this affect the team in any way, also what are the stats for this team?
I have a paste in the video description with the stat spreads! Groudon would be tougher to use from the trick room angle, as it is not nearly as slow. Also, Reg G is going to be so offensively stacked that trick room in general will probably suffer - but that’s not to say it’s not worth giving it a shot!
